  1. Ash bought my Gretsch Baritone. Top bloke, instant payment. Thanks very much squire!
  2. This is brilliant value! Unfortunately I'm im Leicester otherwise I'd snap your hand off!!!!
  3. Evening! Sooo....after much thought (and general indecisiveness on my part) I've decided to part ways with my Gretsch baritone. It's fantastic but I just don't use it. It's immaculate! I'm the second owner and I bought it from a 72 year old Jazz guy!!! He'd had the bigsby trem taken off and a fixed bridge fitted as per the photos. As he said at the time, "what the bloody hell would you want a tremolo arm On a bass for?!" - to be said in thick brummy accent !!!!! He was from deepest darkest birmingham! It's in black sparkle and really is as new, I've listed below the stuff from the Gretsch site Body Body Shape: Jet™ Body Back: Laminated Hardwood Body Finish: Gloss Urethane Body Depth: 1.625" (41.3 mm) Body Width Lower Bout: 13.25" (336 mm) Neck Number of Frets: 22 Position Inlays: Dot Fretboard: Rosewood Neck Material: Maple Nut Width: 1.6875" (42.8 mm) Scale Length: 29.75" (756 mm) Electronics Pickup Configuration: HH Bridge Pickup: Gretsch® Mini Humbucking Neck Pickup: Gretsch® Mini Humbucking Pickup Switching: 3-Position Toggle: Position 1. Bridge Pickup, Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickups, Position 3. Neck Pickup Controls: Master Volume, Master Tone Hardware Hardware Finish: Chrome-Plated Tuning Machines: Vintage-Style Photos will follow as soon as I get back to my laptop! It's on flea bay for a BIN of £175. Happy to let it go to a BC'er for £150 ex delivery. I'm near Leicester if anyone wanted to pick it up rather than post. Cheers Matt
  4. Maaaan! Guy at out local 'boot fair had one of these....only wanted £6.2 million....sh*t it.....why did pass it up?????
  5. Pretty much in the description folks. It's a made in India one-black body, maple neck with rosewood board. All original.pups have yellowed over time but sounds great. Was bought as a project bass but now surplus. It's heavy! But at £45 it's a great starter/beater/project bass. Ideally collected from Leicester or post at buyers cost. Will pop some pics on later Cheers Matt
  6. I know this seller has been flagged before but this is unreal! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=390917331842 The postage alone is more than a new version of the bass itself, let alone adding the purchase price! I've mailed him to ask how he arrives at such a mental figure.....interested to see his response!

  8. Thanks for that I've taken the veneers to pretty much flat so there should be very little sanding needed, just didn't want to mess it up at this point, so really appreciate your help. Any recommendations on fretboard finish? Was thinking epoxy but will prob just go for an oiled finish.... Matt
  9. Posted this already in discussion section but maybe it's better suited here? Hi all First step taken into the world of fretless conversion! Bought an old encore, stripped it all down, taken the neck off, the frets out and stuck in and trimmed veneers....now to the sanding! Do I need to use a radius block? The radius of the neck...as far as I can tell....appears to be 14.5"??? But it looks almost flat....if I carefully (or little but even pressure ) will I be able to get away with it? Thanks Matt
