There are two 'difficult' parts to this. The first is the obtention of a file that a 3D printer can work with. Scanning can be done, with the right equipment, but there are those able to create darned good files 'from scratch', with enough experience in 3D modelling. Once one has the file, the next issue would be the material. Most domestic, hobby, printers use PLA filament, which is a very inexpensive plastic 'wire'. It's easy and cheap to work with, but does not have the mechanical qualities for all uses. Other filaments exist (notably ABS or nylon, but many more...), some of which can only be used by professional printers, often costing... well, even more than that..! For the RC 'planes I build, the parts I print (dummy motors, pilots, accessories...) have no other needs except to receive acrylic paint well, but for moving parts subject to wear, a more robust solution would be to get a quote from a 3D firm. The Yellow Pages would be a good start, or a web search. The economy of this depends on the importance, really. When PPE visors were required, they were cheap to do. A gear wheel could be pennies, could be pounds, depending on specification. Hope this helps.

There you go, the .stl file I have. I use 3D Builder, Sketch-Up and Blender, and will use these as part of my 'learning curve' to attempt modification of this file, but it may take some time. Meanwhile, I can print this this evening, as a trial. If you've 3D software on hand, I'd be grateful for a revised version, incorporating the bevels you've mentioned. Any chance..? I've sent similar stuff all over the world, and am quite able to fill in any Post Office forms that may crop up. Items of the sort are not for sale; they are freely offered, post free. All I ask (and usually obtain...) is a wide smile, s'all. The cost of stuff like this is not even pennies, and the printing occurs in 'temps masqué', whilst I'm asleep in bed, or typing on t'interweb. @BigRedX : The files I have are not for exact replicas, and would not fool a museum curator checking for originality; they're 3D-printed, not moulded nor cast. I'll print 'em 'as is' for now, and we'll see how suitable they are, once painted. The printer is now set up, ready, so I'll do a test run this evening.

I may be able to beat them on price. I've been asked for some funny ol' things, mainly from fellow RC 'plane enthusiasts. A couple of pilot projects, for some US buddies ... One for France ... It doesn't always go to plan, though...

Is that centre to centre..? The file I have has 21.5, centre to centre. Measure from the right side of the 'A' hole (sorry..! ) to the right side of the 'B' hole. I'll adjust to what you come up with...

It's certainly 'doable', at 45mm. I'll set the machine up tomorrow, print one out and post a photo. If it's of good enough quality, would it need painting (I'd suggest white, with a gold top surface...)..? Once it's validated, it's no more bother doing two than one, so put your name down if you're happy with the what I come up with. Yes, but it won't fool anyone. Wotchit, matey; I've much stranger 'friends' that I can 'call upon'.

I can neither confirm nor deny, as I don't follow these things quite as closely as some here, it seems. There is, in general, and in my limited vision of things, far less 'panic' about this scourge, and still less agitation on getting everyone vaccinated. There's an ongoing programme, aimed at the most exposed (health staff and care workers...) and vulnerable (those in care homes, or o a very delicate disposition...), but it's certainly not a topic of discussion in the circles I frequent, at all. Everyone I know and see, here, are taking modestly reasonable precautions (it's been a long while since I saw anyone 'out and about' without a mask...), and the authorities take quite a stern line with those flouting the curfew measures, such as the rave event a couple of weeks back. I can't speak for the Big Cities (Our Daughter in a nurse in Paris, and has few concerns...), but I think it's just taking its course, at the pace at which these things take their course. There's no talk of concerts or the like before the summer, at the earliest; more likely autumn, really, and even then on a smaller scale than in the past. Wholesale vaccination is not the most efficient method for eradication, though, as I've mentioned before. 'Ring vaccination' works, as long as one is able to both detect early, and account for the persons in that vicinity. It may be too late for that now, though.

No, these things are... well, not exactly a 'scam' as such; they're just a way of milking 49 Euros out of anyone willing to send the money. It's perfectly possible that they do, indeed, chuck out a host of bilge-worthy promotion material over the InterWeb, but the added value of any stuff they may (or may not...) put out is a big, fat zero. 'Bin any messages from folks like this' is my recommendation. ... That's be 12s 6d, please. I accept postal orders.
