1. Buyer pulled out due to personal reasons. Still available
  2.
You sold it twice............and bought it back both times?
I'm a slow learner
  3. I was a fool to ever sell mine! luckily it was always on Basschat so I've been able to buy it back (twice). Best of luck with trading it, amazing basses.
  4.
Great bass and Jase is a great guy to deal with. Surprised it's still here.
Thanks Chris - I'm a little surprised myself and will be very sad to see it go. This will go on ebay tomorrow as well to reach a wider audience...
  5. Greg bought an ET280 from me, nice & easy transaction, would deal with him again anytime.
  6. Bump for the (wet) Sunday crowds who aren't particularly royalist.
  7.
Anything accepted in part-ex?
I might consider it, but I'll wait a little to see if there are any cash buyers first mate. PM's replied
  8. With great reluctance I've finally pushed myself to a position where I need to sell this wonderful bass:

Build completed late 2004 at the old Jay Street Sadowsky NYC shop
Solid ash one-piece body finished in '59 burst with a tort guard
Birdseye maple 20 fret neck, 9" radius, 1 3/4" width
Chrome hardware, including pickup ashtray
J pickup installed in 70's location
Weight just under 8lbs, with perfect balance
Old style Sadowsky fitted case (and all the original paperwork)
Volume pot upgraded to 500k which is now standard (was 250k in older models)
Sadowsky D tuner included (currently not fitted)
There is one tiny little area on the back that got a small scratch (in the clearcoat only), but other than that and the usual paint/pickguard swirling it's excellent. here's a shot of the scratch £1950 delivered in the UK - or collection/meet up possible (and preferred) Any questions, fire away.... Edit: forgot to mention one thing, the TI jazz flats are not staying on the bass, I'll replace them with some Sadowsky Black Label flats
  9.
Oh yeah, it was you Jas - the passive humbucker one was your first wasn't it?
That's right Dave - I wasn't entirely sure about decades at that point so I sold it. Longer term though it did lead me on a little decade-adventure once it had all sunk in and now I wouldn't be without one. If I could have sold my current one I'd have kept the dark star one...but they are very much a niche bass. OP beware...they are awesome, but not an easy thing to sell on. Maybe they break the mould a little too much for some eh
  10. Not that I'm really in your area (if I was you would be welcome to try)... I did buy & sell my passive Humbucker here. Both the single coil and humbuckers are a great sounding bass. Personally I preferred the single coils (and the dark star one I had even more). The necks are awesome, as long as you like that "slim-jazz-neck-thing" although the US laklands have a different feel to the skylines. This has been relisted and still didn't sell..might be worth contacting the seller? 11. I saved the image to my PC then tried to zoom in - then laughed out loud. Bigger pic please, all I can see is a sunbursty blur
  12. Big fan of Fret Doctor myself http://www.willcuttguitars.com/accessories/fret-doctor
  13.
£450! Was that from a shop, as it seems waaaaay over the odds to me.
I'm not sure that one actually sold at that price, just what was being asked. I agree it was certainly steep. It was on some euro sales forum if I recall.
  14. I've bought one of these myself recently but it turned out to be a bit of a wreck so I lost the motivation to get it finished in any hurry. I'd be interested in buying, as between the 2 basses I'm sure I could assemble one good one If I recall from when I was looking, they can fetch around £450 in mint condition, but yours looks a long way from that I'm afraid. Let me know when you have an idea of what you want for it.
  15. I've always loved the look of this bass, ever since it was first hanging on the wall in the Bass Merchant (if I recall correctly?) Thank god I don't want to venture into 5 strings or I'd be in a quandary. Best of luck with the sale
  16. Not wanting to teach you to suck eggs but... Are the saddles parallel with the bridge plate? I only ask as I know some people try to align the saddles in a way that literally mimics the radius of the fingerboard. Obviously this can mean that the saddles adjacent to each other will have a slight angle between them, instead of making contact with the entire flat surface on the end. Other than that it seems a bit odd. I would guess that the height adjustment screws are effectively sliding about on the shiny base plate, something that would easily be cured by getting a bridge with little channels for each saddle. Unless you can think of a way of making the surface of the bridge plate a little more grippy (without it looking awful)...maybe one layer of sellotape neatly placed across the plate where the saddles are?
  17. Having sold a bass to Martin last year, he was kind enough to allow me the opportunity to get it back A pleasure to deal with at all times. Thanks again.
  18. Perfectly safe to do - some slight variation on voltage in Europe (220-240v) but the frequency is the same at 50Hz. So other than a different plug, go for it
  19.
Mesa Walkabout Scout 1x12 Combo which sounds fine. Before that I was using Markbass with Ampeg cab and before that Ashdown, which all also sounded fine. I've got a Phil Jones Bass Briefcase too, which also sounds fine.
I think theres a lot of truth in that minimal response Dave... I've had a few different rigs, and they all sounded good - some were lighter than others, some louder. My current rig ticks all the boxes I ever wanted from a rig really; capable of moving a lot of air, nice smooth sound and reasonably lightweight. It also fits in my car boot easily! I could have a smaller and/or lighter rig, but to be honest its about as small and light as it needs to be whilst being way more powerful than I usually need anyway. Awesome.
  20.
Wes, being a mate of mine, very kindly let me have a play on this bass whenever he had it with him. I honestly think it is one of the most stunning Precisions I have ever had pleasure of playing and well worth the price tag. Good luck with the sale!
You are right there, it's a really nice bass. Some unfortunate logistics got in the way of the pending trade, but now it's sold anyway and on its way up north. Thanks all
  21. I can certainly vouch for this one as being very nice, if I wasn't in a phase of culling basses I'd have already bought it back before Kev put it on here. Best of luck with the sale, I may yet change my mind (it's been known)
  22. I wrote a response but now I'm just confused all round. Is your truss rod screwed in fully clockwise? or did you mean unsrewed fully anit-clockwise?
  23. This is now on hold pending an (unexpected) trade offer
