1. http://www.gedo-musik.de/shop/en/36-double-bass-5-strings Out of stock I play 5 string elec bass exclusively but 4 on DB and EUB, my approach is totally different to playing the DB and I think in many ways it needs to be to avoid injury!
 2. Where is Owen? Gedo make a five string I think.....
 3. I haven't purchased an Apple product since the day they automatically gave me the U2 album
 4.
That was my exact thought, I did buy the pink one too but this would be the one I would've put up as his signature model.
Jazz body, musicman pickup in the right place, job done! If they made a five string version with a sparkle finish I think I'd have to buy one.
 5. Yes yes yes yes yes yes yes! This is what fender should be building instead of the one he hasn't used for a decade as his signature! Ace
 6.
Piss and chewing gum? Luxury. Round my way in SE London we cover them in vomit, used needles and tears.
Ooh get you living in the fancy bit!
 7.
Yep heard that before...never really listened closely to the lyrics but no doubt none of it will be acceptable in the crazy PC world we now all in habit...
It's just not a very happy go lucky subject for a wedding, I'm inclined to agree with her.
 8. Our female singer didn't like the lyrics to BS so it got binned before it started!
 9.
But the streets are paved with gold.....
Is that why they cover them in piss and chewing gum to stop people pinching them?
 10. It's a great little cab but it's a little bit boxy sounding to my ears with double bass, it didn't give me gas in the same way the Tricky Audio ones did, if they were more mainstream available off the shelf we'd see a lot more of those at gigs imo.
 11. Can I be the first to suggest getting a dep?
 12.
Can I be the first to say I'm not bi-curious?
I don't like having too many knobs to fiddle with
 13.
When duty calls...
14.
I have an aggressive form of arthritis and the pain in my hands can be pretty bad but the adrenaline of a gif means I never notice it at the time, can be crap after though. If it was me I would take painkillers (moderate amounts of alcohol also works well) and do it.
Awaiting an amusing 'gif' from Dad......
 15.
Very true, but not the two I mentioned as far as I know, and that's still very different to being a negative influence on the world.
I've got mixed feelings on the dogs trust but that's another thread, one we've previously done too.
 16.
Everybody contributing to this is to be applauded for not flying off the handle/shooting from the hip and generally taking my original question in the spirit is was intended despite it being a controversial issue Thank you Les
I think we can all see that your intentions are good, personally they wouldn't bother me even less so if you swapped one for a stars and stripes but it looks that ship has sailed. Get some new ones and keep rockin'
 17.
There must be loads, they just don't spring to mind easily. The RNLI and The Dogs trust are two that jump,to my mind but there must be loads, but I guess they are only 'local' as in the UK.
Most have become top heavy corporate monsters I won't support anymore.
 18. Such a great colour!
 19. I can't imagine there's a single organisation that grew to the point of having a recognised flag that the planet wouldn't have been better off without their existence.
 20.
... but also that the George Cross flag was not much in use as a national symbol before 1350 or thereabouts.
Ha, don't spoil my moment
 21.
Somewhat false equivalence there. I don't recall that flag being used a banner to preserve the ability to own another human being.
Erm? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slavery_in_Ireland You might want to read the part about "The Irish slave trade began to decline after William the Conqueror consolidated control of the English and Welsh coasts around 1080, and was dealt a severe blow when the Kingdom of England, one of its biggest markets, banned slavery in its territory in 1102."
 22.
I wonder how many people replying on this thread knew about the connotations previous to this week, or before 2015?
Erm... I don't think we're all that thick Tim.
 23.
The news isn't limited to our own countries anymore. It's global. These are the images that are flying across the world - via news sources and social media. This is what the majority will see. It's a very easy question for anyone wanting to use that flag - do you want to be associated with these images? The association and the assumption of support will be made irrespective of intent.
So it's a flag that represents a smaller area of a now United region of the world with a bloody history amongst it's neighbours going back centuries?
 24.
You'e just said you know nothing about the subject and now you preach about it? It started when the first anti-slavery President was elected. Not anti-potnoodle, or anti-sheep farming or anything else. The slaves had to be freed by force. I will bet you a shiny pound you would change your opinion after you've read a book or 2 on the subject.
Tim 'googled it' R
