...at this point I can't help put post my "practicing at home rig" which only cost me £150 (granted the amp was broken but it was only a single resistor that needed replacing) and now it works fine. The crazy thing is if you go second hand there is no need to think small!

I'd never heard of pirate before reading this thread. It makes me glad to be in a band where the guitarist has a studio in his home. The only hazard I encounter is the possibility of tripping over Ralph.

Just had a noodle on one of these in GuitarGuitar. First 2 minutes of not quite fretting right on the fanned frets but grand after. Fit, finish and weight are really nice and I'm a big fan of the rotary controls. For someone lazy like me it makes it super easy to get a good range of useable tones. Action was potentially a little low for me but the neck was really playable and I was flying about it playing through a good few styles. Would definitely consider it if you want a modern P J that looks kind of Fender-y but not. I reckon if I was getting a Dingwall I'd still go D-Roc as I like the shape and they a stupidly good value second hand.

I wouldn't have bothered trying to talk with Pirate, I'd have just called the fire service right away. They'd confirm the place was safe, or not. They would then contact Pirate.

Decent rehearsal on Sunday, and Shout is in the set list for our gig in Wakefield which is good. Still enjoying the practice studio in general but at one point there was an awful eggy smell that put us off for a few minutes, so next time I'll be booking a room away from the toilets (nobody in the band claimed responsibility, which they would have if it was one of them!). Looking forward to the next gig because it's been a few months since the last one.
