1.
... Will appreciate any help on that topic.
You could do worse that this, for the very modest cost... Mickey Baker's Complete Course In Jazz Guitar .. Don't be put off by the title; have a look inside (or buy it on 'spec; it's worth every penny, whatever...), and give it a go. I bought this (in ignorance, at the time...) nearly fifty years ago, and still go through it now and again (I've bought it several times over, as copies got lost or worn out...). There is a Book 2, which is equally excellent, but start off with the first one, then go wild and splash out on the follow-up when you're ready. Just my tuppence-worth; hope this helps.
 2.
...super happy with how this has come out!
...and rightly so. I'll freely admit that this is far from my 'speciality subject', but NIN and Marilyn Manson would not be disgraced in producing stuff of this quality. Two special mentions: the drums are very, very good, nicely mixed in their 'sweet spot', neither too buried nor 'in your face', and the cymbals cut through very well indeed. Congratulations, too to ol' Leather Lungs, whose pipes are in full working order. Incomprehensible lyrics, which is probably a shame, but that's quite the norm, it seems, in this vein. Nevertheless, stout vocals, again superbly placed in the sonic field. The rest..? No less admirable, and equally well served by the mix, allowing the wall of sound to support the themes and evolutions tastefully, and more than competently. Yes, I include the bass in that, although my old cloth ears are unable to unpick the weave and weft of the arrangement. Nothing sticks out, though; no broken threads. Oh, sorry; that was accidental. 'Broken'. Apt, but involuntary. Nowt Broken there; carry on like that and you'll (all...) become famous one day. Good Stuff, well done all concerned; thanks for sharing. .
 3.
Well, no dad. I'm not attempting to defend these vocal effects, its just an observation?
The ' ' smiley that I often use denotes, I hope, a certain languid, 'tongue-in-cheek', sardonic intention, usually (but not always...) for posts supposed to be 'dead-pan' humour. I understand that this does not, in every case, get interpreted in that fashion, for which I apologise. No malice intended; respect. Cool.
 4.
I hope you're right, because there does seem to be a growing trend of using these heavily processed effects on vocals in both chart and non chart music...
Slightly less so in operatic circles.
 5.
stupid question time , granted probably theoretical due to accuracy issues , but supposing you re-recorded the bass line along to the original , inverted this wave form and mixed together , would that not eliminate the bass track I'll get my coat
Yes (theoretically...), along with any other stray frequencies shared from the other instruments and voices. Nice try, though; 6/10 for effort.
 6. Mmm... Braised gayageum..!
 7. ... and even the parsley is wilting in this heat. What are we to eat, eh..? And there's me, partial to a nice shamisen pie.
 8.
Kinda like a hammered dulcimer?
Yes, but different , and without the hammers.
 9.
Maybe but those days flu
You were smoking like a chimney..?
 10. ^ That's not really a 'budget' option, methinks.
 11.
...my singing sounds a tad naff with a blocked nose, honest, my only reservation is a blocked nose
S'not stopped you before. 12. Yes, they'll fit OK, it seems. As to a 'Jaco' sound, any Jazz will get somewhere there with adequate strings, a nice amp and reasonably competent playing. A 'Wal' sound would be a different kettle of fish; I don't think that there's much short of a Wal for that, but could be wrong. Not sure if any of this helps much; the real answer's a lemon: suck it and see.
 13.
...I'm off stateside for the rest of the mumph.
Bon voyage, mon cher.
 14.
It's for a six sting. ...
This ... Bartolini M44S-B/T ... ... seems to be the equivalent (it's a 'Singularity' design, like the P46...), but it's 100 mm long. What p/up cavity do you have, and what p/ups are presently in there..? Would routing pose a problem to you..?
 15.
So to be more specific with the 'kind' of sound I'm after...
It says in the clip that these are P46 p/ups. Isn't that close enough information for what you're after..? A search on the Bartolini site brings up all the variants of that p/up.

 17. Depends on whether they're 'tuned' to 440 or 438, maybe..?
 18.
... Anyone offer up a suitable set from the list offered here by them?:...
Bartolini link, corrected ...
 19.
... it's absolutely not suitable for that pic!...
S'not stopped you before. ... ... (Nor others here, n'est-ce pas, Lenny..? )
 20.
... Will let you all know how this story unfolds.
21.
...Am I wrong?
It may take some time for the new formation to become familiar. It may be wise to change nothing (anybody...) until you've all become more accustomed. It's pretty sterile trying to sound as you all were before. An option, if anyone insists, is to use the DFA knob, either on the bass, the amp or a pedal. Astute miming can convince some psychologically that things are greatly improved with its use. Just my tuppence-worth.
