1. Sold Mick a Fender Classic 70's Jazz. Came to collect, paid cash and drank my coffee. Good stuff!
2.
i run a pc and laptop with cubase on both for home and mobile recording, and i very rarely have any issues that are not self created
Agree to that. I love reading threads about people using computers. Nearly all contain people slagging off something purely because they didn't read the user guide and screwed everything up, then all of a sudden you get loads of posts containing "cubase/pro tools/logic is utter crap". Computer recording is only hassle if you don't learn to use it properly!

4.
Designed for killing people! The best tone i have ever heard, with enough power to discipline guitarists. So full of sound, full of tone ,that i don`t want any other amp for the rest of my life, worth every gram it weighs
OMFG!!! This + Zvex Fuzz Factory + Orange Thunderverb 200 + 2 Matamp 4x12's + Les Paul strung with 15 - 70's tuned to drop A = Massive doomtastic sludge-a-ma-geddon!! ...oh and deafness.
5. SOLD!!!!
6. Hi guys! After a bit of pondering and the urge to buy an 8 string guitar I'm parting ways with my 70's MiM Jazz bass. It's only 18 months old and is in awesome condition without any chips or dings and only some light swirl on the pick guard. Plays and sounds excellent and looks the mutts nuts too! It comes with a Fender padded gig bag and I'll include a wide leather strap which cost me £30. I bought this from Digital village for a shade under £650. Im letting it go for the bargain price of £350!!! Sorry, no trades. I'm not prepared to ship the bass so cash on collection only please. Location is Angmering, West Sussex, UK. Thanks! Jon I'M KNOCKING PRICE DOWN TO £300 FOR QUICK SALE!!!
7. I've not tried the Hydrive but I owned a kickback 12 which was 120watt and that was a thundering little beast. Very punchy and very portable.
8. I've not tried one of the Peacemaker heads? I heard it was partly designed by Dave at Matamp but does it sound anything like a Matamp?
9.
one thing - i do wish people would stop calling guitarists 'guitards' it's childish in the extreme.
+1 I hate the expression. The assumption that somebody who plays guitar is also a retard is itself quite retarded.
10. Not long ago I saw a Cream tribute band and the bassist, with his chin high Status, obviously thought he was the mutts nuts whilst he slapped and tapped his way through an hour and a bit of Cream songs. Afterwards I asked him how long he'd been playing ...15 years was his response as I sighed into my pint. Bass is indeed a wonderful instrument but only when its played by a bassist who has a clue!
11. I've always liked having at least a 3 band EQ on a bass amp but I just purchased an Orange Dual Terror guitar amp and its basically got two channels, each with Volume, Tone and Gain controls ...sounds fookin ace! No need for anything more than that in this case.
12.
Put a bass in a guitarist's hands and they just seem to get the urge to, well...widdle.
Hmmmm Stu Hamm, Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Alain Caron, Marcus Miller, Adam Nitti, Jeff Schmidt, Jonas Helborg, Micheal Manring etc.. of course THEY don't widdle on bass I consider myself an accomplished guitarist and bassist and resent the fact that people seem to genuinely believe you can't do one without being some kind of traitor to the other.
13. Hi! If you are feeling up to it you might want to shorten the length of the wiring. It'll help with keeping the signal as clean as possible.
14.
It wasnt going to be long before I had to post was it. I do honestly truly understand the 'but I can make the same sound for £500' argument. I can also understand the 'I wouldnt use that in a pub 4 nights a week argument' (I wouldnt use mine for pub gigs, I'd probably use an Ibanez). However I have to say a few comments on this thread have somwhat vexed me Why is it a waste of money? Someone could afford to buy it and probably will. If you use that argument Ferrari, Maybach, Rolls-Royce and Bentley would never sell any cars. If you want the very best of everything it costs money. Because almost everyone cannot afford £7k on an instrument doesnt make it wrong, itjust makes it very very expensive. A PRS EB IV when on sale in the UK was £2.4k. I would most certainly have not been ableto buy all the lovelies I have if I'd had to pay that amount, but some were sold for that price in the UK. I'm afraid most of you are missing the point. You have to order PRS Private Stock instruments. They are hand made for you in the custom shop at Stevensville. The customer specifies all aspects of the order. PRS has obtained some of the most exotic woods and finishes available to make Private Stock instruments from, and some of those have been stored and conditioned for years to produce massively stable structures. The GG 5 string for sale at Thomanns will have been orderd by someone maybe even Thomann to sell. They are not mass produced machine made 'fighting guitars'. Thomanns can reflect that price in what they are asking for it. I also resent the midlife crisis bass label that some of you have added to it - would you say the same of a Shuker, a Custom shop (POS IMHO) Fender or a custom shop Warwick......? There is less than 5 GG basses made a year, that makes it a very exclusive club. A club I will be joining in a couple of years time, not because I want ANY OLD 5 STRING bass, I want a handmade PRS and I am prepared to pay for it. I will be flying over to pick it up too. It will never get played in a pub but will be played and cherished as my others are. Someone will buy that one and you know what.... You will never see it for sale on here because whoever does buy it will want to keep it.
Well said! I couldn't afford to spend £7k on a single instrument but I've spent more than that over the years on various guitars basses and amps Its all relative as well. If £7k is a drop in the ocean and you can easily afford to then why not? Also, to many people £500 is a lot of money for a guitar/bass.
