They're a forwarding company that use DHL, UPS etc and get massive discounts. Quick quote using the same dimesions of a bass tha I recently sent to the US using them, with DHL Air Express 3 day as the carrier: £79.11 door to door plus £9.00 for insurance up to £200 (you can specify whatever value you want, I just arbitrarily picked £200 becuase you said it wasn't worth that much). Go straight to DHL and it would be about £200 I rekon, so that's a good saving.

I have used their services. I have PAID those 'silly numbers', as you call them. The price I got from them was something like 70% cheaper than going straight to DHL. I have paid for the service, do you want to see the invoice? The waybill? Hell, the DHL tracking page still has the item I sent still on it. Don't understand why you're arguing really, are you happy paying far more than you need to? Have a look on the site, find out for yourself and thank me later if you like.

You do realise that if he did that and the bass was damaged/lost in transit your insurance payout would ammount to the £250 declared value? Not worth it in my opinion.

Out of curiousity I've just got a quote for shipping to the Philippines, using the the dimensions of the parcel containing the bass I sent to the US, plus a little bit more each just in case (which is a fair assumption, I think) and the price is £79.11 plus £22.50 for £1500 insurance. DHL is the carrier, 2-3 days delivery time. Whoever got a quote of £250.....

My suggestion of a 'campaign' to get him banned was probably a bit extreme, apologies, but I think my point still stands.

    For the record, I think the lengths that people went to get the bass reunited with its owner was brilliant and the fact that they succeeded, even better.
