1. If it doesn't sell I may turn it into a stack-knob and put on some TI flats.
2. Lovely. Tried several times to get a 2nd hand lefty.
3. Why is this bass still on here? If only it were a lefty. Have a bump for me and tell Sting to use his again for a few shows and then watch the PM's roll in.
4. What does the fretless with the steel fingerboard sound like?
5. This shows off how small this rig really is.
6.
They're not supposed to have the cut out for the truss rod bump These are from reissues; Classic 50's, '57 RI and '58RI, and none of these have the cut out because they all have the vintage style truss rod adjuster, i.e. the neck has to come off. AFAIK no MIJ reissues have gold pickguards and I believe these are all USA made regardless of what bass they came on. Hope this helps.
Exactly. Cheers. (what he said)
7. Here is my P bass fitted with similar gold pickguard and chrome covers.
8. Yeah, Kevin's work is very good. Wish I had that ability.
9.
I will have the chrome covers if you want to split.
PM'd
10. Selling my 1994 sunburst jazz. Has upgraded Seymour Duncan pickups and US pots. Price includes UK postage.
11. Price includes UK delivery. BUMP!
12. This is a 50's re-issue guard. It didn't specify any particular country of origin when I still had the Fender packaging. In fact I have a catalogue featuring the American Vintage series and there is no cut out for truss rod on any Precision.
13. Ive played a couple of VM and CV basses and prefer the CV models. The P basses are excellent value.
14. That looks the bollocks!
15. Had a thought. Is it possible to convert my existing wiring control plate to using solderless terminals so I can switch between original and stack version?
16. Price includes delivery. Bump.
17. Ha! Very funny. I am going to take the electrics out but the exposed wood on the body will have to be sealed with some kind of primer.
18. Is it possible to seal what's on the bass so I can paint over it?
19. Will think about splitting. I have another guard fitted on a Fender P MIJ and only a few holes didnt line up but its all under the guard anyway.
20. I did use the green Nitromors to no effect. Is the Craftsman strength more like the original stuff?
21. I decided to strip the paint from my 1994 Fender Jazz MIJ. I once used paint-stripper on a Musicmaster and it worked a treat so I attempted the same only to discover the new recipe in modern stripper is useless. I cant imagine trying to rub the bass down using sandpaper. I dont have the skills, so I'm now thinking of trying to prep the bass for a respray. Can knowedgeable peeps out there please tell me how I can make this work? I have so far tried to leave the pickups and wiring in place but im going to have to remove them and hope I can rewire them myself as Im a complete novice. Bass was a poor relic Olympic White. Black or Sonic Blue would be nice in the future. Here are some pics of its current status.
22. Black, ltd edition lefty Stingray from the Indonesian factory but set up in the States before shipping. Great bass with all the expected Stingray tones. Bass in great nick apart from a small blemish on headstock. Comes with bespoke gigbag. currently strung with roundwounds and included are a set of lightly tested ernie ball flats and an ernie ball strap.
