  1. [quote name='laranjo' timestamp='1493163106' post='3286218'] Cant find my sale post , did i anything wrong?... [/quote] Yes, I'm afraid so. A common error from the Continent in using a decimal '.' when typing in the price; you must not use punctuation; just enter as a whole number. Your post has been deleted; post it again with the price, in £, but without the 'thousands' separator, please. Hope this helps.
  2. [quote name='AdamWoodBass' timestamp='1493115723' post='3285675']...bus out the reverb and isolate... [/quote] Although it's easy (and immediate...) to simply add an fx directly to a track, I often use a second track for the fx and send the instrument to it. Especially useful when wanting a common treatment for several tracks, of course, but has the added advantage of enabling isolation of the effect for solo listening, without the 'dry' track. Probably not how one would go about setting up a 'one-off' 'quick and dirty' trial impro, but can be useful. I have some set-ups of the sort saved as templates, so I find it no more fiddly to do than just selecting 'New Project'. Just sayin'.
  3. [quote name='AdamWoodBass' timestamp='1493114861' post='3285660']... single track in Reaper with a stock reverb setting... [/quote] Do you still hear this interference when listening to the 'dry' track, with no treatment at all..?
  4. Proof, if ever I needed it, then, of the clothness of my ears, as I hear nothing untoward in there at all. Beautiful atmospheric playing, quite 'celtic' at times, with a hot finger-picking section, then back to calm reflection, and an unsettling 'seventh' final note. There is a gentle reverb in there, which I took to be the sound of a studio 'stone room', except that you're recording using DI..! In that case, I'd say that it's an excellent fx unit, tastefully contoured to produce a very natural and flattering effect. A splendid piece, showing up some of the qualities of a superb bass, and even more qualities of a sensitive bass player. Thanks for sharing; I'd change nothing there at all (but my ears are 'shot', so ignore the above... ).
  5. [quote name='MoonBassAlpha' timestamp='1493032934' post='3284936'] Are we going to be treated to your monthly review roundup? [/quote] I'm tempted, as every month, but have you seen how many (excellent...) entries there are..? 14..! How to do justice to 'em all..? No promises; I'll try, and see how far I get. Apologies if I really can't finish 'em all off, and it's your fault if I slip back down the wellness ladder. S'not easy (but it's so much fun..! ). Still, I have until the 20th April to do the job, eh..?
  6. [quote name='Skol303' timestamp='1493026052' post='3284848']... [color=#800000][size=5][b]Voting ends at midnight on Sunday 20th April[/b][/size][/color] [/quote] ... or [b]Sunday 30th April[/b], whichever comes latest..!
  7. [quote name='blue' timestamp='1492965568' post='3284453'] Do headliners play pubs in the UK?... [/quote] Yes, in the sense of being at the 'head' of the posters and flyers. The term in Europe does not imply anything special in status more than that. Our band (The Daub'z...) have often been at the top of the bill, but we're hardly the Stones or Springsteen..!
  8. [quote name='Greg.Bassman' timestamp='1492962811' post='3284423']... [font=arial,helvetica,sans-serif][color=#000000]I wondered if[/color][color=#000000] anyone here[/color][color=#000000] could [/color][color=#000000]suggest [/color][color=#000000]anything that may help please?...[/color][/font] [/quote] Good evening, Greg ... Probably too many attachments already uploaded; a 'clean-up' of your older photos may be in order..? Try this... Go to your 'My Profile' (your pseudo, top right...). Select 'Edit my Profile' (black button a bit below...). Select 'Manage Attachments' (in the list on the left...). They are listed in date order. Navigate to oldest, select those to be deleted (tick boxes on the right...). Select 'Delete Selected' (grey button at bottom right of list...). Repeat, page by page, until all unwanted attachments are deleted. Using the BBCode link supplied by an external photo account such as Imgur or Flickr is a good idea, of course; even more so if using higher resolution photos. Your quota limit would never be reached using this method, and the photos are better presented. Just sayin'; that's what I do, and never need to worry about quotas. Hope this helps; meanwhile... Have a nice day Douglas
  9. [quote name='MoonBassAlpha' timestamp='1492793947' post='3283320']... Oh, and Dad3353, this time i really should sack the drummer (and everyone else on this session!)... [/quote] Indeed not..! The very essence of 'authentic'..! Sounds like me on a good day, so thumb is up, and not only for the drumming.
  10. London Calling (The Clash...)..?
  11. [quote name='CamdenRob' timestamp='1492798763' post='3283369']...with a broader musical palate*. ... *Ive attempted to spell this three times and I'm still not convinced [/quote] That's correct; well done.
  12. [quote name='dood' timestamp='1492792331' post='3283303']...and interesting musical segways... [/quote] Such as these..? The word you were looking for is, I believe, 'segue'. A common enough mix-up, but always good for a quick chortle.
  13. I don't know what these streaming sites are like for classical music, but I can't see myself listening to Mahler or Schubert in that way. CD's, and DVD's are the way for me; many have the video, too, to enjoy..!
  14. [quote name='SH73' timestamp='1492695546' post='3282431'] I re recorded the bass and re mastered the song (see the link above) tried to get the best balance, and NO I won`t turn the bass down anymore, I am a bass player and this is a bass forum [/quote] Don't mind me, I'm a drummer and I like to hear a nice, clear bass drum..! It's a shame, as what I hear is a fine composition, well played, but truly spoiled by that infernal 'clucking', as if someone is going 'Tut..! Tut..!' over the 'hard' passage. Still, as I said before, if that's your 'style', that's your 'style'. Don't mind me; I'm a drummer.
  15. I can't remember ever having bought a 'download', but have often enough bought a CD, either at a gig, or having heard a U-tube or the like. I've even bought a couple after recommendation through Basschat..! It's true, of course, that I'm old, so a physical medium is much preferred (harder to misplace, despite my eternal managing of my hard disks contents..! ).
  16. [quote name='Prime_BASS' timestamp='1492666081' post='3282055']... You either have to double your cabbage... [/quote]
  17. I'll stave off the temptation to add another pun in this topic.
  18. [quote name='AdamWoodBass' timestamp='1492644048' post='3282023']... Enjoy... [/quote] And enjoy I did..! Well played, decently composed and arranged, cleanly recorded; what's not to like..? I liked the staggered intro, followed by a riff suitable for 'looping' [i]à la [/i]Ed Sheeran, with a free-floating melody layered on top. Maybe a smidgen crowded towards the end..? Particular kudos for the drums; excellent. Thanks for sharing; any more to come..? As for the question: I've not done much, so far, today, but there's still time, isn't there..?
  19. [quote name='thebrig' timestamp='1492641888' post='3282006']... So again, my question is, [b]Am I wrong to in wanting to learn the set/songs properly? [/b] [/quote] No, indeed you're not, but you are wrong in expecting them all to have the same goals/standards/motivation as yourself. They have, apparently, different ambitions; either accept that, or cut your losses and find like-minded folks to play with. Either choice is fine; it's your call.
  20. [quote name='Rocker' timestamp='1492616353' post='3281676'] My experience with Bass and Guitar instruction book is not good. My eyesight is poor and trying to read tab is difficult. I get round this by scanning the book to a file which I can enlarge on the screen. Like golf, I think it is difficult to learn how to play bass from a book. If one exists, I have not found it yet... [/quote] This method uses very little tab; indeed, not much at all that needs 'reading' music. Much use is made of helpful diagrams; the author has faith in 'shapes' as being a good way of getting the message across. In that sense, it's a method quite different (but complementary...) to other approaches. It may not work for everyone, of course, but is easy to assimilate, just the same.
  21. [quote name='Burrito' timestamp='1492602036' post='3281518']... Has anyone used this or have any thoughts they'd care to share on it?... [/quote] I've got this, amongst many other bass methods, and found it to be very useful, over a long period. Maybe best if studied progressively from the very beginning, and advancing in order, step by step. Some initial knowledge is required, which an intermediate, autodidact bass player would probably have. Especially useful studied in conjunction with other methods, I'd say, such as the Hal Leonard bass method. The book's a 'keeper'; don't expect to absorb all of it just be flicking through. Some (agreeable...) effort is required of the student, but results follow on. Recommended.
  22. [quote name='SH73' timestamp='1492603273' post='3281536']...That clicking must be me playing bass hard? [/quote] Well, if that's part of your technique and playing style, I suppose there's not much to be done. Maybe others would care to comment..? After all, I'm only a drummer.
