1.
Good God! That won't last long.....
It certainly shouldn't - excellent price for a superb instrument
2. Some of the guys on Talkbass report poor results with the Agi DB750 and Epi pairing (apparently, the two aren't particularly compatible). I've only used the 750 with an Epi ul112 at fairly low volume - no problem at all, it sounds gorgeous
3. Only used a DB750 - some say that the 751 has a more versatile and improved eq (though some of the components are less expensive). The 750 racks very neatly (mine's in an Agi 3u rack bag). One downside is the weight - around 46lbs. I've been inside mine to fit a UK 240v switch - it's beautifully engineered, extremely neat, and very solid. The chassis is really well built. Agi guarantee the DB750 for ten years - I think that's some indication of the company's confidence in road reliability. I've not had my 750 serviced - valves are in the pre stage only. I can't imagine it's too troublesome - the lid (top of the amp) has a lot of screws (about 20 I think) but when you've removed them, you can get access to all major components without much trouble.
4.
(Danish taxes and VAT, though, and I think that is more reasonable in the UK).
Hmmm...not for long! If I remember correctly, VAT is 25% in DK and duty around 5% - so around £4.3k to get a KBP into the UK? This makes the antigua precision an absolute bargain!
5. Plenty of interest - salivating already (sadly no cash to match the desire)
6. I couldn't agree more - a perfect ending!
7. The news offers a bit of stress relief for me. Sombody has snagged an absolute bargain!
8. In my opinion, the best £1600 any ERB player could spend anywhere in the world just now.
9.
I still dream of that one, lol.
Me too...it's daphne blue P/J friend is still available at a realistic price. That said, this teal is a very good price indeed!
10.
I think so. Who knows maybe pick it up in a few years time again. but definately done with the hassle of being in a touring band on a label.
Dreams turned to nightmares - at least you figured it out fast ('took me an age). Back on topic - any images of the 6u case?
11.
Got a new bass coming so may take this assuming the case is long and wide enough and I'll just recut the foam I'll give you a shout in a couple of days so we can meet up. Cheers
Saw the incoming and it's gorgeous - I think you have an Overwater custom (again stunning!) that I used to own. I'll measure thi width of the case (internally) and pm you.
12. Absolutely stunning - amazing condition for the age.
13. These are just gorgeous - I have the Vintage P and it's without doubt the most spectacular P style bass I've ever played. Chris Celinder is a genius.
14. Excellent gear, excellent prices - the DB750 is probably the best bass amp I've heard (and a great buy if you can lift it)
15. Great stuff - I picked up a DB112 a few weeks ago and have been very pleasantly surprised - very tight lows with loads of poke. The agi cabs (and amps) just look very cool too
16.
incredible bass! bridge screws aren't orginal tho
I wasn't too sure about that, however, I think you're right. Any other Fender experts got a view on the provenance and originality (of anything relating to the bass)?
17. In all seriousness, if there is another way to raise the requisite cash, I would take pursue it with vigour. That is the kind of bass that should be a one or two owner instrument. Staggering - a bass with real class and lots of memories.
18. Marvellous - such an individual and unique instrument. It looks to be very well constructed too - I love stuff like this
19. Yikes!!! Joint 1st for BC bargains this weekend
20. That's gorgeous and a great price!
21. Giveaway - Celinders are among the best of the best - thoroughly recommended (but this one is far too big for me)
22. Failure of this bass to move rapidly has me flabbergasted - some of the best instruments on the planet IMO. A clear sign of very difficult times.
23. Balance is generally very good given the extended upper horn and placement of the strap buttons - indeed, balance is much better than some of the Series and Sig models in my opinion (SC, MK, small standard etc.)
24.
I just need an EB3 to complete the package now.Hmmmm, who makes the best short scale EB3 type ?
That P is just glorious congratulations to builder and owner! On the question, Alembic do a nice copy.
