  1. My first bass was a Westone Thunder 1A. I remember thinking they were the best thing since sliced bread...ah, those were the days. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/134678698600?hash=item1f5b79da68:g:mTsAAOSwqnVkw8FR&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAAwE3gclNUeAHvS%2BLPe0r7GCpsBebVmQM%2F2BIywYBwnGvY9c5dd4jusIapWxZr09ReBly30ZxuZfR7ALXZjUpJGegxhEMAFk70Z5uYI3c0MkXBdO4CZgLNj2idHlJUzJdHxuOKQkPbknR4Kmh2CG4e7i6OutJHkfG2J5%2BxJ2p89bed7tHkV1cEhzq9gCGCKgPba%2BpLCngUksxFfjnrNBOWde76oHE9H1MxHkp%2FyfmGxgZRIhzFhtE8tvnCjGOshagJqA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR-SB5-C6Yg
  2. Isn't it the case that moving pianos makes them go out of tune? How much does it cost to have one tuned?
  3. A bomb in Wardour Street - The Jam
  4. Agent orange - Tori Amos
  5. I have the Funky bass book - a good read IIRC. Pretty sure that I paid more than £2 (what can you get for £2 nowadays?).
  6. Madness...madness I say!!! This is an absolute steal at this price. There's one on ebay currently for £800 which is still a fair price for a bass of this quality. If I didn't already have one I'd be all over this. In fact, I paid more than this for my fretted. Come on people, it's £550 not your first born. Could be your best buy of the year.
  7. Smalltown boy - Bronski Beat

  10. Push comes to shove(l) - Freddie McGregor
  11. Can you feel it - Jackson 5
  12. Always and forever- Heatwave
  13. Ideal for getting one back on the neighbours with noisy kids.
  14. I never really considered these as "real" Trace Elliots even though they did have one thing in common with your full cream milk TEs - weight!! For a small practice amp they don't half weigh something.
  15. My late sister was in a care home for the last 10 years of her life which had a fella come in and do Brat Pack, Nat King Cole, Andy Williams, etc. You might find a few classics on these.. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Music-Watch-Girls-Various/dp/B00000JP1J https://www.amazon.co.uk/Music-Watch-Girls-Various-Artists/dp/B00002R0W2/ref=pd_bxgy_sccl_1/257-5527647-3643221?pd_rd_w=bkYoW&content-id=amzn1.sym.40f919ed-e530-4b1a-8d7e-39de6587208d&pf_rd_p=40f919ed-e530-4b1a-8d7e-39de6587208d&pf_rd_r=45MGYG5J4E2JKNE5YPYP&pd_rd_wg=IyBIS&pd_rd_r=d30e7344-8557-4051-b47d-b6bf7d0e32e0&pd_rd_i=B00002R0W2&psc=1
  16. What is worse is when there are more than one version of the same band touring simultaneously. Lots of examples - I watched the documentary on the Bay City Rollers recently which stated that at one time there were 3 different versions of the band on tour at one stage (coincidently one was booked for a company do by one of my neighbours).
  17. Happy talk - Captain Sensible
  18. The Shoop shoop song - Cher
  19. The more I see these (two now) the more I like them. GLWTS

  24. Say, say, say - McCartney and Jackson
  25. I'm disappointed...not with the website, with Mark. It's been a bit of a saga getting the Aguilar preamp fitted to my Spector 6er but Mark kept making reassuring noises about helping the techs install it. This amounted to sending the current techs a pdf with 5 wiring diagrams without clarifying which to use. Despite his reassurances he has been uncontactable by phone. The last contact was Mark referring to Aguilar themselves, in the States, and 8 hours time difference. Feels like he's washed his hands of the matter despite his comments about providing support. As I said, disappointed 😞 ☹
