The only strings I know of with that colour combination are Elites. But I don't know if they do brass strings or not. I hope that helps!
Well funny you should say that because I was told they were Elites but the set that I bought were Player Series 45's and they dont sound at all the same and had no silks on!
Could they be another series?
Oh and just double checked. The ones Im after have Steel/Crome Rings. My bad!!

Recently inherited some strings from a VM Jazz. Love them and want to get some more but Im buggered if I know what they are............
Round wound, Red silk at the ring and Blue silk at the tail. All rings are Steel/Crome. The only ones close are the Steve Harris Signature Jazz77's by Rotosound but they are Flats. (He had them but the red and blue on because he's a West Ham Fan!)
Oh if Ive missed a string ID thread my appolagies but I did do a few searches on here but got nothing. Sounds like a good idea if you ask me
Cheers in advance
Just thinking back the the BBC rock star documentary when Townsend was asked where his aggressive rhthym style came from and he said, 'When I realised I was not the lead guitarist in the band!'
Thats right, they had a lead Drummer
Damn it The Who are THE best. (Gets the emotions going every time)

I'd also like to know what circuit's (as in active) anyone has used with wizards. Im considering a set of 64's for a fretless VM Jazz but not sure what active to get. Idealy Id be going for the tone/tone/volume option.
cheers in advance

I wouldnt trust this bloke as far as I could spit. If you read the adds they are 'flowered up' with "fender this" and "fender that". "A nice set of new strings from the US" Woopy, they could be any old crap. Funny how he gets all vaige then! Hes an amateur trying to make out he knows what hes talking about. If he a chancer trying to pass of 'set up' crap to 'starter' players since by definition they would fall for all that 'fender this / fender that' boll@xs he talks. By saying "Please dont touch the truss rod since it took ages for me to get it flat" is either saying a) One more 1/4 turn and that baby's going to go bang big style or your a 14 year old kid and you dont know what your buying but Im the expert so give me your money (but dont tell your dad).
A much better investment opportunity agreed, but rather difficult to get a tune out of a reel of copper
Whats a pickup then?
A
Ive seen that ad before for that bass, a few months ago I think. I recognise it since I live about 2 miles from Street. If I knew what I was looking at I would pop over and take a look. But I dont so I wont.
A
you can use a bigger drill bit than is needed. Just drill slowly (finger and thumb) until it breaks through the shoulder of the head where it meets the shaft and you can lift out the pup.

On the face of it they look nice. Like the look of the MM pickup and maple board. Could be a Ray killer but probably not lol!! If they did a fretless then perhaps.................

Got one of these and can vouch for the preamp being top notch. Comes with an in built tuner to. Very nice sounding acoustic. Strange though, My serial number is higher than yours and I bought mine March last year!

The thumbrest, yeah... the ebony piece looks at me from the desk in a recriminatory fashion. I haven't yet done anything with it...
One day, one day...
That would be a paper weight then!
My Washburn AB10 is currently strung with Bronze string but I was wondering how it would sound with normal roundwounds. Is this worth trying or has anyone tried this and can let me know if its worth doing or are Bronze strings a better choice for acoustic basses?
So to answer your question Linus27................... erm dunno cuz it dont look like anyones actually tried standard rounds on an acoustic
OT but which black nylons do you use? I tried some Roto TruBass on my Eko fretless acoustic and they were too plasticky sounding. I'm currently using TI Flats on it
Im actualy using Trubass nylons on my Kingman. Yes I agree there is a plasticy element to them but with a bit of tweeking of the eq and gentle playing you can realy get a nice warm psudo DB sound (For want of a better term since you will never get that true DB sound from anything other than a DB). Im actually awaiting delivery of some GHS Nylons as we speak and in a couple of weeks I should have an Ashbury Fretless which is making my mouth water
A
I thought they all came with bronzes!! lol. Anyway you can put what ever string you like on them (within the relms of sanity) That metalic zing of rounds and bronzes on an acoustic has a certain charme but when you put Black Nylon wounds on............
Once you've tried Black you'll never go back
