1.
Is this the model troy Sanders from mastodon used to use?
I think that was a Fender Prophecy, but I may be wrong. I'm still on the lookout an all original Lyte!
 2.
NME is a load of sh*t that just feature flavour of the month bands that are crap! Why include the guy out of the cribs? hes an ok player and everything but hes no Geddy! its all just a popularity poll
Although Geddy does seem to be holding the top slot at the moment. It's not worth people getting their pants in a twist though, as is the case with every 'Top 10 best ever things in the world ever' lists it's all completely subjective. Some kid reading the NME may have decided to pick up a bass because they loved an Arctic Monkeys record, therefore to that kid the fella from the Arctic Monkeys is more important than Geddy Lee or Jaco. I started playing bass because I was obsessed with Fugazi records, so I'd naturally give Joe Lally a higher score than Mark King. Speaking of which, I'm off to vote for Wentz as he has the best haircut.
 3. Interesting! Does the larger headstock and tuners add a bit more neck dive than the original neck though?
 4.
I'd love to have a mustang, but I doubt it would perform for punk - I'd need more tension.
The guy from Fake Problems plays one and gets a pretty decent tone from the few songs I've heard. I have the same problem though, I was all set to buy one of those shortscale Danos to save my back a bit, but I don't think it would lend itself to a rock n' roll band due to lack of string tension.
 5.
I agree the bass tone on Day and Age is crap. But on the jonathan Ross show when they played 'Human' he used a Geddy Lee and the tone really made a difference to the song imo. It was like having his old tone implemented into the new material.
Either way, hearing that song is still much akin to having poo pushed into your ears. And I still haven't recovered from the 'are we dancer' debacle.

 7.
Well thats where I have an issue with the last two albums. My analysis is as follows... On HotFuss the melody and all of the 'movement' in the songs comes from bass and drums. The drumming is exceptional and every bar is different to the last. In contrast, the guitar parts on HotFuss are pretty simple and actually take on an 'underpinning' role to the bass part, which moves around all over the shop. Take 'Jenny' for example.... guitar part is straight 16ths in 8 bar pieces and the 'lead' is played on bass. Same for Somebody Told Me and All The Things. By contrast the second and third albums revert back to 'normal' arrangements, with the bass high in the mix - but reduced to root note plodding on most occasions. The drum parts are also simplified and, to quote our drummer, "dull". Guitars are layered up and take on their traditional role. So although I still like The Killers, they plain and simple don't write 'em like they used to.
I completely agree, I quite enjoyed the first half of Hot Fuss, recently they seemed to have simultaneously become dull and intensely irritating!

 9.
Ditto, a big influence on me, especially stuff like Goodbye Forever. He was back to the Jazz on the last tour.
'From Here to Infirmary' for me, I love that record, although I like pretty much everything they've done. I'm still not convinced by Agony and Irony, although the bass tone is nice. He was still on the Precisions when I saw them in Bristol earlier this year, although I guess he's entitled to switch!
Adriano was one of my favourite players, shame he got fat and let his form slip. Not sure how precise his play is these days though.
Some of his lines on the new record are great, especially 'In Vein'. Not sure about the actual songs though! He looked skinnier than ever last time I saw them, not that it really matters. Sorry to veer a bit off topic folks!

 11. I love that green jazz, Andriano is one of my favourite players too. He only seems to play precisions now though! I'm definitely liking the look of the Sunburst Geddy!
 12. My usual question, what's the weight and balance like?!
 13. Do you happen to know the approximate weight of this bass? Does it neck dive at all? Cheers!
 14. Unfortunately I don't live that close to London to try it out, the weight of a bass is a big issue for me! Have a bump anyways...
 15. Just out of interest, what's the weight like on this bass? Cheers.
 16.
This is a bargain, and with a little work these little beasties can take on the world: I did my first ever gig with one of these (and I think the only thing I had modified at the time was the bridge).
That looks superb! What's the weight/neckdive like on these little basses?
 17. You'd be hard pushed to find many indie rock bassists who don't play Fenders... That obviously doesn't mean you have to by any means though, it's nice to see some different basses out there. Are their any particular players whose bass sound you like?
 18. I don't suppose you have a rough idea of the weight of this bass? I've been lusting after a Precision Lyte to ease my back pain and this looks fairly similar...
 19. Hey folks, I've been musing over selling my old Ashdown ABM 500 but I have no idea what to ask for it! It's one of the original EVO's which I've owned for around 7 or 8 years now, it's an amazing sounding amp that's never let me down, but I'm thinking of getting something a bit smaller. Basically it seems to be getting heavier and I'm getting wussier with age! I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, I didn't want to put it in the for sale section as I haven't convinced myself to sell it yet, but if anyone has any idea of it's worth then please let me know... Many thanks!
 20. He had great tone and some sweet lines, especially on Pinkerton. I think I remember reading that the pickups he used were made by Schecter and the neck was a Jazz profile with a tele style headstock? I pretty rapidly lost interest after he left the band!
 21. That's great, thank you for all the feedback! Strange question, but I don't suppose any owners have the means to weigh their aforementioned bass? It's just that I have no way of trying one out seeing as searches in London and Bristol have proved fruitless! If it clocks in less than my Lakland Glaub then it'll be ideal for gigging....
 22. I know this is an old thread but I was wondering if anyone owns or has tried one of these basses? I haven't been able to find one in the shops, but due to back issues I'd like to get an idea of weight before buying one. I know they're made of basswood so I'm hoping they're not overly heavy! Cheers!

 25.
Mike has taken on some extra hands to build the cabs, leaving him to build basses, and has built up stock ready for the official launch.
Great review! Any ideas when the official launch will be?
