64 P bass... hands up who thinks the seller is f.o.s.
Someone is going to be either bitterly disappointed or blissfully ignorant and happy!
Serves 'em right if they are seriously bidding on it and haven't found this page while doing a wee bit of research. -
... as far as I can tell the frets seem to just be glued on...
It's not likely. What make is it?

I'm no expert but I'm plumping for d.
Hello and thanks for your feedback. I forgot to say that I don't play on all those tracks, only half of them. Anotonia's Party is fairly typical of what I get up to, though I am getting better. I think we should start gigging but we need a drummer and a singer!! I will have alook and see if there are any second hand Stingrays kicking about......
Cool. To tell you the truth I didn't hear much bass (listened to it on my lappy) I based my comment on how a 'ray would sit in with those tunes - and I think it would suit it very well. Being a STP / DeLeo fan, I'm a lover of the model T, I tried to get a hold of one for ages but nothing ever came up... and then I got into single coil Ps instead which have an altogether more distinctive sound than the Model T.

As much as I rate G&L, having listened to your tunes I think the second hand Stingray is the way to go too... plus no shiny neck.
.....Part of the problem is using terms like 'well packaged' as people have different opinions to what that means....
+1 I once had a bass shipped to me in a soft case with a black plastic bag sellotaped over it. Oddly enough one of the safest packaging jobs I've received came without a case at all.... It didn't even look like a bass. It's a pity more folk aren't prepared to do it like this.
If it has a clear finish, you can do a fair bit with steaming out the dented part (if you have bare wood, wet tissue/cloth on it and put a soldering iron on briefly, so the steam pops the dented wood fibres out), that also cleans out the grub, then fill the hole with layers of superglue then polish down.
+1 Although you can't steam out an end grain dink and superglue dries darker.
Totally agree....or a big CND sticker if you cant be arsed sanding.
That'd work too.

After this i swear im getting help/therapy

£48 from the States is pretty good. It's the import charges you have to watch out for. -
Yes. Tiny dings etc. can be sanded out then cleverly refinished. Chips or gouges need more work. Filler will hardly ever look good.
Get some fimo in the colour of your choice, bake the basic shape and sand to a smooth and flat finish. Sand the sticking face true and flat then apply double sided tape. Bish bosh.
Haha I like it. I bet if you turned up with one on your bass a lot of the cynicism would quickly evaporate. It's just a thumb rest for god's sake (albeit more ergonomic than the blocky ones we are used to)... and a bad advert. Who puts 3 individual thumb rests on a bass? No one, they are just showing examples. They don't have LEDs. Those are just crappy graphics. As for the positioning. You could put them anywhere you want, no one's making you do it like the pic - although individually those positions look kind of reasonable to me. True, they'd look out of place on your vintage Fender or what have you but there's a myriad of functional basses that it wouldn't. Besides no one would see it while you were playing. Having said that I wouldn't have one ... I don't get on with thumb rests. My preference is to dig in over the pup and I find thumb rests can sometimes get in the way of an up stroke.

Knurled Saddles? Whats so great about them?
Ou7shined replied to son of frog's topic in Repairs and Technical
...fender claims that they improve the tone in some way, Is this the possible mysterious reason why i think the 50's p basses sounds so much better than a standard mexican ones?....
It's not very likely. -
£250! blimey! - well seeing as I got in on here for £125 I'll repay the compliment in case a basschatter wants it for a few days then try ebay then
I know I was almost tempted to put mine up when I saw it... but I like it too much... besides by the looks of it I'll never be able to afford another one.

Have a word with 7string. He's fairly close by you and should be able to sort you out.

Using a block of wood for protection a sharp tap front and back with a small hammer should free it up. Without knowing what bass you have, there are plenty of P & J type (& the odd Gibby) nuts on ebay.
