  1. Oh and when Jon Shuker was setting it up with these strings, he measured: 37.5mm nut 22mm 1st 24.25mm 12th
  2. Nope. I specced this and ordered from Lakland. Pickup cover was sprayed with the same paint as the body at my request to make it look more like a regular P. I sold it to @Platypus. I note it was in The Gallery for a while too. I’ve got a clip of it with these strings on (presuming they are the ones I sold it with). Rhodes Herb type riff with Lakland bass.mp3
  3. Have you tried running both together, set to different settings? It sounds brilliant.
  4. Yes, just make sure to check the input level on each preset after you’ve clicked on it before plucking a note or you might deafen yourself. Input levels vary vastly depending on who programmed the sound. (I have been asking SA for a global override that sets every preset to whatever your desired level is but C4 code space is exhausted. Hopefully it’ll make it into an eventual next version of it.)
  5. Yes. I think it’s incompatible with the mode where you long press the footswitch to overwrite the preset settings. Set pedal to “default” mode and enable quick switching in the settings menu of the desktop app.
  6. Nope, enable quick-switching in the settings menu.
  7. You can long press the footswitch to change banks so you could put one sound in one bank, the other in the other bank at the same toggle position.
  8. I had the non + version and loved it. Sold it for cheap too, which I now regret of course.
  9. Always wanted to try one of these. I’m trying to have fewer pedals not more. (Failing too.)
  10. It may have been a leak. It’s NAMM this week so it may well become official then. it’s here: https://toy-love.hatenablog.com/entry/2024/01/15/000840 also looks like gear4music have a page but has been pulled:
  11. They announce stuff years before it’s anywhere near finished. The UB-Xa was announced about 6 years ago and only just came out a month or so ago.
  12. To be honest I’m glad they’ve beat Behringer to the punch on this.
  13. Bring it on! LPF and Phaser next please! @andybassdoyle
  14. How on earth is this still here? I don’t need a second one of these but it’s sorely tempting!
  15. There’s a manual up now, still in progress. https://mortrix.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MUM/overview?homepageId=33630
  16. For me, this is peak Star Wars (without any actual Star Wars imagery): https://www.udo-audio.com/products
  17. Thanks. MIDI control is not what these collaborations are about. One can always put it in a MIDI loop switcher. What I think folks might see as missing is the lack of footswitch capability for the “grit” and “scoop” controls. Had it installed for weeks but have barely had any time on it sadly as there’s some major life stuff going on at the moment which doesn’t look like letting up any time soon. 😞
  18. Yay! SA are sending me one of these soon with some other exciting new stuff! @thisisswanbon do you fancy amending your thread title to accurately reflect the name of the pedal so that it will be able to be found more easily using the search function?
  19. Not exactly set up. Most of my pedals are still boxed up at the moment. Just dug out the MXR for comparison. I’m finding the filter at about 1 o’clock gets closest to the OC-2 thing. The more open settings are pretty gritty; I’d likely not use them on their own but probably would sound good going into an envelope filter. Being able to further lower the lowpass filter cutoff frequency on the octave down does give some nice fatness when blending in the clean signal. For soloed octave down I think I might slightly prefer the MXR; there’s not much difference, mostly in when the note starts to “bloom” (higher frequencies coming in) after being struck. It varies from note to note as to when it happens. On the Cog, the bloom happens slower overall I think. For dry+octave I think the Cog has the edge as the octave doesn’t seem to dominate the blend as much as the MXR does. When setting up, I matched the clean volumes of both pedals and then the octave volumes of both pedals (with dry muted) and then blended at those noted settings. (Filter on Cog at 1 o’clock to tone match.) Oddly though, I find I have to back the octave down off on the MXR when blended to get it to sound as transparent as the Cog. The MXR dry signal seems to be at unity at noon. The Cog seems to be at unity on maximum. With the octave down it’s almost the opposite. When the MXR octave down is at maximum the Cog matches it at its noon position. Having the switch the two channels is really nice. The Cog has a slightly dirtier tone overall. (I don’t mean this negatively at all; it seems to have a bit more “character” whereas the MXR is clean, almost to the point of sterility. It reminds me of the slight grit in vintage synths compared to modern ones. I like it.) This might be something to do with the tracking circuit; the MXR tracks a smidge better for me on the “problem” notes and isn’t as audible when just nudging strings across the pickup as the Cog. It could easily also be to to do with the aforementioned “bloom” happening later so there aren’t as many mid frequencies fighting with each other at the beginning of the note. Not sure if I’ll keep it yet. Can’t fault it at all, I just am not playing much bass at present, have a thousand and one more pressing things to do and could probably use the money for more pressing family stuff.
