1. I could be wrong but don't think they're available over here as yet? They do look interesting though...
2. That is a pretty terrible clip! I really like the look of their basses though...
3.
I like the modern-shaped, super slim- bodied SR. It's an amazing design - it's quite incredible how they've contoured the body. Unfortunately I just cannot get on with it's sound; it's slightly harsh with a nasty metallic zing - and I don't like the deeply silly, unsatisfying tone control that goes from 'finger' to 'scooped'. It sounds pretty awful to my ears. The SR has got everything right ergonomically and is just waiting for better pickups and tone controls. I don't know why they don't use the 'sonic arch' pickups in their Ashula model from now on. They sound fantastic and a are huge improvement on the ibby standards and Barts.
I played an SR years ago and I've always discounted them for the fact it had that harsh zingy sound you describe, which I just couldn't seem to tame. Maybe that's just because I'm used to passive Fender style basses though. I notice a few people mentioning the light weight of the SR's though? That sounds quite appealing!

It's interesting how everyone is harping on about high prices when the top two basses pictured are apparently going to be under the £400 mark. I'm not sure how official that is, but it seems prudent to reserve judgement until the basses are actually on the high street rather than just speculating.
Are these new models? The older ones have been available for a few years now. Anyway, it looks like Bass Direct are stockists.
Yes, the top two are new models and I'm under the impression that there's no UK pricing on them yet...
They're nice, but ridiculously overpriced in this country compared to how they're priced in the US- even more so than usual.
Whereabouts? I didn't think they were available in the UK yet?
7.
A 32inch scale jazz neck for my P bass would be brilliant!
I was thinking the opposite for my jazz with a 30" p neck, especially if it helps with the balance of neckdivey fenders!
8. That is a lovely looking bass! Shame they're not planning on a VM Mustang though...
9. I actually have a brand new set of Rotosound RS66S strings knocking about if you're interested, they're 40/50/75/90 gauge and were bought for an abandoned project so you can have them for a discounted rate! Drop me a line if you're interested.
10. I tried weighing my basses with a fishing scale once and it seemed to give a different reading every time! Is this scale a bit more accurate?
11.
Lou Barlow - Dinosaur Jr
I always liked 'Where You Been' the most, I think that was Mike Johnson on bass though! Joe Lally from Fugazi was the main reason that I started playing bass, I still love that band to this day. Another vote for Kim Deal, and Kim Coletta from Jawbox, Jason Black from Hot Water Music and Dan Andriano from Alkaline Trio...
12.

I had one of these basses in shortscale for a while, I thought it was my perfect lightweight bass until I plugged it in! Those pickups have to be the lowest output I've ever experienced and the hum whilst playing at gig volume was unbearable. I was seriously thinking about replacing the pickups and sorting the shielding but it would have cost pretty much the same amount as the bass. The fact that the bridge is held on with one screw is a tad worrying too. It would be worth giving Prosebass a shout through this very forum though, he builds quality lightweight basses at very competitive prices.
13. Hot Water Music - No Division To celebrate the fact we've just got tickets to see one of my favourite bands that I thought I'd never get to see live again!
14.
Looks lovelly! Does that mean you'll sell me your Lakland?
Hmmm, I am very attached to my Lakland and my Jazz but I never say never, I'll have to see how much they're worth in todays market and most importantly how the newbie works out first! Thanks for the kind words everyone, the bass should hopefully be with me in time for practice next week...
15. Definitely mate, should hopefully be mine very soon! Here's the final pics, apparently the little fella weighs in at just over 6lbs!
16. Now sold, thanks! Pedalboard will be hitting a charity shop at this rate though!
17. It took me longer to get that joke than it really should have! £17 delivered, anyone?
18. Completion date is getting closer...
19. Here's a few shots of the neck in progress:
20. I have a brand new Danelectro Cool Cat Transparent Overdrive V2 pedal for sale, this is one of the nicer Dano pedals in a metal case with true bypass. It's fully boxed with instructions and has never been used. I'm looking for somewhere around the £20 mark delivered, but I'm open to offers. I also have a new Danelectro pedalboard still for sale if anyone is interested. Cheers!
21. Good morning, Here's the latest batch, fresh from the Prosebass bakery: Thru body stringing... ...into four piece saddle.
22. Cheers! here's a rough idea from the initial plans:
23. Getting closer to the money shots... Here's a pic of the routing, which has been 'future proofed' in case I want to add a second pup at a later date. Which is basically now tempting me into adding a second pickup straight away! There is also an extra cavity for a 9v in case I decide to go active in the future. These are all things that I hadn't even considered but make me glad that Paul is building me this bass. Here's a basic idea of how the cavity will be hidden! Last one for now... Cheers.
