  2. On this topic - how do the various vintage BBs compare to the 734a in terms of feel or sound? I've been looking online at BB300s and BB450s lately and the 450 in particular seems like it would have a fairly similar tone. I've also been lusting after BB1200s online and whilst that only has a P-style pickup the few videos I've seen of people playing them, the tone sounds so growly and fierce, exactly like a newer 734.

  4. I might have to drive over and try that Rinaldis EVO FX5. I have absolutely no money spare, but I am really curious to know what they are like. https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/product/rinaldis-evo-fx5-pre-owned/
  5. “I’ve booked a spa trip” pulls up outside bass direct ”it’s leamington spa”

  8. And perhaps a bit unfair of me to want that from a £300 keyboard as it seems only more expensive ones that have it (seems I took it fro granted with theCK-61!). Still though, it would be useful with the way a lot of peopel learn nowadays and play along to apps. Or even to just have an 'aux in' jack or bluetooth would allow the playback with other music (although that wouldn't do the silent 'Simply Piano' type apps audio out/back and midi). The solution with the ES-60 I have so far is to add a USB interface (I have a Universal Audio Volt 2), send the audio to that from the ES-60 via audio jacks, the Volt converts it digitally and sends it to the iPad or Laptop etc which can process the sound and send it back to the Volt (potentially along with the backing track it's running) and I can then plug headphones into the Volt. As the iPad only has a single USB slot I now also need a USB hub (I'll get the one you mentioned) to also send the USB midi out from the ES-60 to the iPad - so it can recognise the notes being played silently (otherwise it usually works with the mic to detect what's being played loud). It does seem to be a strange omission (or half omission) even with the £1,500 Viscount Legend One though: "USB to host port for transmitting MIDI data to apps on a pc, tablet or phone, which ALSO transmits audio, BUT: it only transmits audio in ONE direction (INTO the keyboard). I have NEVER seen THIS before; any other keyboard that has an audio interface built into the USB port will send audio in BOTH directions. So what does this mean? It means you only get HALF the benefit of a built in audio interface; and that is if you are using the Legend One’s keybed to trigger sounds on a MIDI app on a device? The sounds generated by that app will come straight back into the Legend one (and out of the Legend One’s outputs) without any lag which is really cool. And, you can also use this connection to stream audio into the keyboard as an alternative to the 1/8″ analog in port. The feature you’re missing though, is the ability to send high quality audio FROM the Legend One TO a device to record audio in a DAW, or for making high quality piano videos by connecting the keyboard directly to your phone; to do those things, you WILL need to connect your L&R audio outputs to an external audio interface like a Focusrite Scarlett (which then converts that audio to digital audio to send to your device)" https://pianotone.ca/viscount-legend-one-review/
  9. Oh dear ….. I see financial damage in your future and I didn’t need a crystal ball 🤦‍♂️
  10. Sale only at the minute ideally but could pontentially consider trades ideally with cash my way (via pm obviously)
  11. I’m offering an absolutely outstanding 6-string De Gier bass, the signature model of Dutch top bassist Glenn Gaddum Jr. Having played Fodera for decades and Mattisson for several years, I can confidently say that this De Gier matches them in every aspect of quality. However, I’ve learned once again that I am simply not a Jazz Bass person—neither vintage nor modern. I bought this instrument a few months ago out of curiosity and was immediately impressed, but I'm sticking with my Mattissons, where I’ve truly found “my thing.” The previous owner described the bass perfectly, and I fully agree with every word: “Sound, responsiveness, tonal consistency across the entire fretboard, a perfectly integrated and powerful B-string, a silky, snappy C-string, stylistic flexibility (a true chameleon), a simple yet brilliantly executed control layout, very low action, and a neck profile to die for… all absolute top shelf. The craftsmanship: perfect!” Specifications Model: De Gier Bebop Glenn Gaddum Signature 6-string (custom slightly smaller body) Weight: Just under 4 kg (scale fluctuates between 3.9–4.0 kg) Woods: Alder body 3-piece maple neck Fingerboard: Light rosewood (custom, 6 mm) Dot inlays 22 small frets Hardware & Electronics: Black De Gier hardware MAMA pickups Vol / Vol / Tone Contour switch (push/pull) Fatboost Black-black pickguard Hipshot Ultralite tuners Finish: Body: Custom light silver-orange metallic, high gloss Neck: Satin String spacing: 17 mm Further information and the background story behind this signature model can be found on Sander De Gier’s website. https://www.degierguitars.com/basses/bb-glenngaddumsig/ https://www.degierguitars.com/basses/bb-glenngaddumsig/bbgs-philosopy/ Price & Condition New price: approx. 4635 GBP / €5,300 Asking : 3190 GBP / €3,650 Condition: Absolutely like new — no dings, dents, scratches, or signs of use. Essentially a brand-new instrument. Includes the original De Gier gig bag. Shipping is no problem (buyer pays shipping costs). The original De Gier shipping box is also available. 12. Darkglass Alpha Omega Ultra. Absolute weapon, worth the hype and the wallet pain.
  13. I signed up last year (received as a Christmas present) and feel it has helped my knowledge and general approach to music. I mentioned it earlier in the thread since it was the rhythm content which drew me in. There's not tonnes of bass guitar specific lessons, but I found I could transfer the principles to bass guitar. I have also recently started on the double bass, and it is really helpful for that! There's a lot of piano content in there for all sorts of levels. For what it's worth I've just signed up for another year at the base level membership.

  15. I put the East pre in as the fender one was so average. The East is such a great addition.

  19. Are these 7-Series Yamahas Japanese made, or produced by the Cort factory?
  20. No problems, just changing from a pre-amp monitor combo back to a bass combo and wondered if you'd accept that. Wish I had the funds right now as only in Deal and this is a great combo at a fantastic price
  21. That's good stuff 😁 Hope you're well, mate.
  22. I live in Stenhouse (EH11 3ED), and work at Kings Buildings (EH9 3BF), so those are the two areas where you can find me more easily, but I'm not against travelling a bit in town either. PM me if interested and we can figure out something
  23. Analog cab simulation, very tweakable, includes adjustable HPF, EQ, it works as a headphone amp, and with TS and balanced XLR outputs. Great condition, just a bit dusty...
