1. I took this in partial trade for my Mike Lull P4 deal with Clarky recently. Primarily to release as much cash as possible and intending to sell it straight on, however it was so nice it's taken me this long to put it up for sale. Great sounding bass, lots of projection (for an acoustic), nice DB style tone and good quality. If anything its actually made me want a proper DB again (doh!) Previous thread here: http://basschat.co.u..._1#entry2245139 Exactly as it came to me, looking to recover £525. Collection from Ipswich area preferred, but a meet up is possible, and I can bubble wrap and cardboard the hard case for postage if necessary.

Kyle bought a Pod X3 from me recently - great to deal with, no hassles at all.

4. 'Birdseye' is a naturally occuring figuring in maple so there is no reason that a bass could not get lucky and land a neck with some figuring. I've seen vintage basses with it and obviously plenty without. What are the chances? impossible to give you a number beyond the fact that birdseye occurs in about 1% of maple.
5.
No-one bought it yet? Bugger.
+1
6.
This... Not his dearest bass by a long shot, but still out of my reach.
Looks like something an elf would use to kill orcs
7. Not particularly extravagant but I'd love a short scale Lakland Decade with Dark Stars fitted.
8. Couldnt possibly let an entire year go by without some bass deal related to Clarky - so we just sneaked in a quick trade before Xmas:) Roll on the next one!
9. Sale didn't happen so another week and another bump.
10. I went from a pair of Berg 12's to a Big baby and I have to say I like both. There is certainly a difference in sound though, the Bergs added significant "colour" in comparison to the BF. It was a very nice sounding colour though.
11. Interesting little tale along these lines - I recently came to a realisation that when I first bought the Pino bass (from a bloke in Dagenham many years ago) it had mismatched strings on it. E/A were Labella 760FLs and the D/G were TI's. It would have seemed immediately obvious due to the lack of silks at the bridge end, but I had mistakenly assumed they had gone so far in their authentic relicing that they had burnt/scraped back the silks to stop them running over the saddles (as some people do). It was only on really close inspection I noticed that the ribbon of the flat winding was wound in the opposite direction on the E/A. Another give away was when the silk at the tuner end started to fall off in a big way and I could see the "coarseness" of the winding - which looked very familiar to my sadowsky flats (which I remembered are made by Labella). So for all those years I had a mismatched set on there and it sounded really good! Recently restrung it with a set of the Labellas, but you know what. I now prefer the TI's a lot more so kept those on. I have to add that as the TI's age they really do improve from the sound when new IMO.
12. Another BC'er who was a pleasure to deal with.
13. Paul bought some strings and was as patient as can be (whilst I changed my mind!). Good egg
14. Bought a pod X3 from Steve - excellent bloke to deal with
15. Weekend bump - this might be close to sold but the buyer has gone very quiet all of a sudden...
16. Barrie - the neck is certainly less chunky than the Pino (less chunky than my Sad NYC was as well). Much more akin to the neck profile on an AC bass, which is one of the factors I think Jimmy has got spot on. Let me know if you want more details like measurements.
17. Another week, another bump - down to £1600
18. I came this " " close to selling my Pino this weekend as I'd be more than happy with the Lull. Still can't bring myself to do it though. So, Sunday bump for the Lull.
19.
I'l take the sunbeams! Been thinking about trying some different strings!
PM'd
20. I think matched headstocks look better with a rosewood board, and even better with solid colours instead of bursts. But matched + burst + maple = no no for me. The black just looks cheap.
21.
When you say the La Bellas are 'cut (barely)', do you mean they're a little bit short..?
I mean I didn't cut the G & D string and only took about 2" off the A and 3" off the E. Labellas now sold anyway
22. 1x Set of DR Sunbeams 45-105, cut for a 4 in-line Fender £20 posted [s]1x Set of Labella Flats 760FL 43-104, cut (barely) for a 4 in-line Fender £28 posted [/s]SOLD Both sets are almost unused, went on for a few mins, decided they were not what I was after then they came off again.
23.
Such an amazing pbass can't believe it is still here bud !!!!
I'm struggling with this concept as well - took it to rehearsal Sunday night and it sounded awesome. Really full and punchy. I'll use it for another week or 2 at this rate and maybe reconsider my plans.
