I apologise in advance if I repeat some already mentioned . anyway : The crunch - rah band Brim full of asha Popcorn- hot butter Sugar sugar- the Archie's Devils answer-atomic rooster ( not sure if tomorrow night reached the charts) Hawk wind - silver machine Roadrunner- Jonathan richman Manhattan transfer- d'mour Zager& evan-25 25 The ruts- Babylons burning Space - magic fly ..
I'd argue the Ruts weren't a one hit wonder, they appeared on Top of the Pops with 3 different singles.. Babylons Burning was their highest chart position tho, Good old local lads from Southall and the first Punk Band I ever saw.

Zodiac Mindwarp - Prime mover got a top 20 I think. Loved it when it came out. Comedy value http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtnCcWOS7y8

I use one to even out my playing on certain songs, normally anything that is thumb and pluck or when I know I dig in too much, seems to give me a little more headroom.. Sometimes also just to smooth things out going into pedals and always like a little on recordings. Not on 100% of the time anymore, used to use it like that tho.

I have some live video of Norman giving it some with one, he brought it over when they played in Finland (bit distorted on the vid, but sounded great there ) I do have some cleaner sound sample form the sound check I'll try dig out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_y5XmaR3Fs
Having slept on it I have just ordered the Rumble 500. Hopefully I will not grow out of it too quickly. Thanks again for all the friendly advice. Cheers.
Good choice. Nearly 2 years on mine and haven't had gas for any other amps. (except an unpractial 810 valve setup )

Congrats, look forward to seeing the pics. Once I packup all the giging I might sell on a few of mine to try get a YOB 64 P that I can drool over each day. -
We play swords of a 1000 men and although it always goes down well it has also caused lots of drunken men to link arms and jump around quite aggressively
That's how it went down at the TenPole gigs Delilah - Tom Jones

Double Albums That Work and the One That Don't
Highfox replied to spectoremg's topic in General Discussion
The Clash - London Calling My favorite album, been a constant play for me since it's release. I can't understand some of the comments above, there isn't a bad track on it -
Tasty playing and nice tone imo. Good band on support that night as well
It's got to be a sound long term investment, there will presumably always be collectors willing to pay a premium for a pretty important bit of Leo Fender's legacy, especially as it seems to be in near pristine condition. You'd have to be seriously wealthy to buy it and gig it though.
I'd agree with that. There is always going to be someone out there that wants it.

Looks ok to me.. Some of the photo's are a bit fuzzy.. can't see the truss rod wheel clearly etc.

Nice. Thanks for the review. I put an order in last week for a white one. Hopefully it will scratch the itch.

NBD (Well, it was actually on Saturday!) Fender Roadworn P
Highfox replied to Marc S's topic in Bass Guitars
And the 'road wear' plus the thinner, quicker-wearing finish makes the roadworn basses that much more expensive? It would make sense to buy the Classic and 'road wear' it yourself... most effectively by gigging it! Saves a few hundred pounds, no?
You'd have to try both to decide -
Possibly. I've seen nothing to suggest a difference and all the spec sheets seem the same. Also my own 50s classic is very light, but it could easily just be a one off. Where did you get the information re select woods?
Maybe I made that up.. most people report the Roadworns being leightweight. I seem to remember reading somewhere maybe TB, that they used select dried woods for the resonance.. -
Marc, they do make them unroadworn, in P basses at least, not sure about Jazz. In black Nitro: http://intl.fender.c...gerboard-black/ In Red, Sunburst or Blonde poly: http://intl.fender.c...inum-pickguard/
I think they are slightly different, except for the black lacquer in your first link. The Roadworns to my knowlage are made from select light woods.. The 50's Classic arent. -

Congrats. Great basses. Might be even more awesome in a PJ config.. I like that idea. I've also been thinking to swap the scratch plate over on my fiesta red RW as well, think I have a spare blackplate somewhere if it fits. -
Wish I could get my fingers to move that fast when I need it. Not my kind of thing musically (if you can call it that) but some serious talent for sure.
