4.
Hey Nick. Do you know if this bass will run without a battery in it (passively of course). Still enjoying it?
Hi Dave It has a Passive Bypass by pulling out the volume switch. I'm not sure if it would run without a battery in it but I guess it would.

 6.
How's that done Nick?
It's done at the bridge with the saddles Chris, but thinking logically it wouldn't have much effect at the nut end. It does make a difference though.
 7. I was talking with my other half about Basses earlier today and the conversation turned in to a "how many basses have you owned" conversation. I decided to have a wracking-my-brain session and this I'm ashamed to say is what I came up with.... Including my 2 current basses, I have owned 46 basses in my time which is quite frankly disgusting, especially considering how much I've spent on them. I have also owned 3 combos, 6 amps and 13 cabs at one time or another. Now, this is by no means a p*ssing contest but I would really like to know how many other basses people have owned in their time. In some ways, I would be more comforted by people who are more capricious and fickle than I am I hasten to add too that prior to Basschat, I owned 7 basses in total............now that's scary!!
 8.
Congrats, Nick - Those top of range PM's are really nice basses with a huge dark sound to them as well. I always play the "Supreme" model whenever I go to Electro Music.
Thanks Rich. I must say I took a punt on this as I didn't know a huge amount about Sandbergs and am totally blown away by the build quality, sound and playability
 9.
Thats really nice Nick - congrats. I like the dots on the neck too, unusual for a Sandberg (I tend to think their dot-free necks look bare). Looks like my bass, Sid's, steroid-boosted cousin!
Thanks Clarky. I knew you'd approve
 10.
Impressive, that looks like a beaut. I know you say it is light, do you know the weight? Just interested as I'm having problems when gigging at the moment, and I have been considering lighter options. Cheers, Gary
I'll weigh it properly after for you Gary, but I would say it's around 8lbs. It certainly is very comfortable. We played for nearly 3 hours on Friday and I had no issues whatsoever.
 11. I bought this bass off Me and My Bass (Chris) last week and it arrived safely on Thursday. To be honest, I wasn't sure I was going to like the active electronics as I have found them too harsh to my ears compared to passives. However, after plugging it in, I was very pleasantly surprised and decided to gig with it on Friday night. It sounds amazing and to my eye looks pretty cool too. I certainly didn't buy it for the relic job (it was too good a price to miss out on) but I am impressed exactly how subtle it is. I'm also told it looks great from the audience too!! A guy on Friday actually said that it looked like it had been my main go-to bass for the last 10 years or so. The neck is probably similar in dimensions to my old Lakland Duck Dunn, but string spacing can be adjusted to either Jazz or P Bass spacing depending on preference. It's incredibly light too (lighter than my 2008 Fender P Bass) and a joy to play.
 12. Good gig last night at The Woodman in Wimbledon Park. Started at 6pm for the after work drinkers and was due to finish at 9 but ended up playing until 10ish as the Pub didn't empty out as early as the Guvnor thought it would (it's a proper after work pub). Highlight of the night was at about 8pm the floor in front of us filled with toddlers dancing while the parents watched on! This was closely followed by the whole pub emptying shortly afterwards when a fight broke out at one of the Pool Tables. We of course carried on playing a la The Commitments. I gigged my new Sandberg PM4 for the first time and took the P Bass as a back up in case I didn't get on with it. Needless to say the P bass didn't get a look in- wow!! What a bass! Got fed and paid extra by the Landlord for playing longer than planned. A true Gent and a proper Guvnor. The Song that went down best on St George's Day? Whiskey In The Jar of course
 13. We've been booked to play at The Woodsman in Wimbledon tonight as part of their St George's Day Celebration (despite the band consisting of a Murphy, Molloy, Ellis and Sheehan ) It's a 6pm kickoff as according to the Landlord it's an after-work/tube commuter pub and by 9.30pm on a Friday it's not that full. I think maybe he's hired us to see if we can clear the pub earlier so he can have a quiet night! Has anyone played this venue before? We're in the main bar rather than the stage, but this is a new gig to me so any feedback would be much appreciated.
 14. I've just taken delivery of a Sandberg PM4 from Chris and it couldn't have been an easier more pleasant transaction. The bass is superb (pics to follow) and Chris is a fantastic guy to deal with. Thanks Chris
 15. I bought this from Neilb only last week, but no longer need it! For sale is a Rdail Bigshot i/o instrument selector in perfect condition. It's an excellent bit of kit and allows you to easily transition between 2 instruments (it even has a volume equaliser so both channels output the same volume). Here's some more details: http://www.guitarandampshop.co.uk/acatalog...Selector_2.html I want what I paid for it which is £50 plus £2P&P

 19. Some very interesting trade offers so far but still available. Thanks for all the interest so far
 20.
If only this was a 4 string. I cant believe your after another DD.
A man of your talent would be more than able to cope with a tiny little B string Dave Hope you're well mate. I 've just realised I never replied to your PM about Agents- sorry. As for another Duck Dunn? Yep, another one I regret letting go of!!
 21.
I recently acquired a November 2002 Musicman Stingray 5 in transparent purple, maple fingerboard, black pickguard and single Humbucker. It's in excellent condition apart from a small paint chip on the upper body (where the forearm rests) and comes with original case and all the candy. It plays beautifully and I spent last weekend giving the neck a proper clean and oil so it plays very fast and smooth. It's currently strung with a set of La Bella Flats. Problem is, I just don't like the sound of active basses (when will I ever learn?). I'm looking for a trade for a Fender US (new model) P or J bass or Lakland Duck Dunn. It really is a beautiful instrument in a lovely colour. Just not doing it for me sonically though
22.
does the SR5 have that same nasal quality of the 4?
It can do if you dial it in, but it doesn't seem as trebly as the Ray 4 to my ears. The bass EQ really adds some decent beef too
