1. Stage 2: The body is rough cut using forstner bit and the industrial strength band-saw. shaping with the spokeshave. I'm hoping I've teamed up the right blurbs with the right pictures here, more to follow shortly...
2. Hello, So, I've taken the plunge and opted to have a shiny new bass made just for me by that friendly gent (and answerer of many bass related queries) at Prosebass. This here thread is me sharing the updates from the Prosebass workshop with you, the nice people of Basschat. This build basically came about due to ongoing back problems I've been contending with and being unable to find a bass more comfortable than my much loved Lakland Glaub and Fender Jazz, but you probably don't want to hear about all that medical stuff. Anyways, after a long period of consultation and endless patience from Paul, a build spec was decided. This spec was basically to combine the sound of a P bass with the looks of a Grabber with a short scale neck pitched somewhere between the thickness of a J and a P. And all of this had to be wrapped up in a well balanced, lightweight & sexy looking package that could still make its mark in a noisy rock & roll band. Enough of my gassing, bring on the pics: Stage1: Body is American Ash 10mm top , mahogany back, slightly hollowed to reduce weight Neck is Hard Maple / Mahogany / Maple laminate Board is Indian Rosewood
3. Vibe and Trem pedals have been sold, pedalboard is still up for sale...
4. Ok, I need to get these shifted so I'll do the Vibe and Tremolo pedals £15 each delivered and the board with PSU and leads etc for £20 delivered! All brand new. Off to Ebay otherwise...
5. Hello, Thanks for the offer but I'm looking to get rid of pedals at the moment, I'll do the tremolo for cheaper if you're interested though? I should have mentioned that the pedal board is designed specifically for Danelectro pedals, so would be of limited use for other pedal types due to the footprints molded into the board. I'm open to offers though as it's not of much use to me. I also have the Dano Vibe, Drive, Distortion and Transparent OD pedals, I'm deciding what to keep and what to sell at present!
6. First up I have a brand new Danelectro Tremolo guitar pedal for sale, this is one of the nicer Dano pedals in a metal case with true bypass. It's fully boxed with instructions and has never been used. I think they go for around £30 so I'm looking for somewhere around the £20 mark delivered, but I'm open to offers. It's one of these: http://www.coolcattone.com/product_trem.html I'll also have a few more of the pedals from this range for sale in the next few weeks. I also have a brand new Danelectro Pedalboard for sale: http://www.coolcattone.com/product_pedal.html It's a moulded plastic affair designed for Dano pedals, that comes with DC power and all the cables required. They normally retail for £50 but it's yours for somewhere around the £30 mark. Make me an offer!
7. Enjoying the shout outs for Caleb Schofield and Scott Reeder, both of them fitted perfectly into their respective bands. I've wanted a grabber since I saw Schofield playing one! I heard Demon Cleaner for the first time in a while the other day too, soooo good! I'll opt for Dan Andriano from Alkaline Trio, he's played some really nice lines over the years as well as being a great singer and songwriter. I recall 'borrowing' a few of his lines for one of my old bands... I don't think I really dislike any bass players that much, I've always steered a bit clear of all the twiddly stuff though. I like to think it's because I like 'songs', but it's probably just because I can't do it.
8.
Its very well balanced and I personally dont notice any dive on it. Come and try it and see if you find it comfortable! Will.
Tempting, but unfortunately I live in Swindon!
9. Hello, What's the balance like on this bass? Any neck dive? Cheers
10.
im based in sussex- how much do you think courier would be? could get to southampton...
Apologies, this has now been sold pending the usual stuff. I'll let you know if anything changes. As for couriers, I once had a Warwick speaker I was selling virtually decimated by a courier so I'm a tad hesitant nowadays...
11. This is still up for sale, if anyone is willing to collect from Swindon/Hungerford/Newbury or thereabouts then I'll do you a deal!
12.
I prefer light 6-8lbs, but balance is probably more important to me as I hate a neck dragging on my shoulder.
I echo those sentiments, I've started to realise how important a well balanced bass is.
13.
If this was up for sale in a few weeks time i would be all over it.... Dan
It may well still be up for sale in a few weeks time though!
14.
Ahh i would really like this. I'll just have to see if the bank account allows it though... Dan
No worries, I'm open to offers! Just took this out of the cupboard to check it over and aside from a few scuffs on the corner protectors it's in near perfect condition. Bass Gallery appear to be selling them new for over £500 new! It's a great lightweight 8ohm cabinet that's deceptively loud and full sounding for it's size and weight. If anyone is near the Swindon area they're welcome to give it a try. Cheers.
15. If anyone is interested I'm looking for £300 for this cab, but offers are welcome! I can provide photos if required and the cab is currently residing in Swindon! Cheers, Phil
16. Sorry, just realised that I managed to post this in the wrong section, my bad.
17. I have an EBS Neo 12" cab that's been sat in our downstairs cupboard for a fair while now so I figured it may well be time to get rid of it. It was bought new a few years ago and has seen fairly limited usage in that time, mostly just as a bedroom amp and has been in storage for around 50% of its life! It's in good nick, just a tiny bit worn in one area but with no tears in the covering. The only problem is that one of the springy handles has lost it's spring, meaning that it's more of a floppy handle, but i'm sure it's an easy fix if necessary. I know these things retail for over £400 new, but I'm not sure what's a fair price to ask for this one as it's a few years old. I can provide pics if required! Cheers, Phil
18. PM'd, be good to know ballpark price and location too...
