1. Great pedal, lots of flexability and with an expression pedal a brilliant whammy. GLWTS
2. Ok so this falls into the needs must. I need some cash so I must sell an octaver. These are rather cool but it always seems to lose out to my OC2, is not getting gigged so up it goes. You know what this is but suffice to say some cracking analogue octave sounds. About 140 new, this is as new other than velcro on the bum. I even have the box for it. I will give you this box for free if you buy the pedal. Priced to sell and includes UK shipping.
3. If I'm honest I don't really understand drive pedals that well. Have tried a few new and getting there but this one is surplus to requirements. Lots of options and works great with passive basses, I've found that the best sounds are in the overdrive end rather than 'great vengeance' but you may disagree, especially if you are the kind of person who harbours a grudge. Someone has kindly pointed out that it it's an original DAM it's worth a lot more. I don't THINK it is, I paid around £85 I think, nice pedal in any event... Anyway, £50 to your door if your door happens to be in the UK. Any Q's let me know....
4. Great DB pre, works very well to tame the room and tidy up your signal. This one is used so priced accordingly, I've added some rubber feet as it's been used sitting on top of my amp. Price includes UK shipping. Not too much more to say really but pm me if you have any questions of course...
5. Has served me well and whilst pretty simply there is a decent range of envelope sounds to be had from this. Simply using other stuff these days so moving it on. £50 squids including UK postage. Total barg for a decent filter pedal.
6. I miss my old marseer. Fantastic bass glwts
7. He's not the only one. And I don't mean my 10 month old son. The thing is, whilst this might not be for everyone it's a totally amazing instrument. What is it with basses whereby we all seem to flip them about so much? Would love to give this baby a happy home... glwts By they way, how well does the midi pickup work in a practical/live situation?
8. Nice, would love to try one of these. Some superb sounds from my old pitchfactor. Are these a bit complex for live use i.e. adjusting on the fly?
9. Truly great experience dealing with Tony, excellent communication throughout the deal, flexible on the details of the trade we did, bass arrived exceptionally well packed in great condition. An excellent example of everything that is good about the forum. I would not hesitate to do business with Tony again.
10. Picked the beefbag up here, I don't think they make them any more. Really like it though, not sure how it compares to the meatbox but lots of fun dialing in subs from it...
11. A very nice collection of pedals there. Sadly not a view shared by either my wallet or Mrs bassdoyle. GLWTS...
12. Don't have what you want matey but these both look terrific... Best of luck..
13. If I wait a few days it will be free! Joking aside I had a play with this the other day and it's a great piece of kit. The flight case also has room for additional pedals to be routed in and switched from the main board. Very very nice and you will not be disappointed!
14. This was myself first 6, same colour and a great bass. Tbh I'm not sure I really knew what I had back then but I would get compliments on the sound from non bass players which I would now consider the gold standard of positive feedback. Re the specs I'm not sure but I would guess at 34 scale and 19mm spacing based on my recollection. A very nice 6 and a good example of what is good about bolt on necks. X
15. So I acquired this from Ville a while back. It is a very nice bass but ultimately not for me, I think in the main due to the longer scale length but in any case.... I've not really gigged the bass so I'll refer back to previous comments from Ville and Mikkel (hope you don't mind guys) regarding the instrument: --------------- Mikkel listed the specs as follows: '36" scale and 24 frets. Adjustable stringspacing 20-18mm. Mahogany body in a flamed maple sandwich. 5pc maple neck with wenge (i think!) stripes. Nice fat ebony fingerboard. Celinders famous humbuckers. Splittable hum/singlecoil. Active greengrove preamp. Master vol with push/pull active/passive, 2x Vol with push/pull coil tap (one for each PU), bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut. Gotoh hardware. This bass has been played. And the finish reflects that. Frets are in great condition.' This bass is buzzfree for me at about 2,5 mm under E string at 12th fret, the rest of the strings set accordingly for even feel. So I don't know if that is ultra low action or not. This bass is tied with my custom built 6 and the Fodera AJ 6 contrabass guitar I had for the most even feel and volume from B to C I've ever had. Even the C string has real authority to push through a 20-piece horn band. Mikkel's opinion on the tone: 'The sound is MASSIVE. Must be heard to be believed. First time I heard this bass was in a big live concert where the guy playing it was playing through a simple DI and straight in the board. The bass sounded like it has been recorded and mastered by one of the worlds best sound engineers. Focused, punchy and warm lows and a crystal clean treble without being harsh.' I would add that the B string works great for slap, tonally and with regard to feel. And there's a real clarity to the B string that I've had from nothing else except the AJ contrabass guitar. Lots of basses have B's with authority, but not clarity, here you get both. --------- So what I would like to add in the interests of full disclosure is that the bass is worn as per the comments above. Nothing major, it has just been well played so is not an exhibition piece. I'm reflecting this in my pricing. At the moment the bass is with Martin Petersen at the Gallery in Camden for some set up and tweaking, it should be available pretty soon. Sale is preferred but happy to consider trades for this, a decent P bass is probably top of the hit list at this point in time. x
16. Thanks so far. It is a bit of a challenge, the pjb gear eg cub is definitely the size and weight I'm after but I do have the sense that it may not be loud enough. This seems to be the gist of most feedback I can find. Really interested in this so please keep your thoughts coming. The other option of course is micro head and cab. Perhaps not quite as convenient but probably the answer to the volume?
17. Considering a micro ish combo. Something that will cover home use but also be light and convenient enough to pick up and take to jams or the like. Go bc!
