  1. Good evening, Bernie, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  2. Good evening, Andy, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share.
  3. I saw them at some strange 'underground' club/festival. Enjoyed it, but understood little of what was going on. Fine times.
  4. They look to be well made; what was spilt on them, though..? It might polish out with T-Cut. ...
  5. I've a modest Alesis kit (Nitro Mesh...) which I use to trigger a modest laptop, loaded with Superior Drummer 3. A great sound, and fun to play. The important things to look for..? Cymbals don't react like metal ones, so one has to adjust one's style, and the hi-hat, too, has a very different feel. It won't replace my Camco kit, but it's darned good. The whole thing (s/h kit, refurb laptop, software etc...) comes to around £1000. Good cymbals start at £200 or so, alone, so it's good value, I reckon. Yes, there's better stuff, but my Vst drums would be hard to beat for sound quality.
  6. ... and it becomes the Seller's turn to be wary. If the goods are sold, then there's a claim made by the Buyer, the Seller looses out almost every time. It's a bit 'Catch 22', these days.
  7. We don't 'hear' an earthquake, but its effects are often spectacular.
  8. They're often not as good.

If I knew what that was, I suspect I'd be giving it a miss. And 'No, I don't want a link', thanks all the same. Back to Mahler for me, I'm afraid.
  10. Better there than stains on ... No, on second thoughts.

Yes, one can have too much of a Good Thing. Special mention, however, for the original use of the Mattress Bedsprings in the background. Little used these day; I wonder why..?
  12. So, just the mankini then, eh..?
  13. You're new here, aren't you..? ...

So... Thanks for the 'ear-worm'. ...
  15. Assuming it's a 'third generation' model (if not, you don't need Control...), download here, with no hassle... Focusrite Solo Control... Hope this helps.
  16. Good afternoon, Marvin, and ... Plenty to read and amuse you here, and lots to learn and share. (Careful; we already have an active 'Marvin', who has a brain the size as a planet..! )
  17. Fixed.
  18. OK, so I'm stuffed then, eh..? ~#+-* mumble mumble *#~+. If it helps, I can give you a UK address, when the time comes...
  19. I've, provisionally, a bass programmed for later on this year, when cross-channel transport becomes more reasonable, so I'm not in 'need' before maybe June or July. No rush, lad (but before DB5, just the same..! ).
  20. Get in line, please. You'll get yours after I've received mine. ... ('cos mine got lost in the post, and there's been none available since ...)
  21. That's probably a Good Thing, for composers in general. In this case, after a single listen-through, he's right to feel a little nervous. Unfounded, really, as the opus stands up on its merits; most of the criticism stemming from the genre and personal taste, rather than its existence. I'm a drummer, so found it a bit difficult (no, rather too 'edgy'...), as it's properly composed (for the genre...), but executed too mechanically, with 'artificial' variances. It's true, though, that some drummers do play like that, so... Not keen on the incessant insistance of the beat in general, but it fits the subject. I'm not a great fan of 'riffs', so maybe not the best judge of music in this vein; the bloke has done well, and I did manage to listen all the way through (not always the case with me..!). It won't go into my collection, but, then again, I didn't buy the Gojira disks, either. Good luck to the fellow. He gets a 'Thumb's up'.
