  1. Can't stay away from you - Gloria Estafan
  2. Looks reminiscent of the Bass Collection Nanyo. If it's anything like them it must be a monster. Tempted...but then lots of basses make me feel that. GLWTS.
  3. I'd love to be able to justify buying this. Looks amazing..
  4. Spanish eyes - Al Martino
  5. Send Martin a message telling him what you want and ask for a quote. I think it's his partner who does the 3D printing.
  6. Gimme Gimme Gimme - Abba
  7. The drugs don't work - The Verve
  8. Job lot of Ash blanks - we could all chip in and have all future custom builds made of Ash I suppose.
  9. I think that Mike may want to point out that the price of £70 is mistyped.
  10. Hey Mike Can you copy and paste the text and start a new ad then delete the one which has the incorrect information on? I've been in a similar position before...
  11. Heaven nose I'm miserable now - The Smifffs
  12. Wide awake in a Dream - Alton Ellis
  13. I know about soaking the leather courtesy of YT. I was planning on pushing the badge onto a piece of wood and hitting that. I was hoping that somebody would suggest a novel image such as an embossed light switch/ door handle, etc. Like this:
  14. I need to pick the collective brains of the BC massive. As stated above I'm looking at making a leather scratchplate for this bass but I would prefer if it wasn't plain. There are numerous videos on YT showing how to stamp an image into the leather so I'm thinking about an image to stamp and what to use. For instance I already have a Staffordshire Bull terrier badge (about the size of a 10p piece) that I could use. I'm hoping that somebody will say "have you thought of..." It can't include lettering which would be reversed so no logos. If anybody has the ability to print a stamp then please get in touch to discuss. Thanks people.
  15. Clearly managed to avoid the Brainwashing that goes on here (till now!!) 😆😆🧠🌊
  16. I acquired a Spector 6er recently - plays OK but really needs a makeover. The original Holoflash finish was sprayed over in a non- descript grey, has mismatched machine heads and needs a general tidy up. I've damaged my hand so I'm limited to how much I can play - no time like the present, especially as the weather is improving so I can work outside - I took it upon myself to strip the bass down and take the body back to natural. Alder, I believe - please correct me if I'm wrong. Before: I've also taken it upon myself to soften the curves on the body and get rid of those right angles. Currently: Plan is to replace the pvc scratchplate with a leather one. I've managed to grab some leather scraps from ebay for a fiver - more than enough to make mistakes without worrying too much. May need to glue the leather to something to prevent it curling off - trip to craft shop when the leather arrives. Still much more to do - more sanding tomorrow. More photos as it progresses.
  17. So the 6er arrived with a few issues including knobs which seem to have been glued on. I've attacked it with a palm sander and elbow grease - so it's gone from grey to natural. 19. She's a lady - Tom Jones
  20. Watch out for new shoes and handbags appearing out of nowhere.
  21. No ordinary love - Sade
  22. Blueberry Hill - Fats Domino
  23. Sad if this didn't sell. As you say, "a lot of bass for your money"...the parts must be worth more than the asking price.
  24. A whole roll of lining paper is about 99p - use what you need and give the rest to some kids to draw on.
  25. I have a set of (hidden) 1x coil per string pickups in my Psilos bass - very happy with them. I commissioned Martin to build a set of MM Ray style pickups for my Kawai which I was less pleased with - really because I expected something special but got something not out of the ordinary. Can't deny that he knows what he's doing though.
