I think that this belongs to one of our own - no not Harry Kane - I believe its@Gareth Hughes. IIRC photos appear in Jack's Obscure Musical Backwaters thread. Oops, I may be wrong (happened once before) - I confused this with Roger2611's SB801.

I think you're going to fit right in here. There are a whole bunch of basses which fit your wish list, deciding which one(s) you want is part of the fun. Personally I'd be looking at the G&L Tribute range - affordable quality.

I normally struggle to side with some of his public comments but on this occasion I must show my admiration for Morrisey for his condemnation of the Music bosses and their whimsical choices in who they are backing this week. Not only are they "makers and breakers" of artists but also of people. Shocking that normally talentless individuals wield such power over the future of the creative.

I sent the author a message asking him to get in touch. I commented on the diversity of his inspiration and to clarify what type of music he was aiming for. I'm not clear how old he is or if he has just listed some of his favourite bands. I'll keep you posted.

Found an add on Gumtree for a "talented and versatile bass player". Author of the ad states: "I am currently living in London, with a set of new songs and I am looking up to setting something fresh and unique here. Influences of the material range from Velvet underground, The Jam, The Smiths, Talking Heads, Jazz/Latin, Nick Cave, Ian Dury, soul, electronic, punk, tropical, Dylan, Lou reed, and Orbison, some of the music also taps into social commentary." I like the sound of some of this but less so some of the other. Feels far too diverse and unfocussed. Comments?

The white one is a classic thing of beauty. I wouldn't normally like a pink bass but the one on the right is so shockingly bright that I quite like it.
-
No doubting the quality of their work. I'm sure the 6 month turnaround time would be off-putting for some though.

I received a quote. A bit more than I was expecting TBH. "..300€ for a 4-string and 350€ for a 5-string ETS Headless system in gold. Spacing doesn’t matter." That's £256 for the 4 string and £299 for the 5er.

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
TheGreek replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
I'm a minimalist in general. I prefer design to be concise and compact. I'm not overly impressed with the bridge which hints at 60s design rather than being contemporary. -

Q: are buyers of the JMJ replacing the bridge? -
So many positive and clearly heart felt messages here. RIP

Completely understand not wanting to do covers - there are some songs which drive me mental and I can't bring myself to play. Speaking to other musicians, most play covers out of frustration but would love to do originals. Finding the right people to do what that can be really maddening though.
