Worth experimenting with different foams, some of the packing foam that comes in parcels, is plastic they tend to kill the sound, I found a very good foam out of an instrument carry case where you pull out sections of foam to fit, this allowed the strings to vibrate enough and damped them slowly. Another was a rubber cabinet door edging rubber strip. So keep experimenting to get the sound you want. Also alter the amount of foam so there is not too much pressure on the strings.

So my advice is to not go out with a mishmash of songs just because you know them but to choose songs that hit the target audience in your local band venues. Shock and awe is the order of the day here, if you rehearse hard and nail the numbers and own them you could play anything. Obscure punk numbers , some Ska, Pretenders, Corgi’s, Blondie throw in some Metal album tracks and one C&W that should floor um. Can't help saying why a 2 x 15" and a 4 x 12" ? Having said that is the amp 100Watt? You could use[size=1] [size=4][b]Kirchhoff's [/b][b]Current[/b][b]Law[/b][/size][/size][size=4].[/size] The 2 x15 will be two 8ohms in parallel = 4ohms and the 4 x 12" will be 8 ohm speakers in a series- parallel configuration. It’s all maths after that, Without putting pen to paper it looks like you may get away with it. as the higher wattage speakers are the two 8ohms in the 15 cab, but check how the 4 x12 is wired to be safe. I assume four 8 ohm speakers two in series parallel to another two in series. 8+8=16 8+8=16 in parallel = 16/2 = 8 ohm

I'm Paranoid about my band gear period, as I also own the PA and Monitors, Lights etc. I set up two basses on stands to acclimatise and tune them prior to going on, and I surround them with things to avoid clumsy people squeezing by. And that’s basically it; there are clumsy people and considerate careful people. You get to know those around you and which are which. Have you noticed the same people packing away are the ones that will just pull a mic lead till it comes free or snaps? They will fell drum and Mike stands in their haste phew!! I gunna lie down for a while, I've come over all angry for you .
