  1. I have no issues with either J or P profile necks. The only bass I've ever had issues with the neck profile was on a Wal.
  2. From reviews I've read they're just normal Rotos 66s with a black coating which, according to reviews, is prone to wearing off. So they are essentially "less expensive" Black Beauties or Auroras. At first I thought they were Tapewounds due to the wording "coated". Not the case. Rotosound are producing well priced tapewounds. https://www.stringsdirect.co.uk/strings-c1/string-sets-c865/bass-guitar-c34/rotosound-tru-bass-flatwound-rs88ld-bass-strings-65-115-black-nylon-p799?gclid=Cj0KCQjw2NyFBhDoARIsAMtHtZ6pBbV-qAJIRRArikZ5ZRV-WwxR7CJcYs1OO24wzffLZgMmFa1NKDAaAiPQEALw_wcB#fo_c=1949&fo_k=4b58082cbb4dd65feb18ed9194ed8d28&fo_s=gplauk?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term= There's nothing revolutionary about the Nexus range - except maybe the price.
  3. Am I going senile or suffering with Deja Vu? I'm sure there's an existing thread... I'm not going mad!!
  4. E Type - Corduroy
  5. That's like something from the history books. Lots of love for Ashdown here - rightfully. Keep up the good work @Ashdown Engineering

  10. Why would you want to devalue a high end instrument? If it isn't what you want, sell it and buy what you do want - even if it means commissioning a new bass.
  11. Y Viva Espana - Sylvia (hopefully not OUR Sylvia, The Bluejay)
  12. A spine (after all we are the back bone of the music)
  13. I think you'll find that's the collective noun for guitarists
  14. Boogie Oogie Oogie - A Taste of Honey
  15. Apeman - The Kinks
  16. Looks like we're shy One Horse - Colourbox
  17. I had a Suitcase when they were relatively new. People couldn't believe how loud it was for "a silly little amp". They've earned their reputation.
  18. I bought one for a project which never happened. Nice to know that they live up to your expectations.
  19. There always seems to be plenty of Drum Kits on Preloved.com which come up when I type "Bass" in "Musical instruments". Bass drum obviously the trigger.
  20. After posting photos of some knobs I have (ooh, err Matron) which fit a Yamaha BB Tony got in contact to say he'd like some. Brief discussion and there's money in my account. It's clear that Tony is an asset to this forum...trade with confidence...
  21. This has been discussed many times before - who actually made the first bass guitar? Article:
  22. If anybody needs any I have a box of white "sucked sweets" knobs.
  23. Thanks Phil I'm sure I won't be the only BCer signing up
