It's a CS7. Technically I can't fault it - the action and sound is great.
-
Oh yeah absolutely - the simplicity of the MXR is a plus for me personally. Not tried the C4 but I've had a Future Impact for years and really like all the deep diving you can do, however the immediacy of the MXR is really cool. I loved the EHX Micro Synth for the same sort of reason.

I don't get the preset moaning thing. If you use synth bass a lot, you're probably not the intended audience - FI4 or an actual key bass would make more sense.... If you're in a band where the whole band being on midi controlled effects sequenced to the click and needing midi control, it's probably not for you... Occasional synth parts, and any band where there's a second between songs (when the guitarist is tuning?) to reach down and click onto your next preset... surely you'll be fine? I really don't get the whole "Oh if only it had X" thing you see on here, and a lot on talk bass... "oh if it had X Y and Z I'ld be buying it" - well there are already products that do that get that instead. Most companies look to slim down the UX into something that is simple and usable. If you look at Source Audio for instance who tend to get lots of opinions and try and do them, they get criticised as they are too complex...

This would cure my GAS for all other synths pedals and the limitations of Boss Gt1 B. The eight presets would be a limitation that I reckon could be worked around. The biggest problem is that I'm not in the Madonna band that necessitated synth sounds!

Fair enough and I think that’s true for all the people on other forums going, why doesn’t it have usb (apparently it does inside), why can’t we share presets, connect it to a computer etc. Just buy something else, we’ve all got loads of options these days. For me who’s been on the fence over a C4 for years because I don’t enjoy messing with my phone when playing it’s ideal. Same sort of vibe as the controls on my Subdecay Noise Theory but simpler than the Subdecay Pixelwave. This probably gets rid of the MXR BOD and Mojohand Filter off my board (Other than the filter is only there because it looked weird with the gap 😂) and then anything I use the Zoom MS60b/+ for. A nice thing to have with minimal faff to play along to modern pop songs.

I put these on my US Fenders, they certainly work and they give me peace of mind when changing strings that I`m not going to end up with a rattler. I may well have one that I`m not using, if interested PM me and I`ll check when home from work.

It's just another thing to buy and make room for. The solution I outlined would work better for me.

The first time I watched the video, I wasn't sure what I was watching. But I read your description, watched again and I get it! Impressive, and an interesting way to make music. In a way, not so different to our church band, except we have no tech, and play standing around the MD's piano so we can hear his instructions but the congregation can't.

You can add a small switch to cycle presets, I don’t really see the issue here.

DM me the address for the DCX and I’ll get it out this week, you can have it until someone buys it 😂 Bass Synth I’ll update you on when I know more. -

That's my only gripe at the moment too, I may get one to 'set and forget' for a more generic synth sound, and then use my Future Impact to able scroll through more specific sounds easily.

Aw thanks! I really appreciate that. -
Aaaah, so that’s what that is… cool. Beyond the limits of my feeble, aged musical brain, though. Though, TBH, I didn’t really see what that synth bass added to the arrangement that you couldn’t have achieved just as well by switching to a clean bass tone and playing sustained notes. Never seen the attraction of doubling on synth bass. In my old church, when we did EDM type worship songs a bass and some well chosen OD, filter and modulation pedals worked perfectly well for me. I guess that a Sub-Phatty has never been lurking in my future…

Well I’ve got the DCX for sale. There will be a lot of this, buying pedals I’ve wanted to try but have no intention of keeping, so the video and sell them on. It’s been quite fun even if most of the comments are…. Not really my sound but thanks 😂 I’d try the Lusithand Rosa next as I liked the tilt eq of the diamond but don’t really need the compression. I do love how these top mounted jack pedals look on a board though.

Used but very usable jazz bass, super low action with no fret buzz or issues someone has drilled a hole to use left hand but other wise in pretty good condition, some age related marks pictured but nothing major. bridge pickup is upgraded to a sydowski and it sounds awesome great bass that just isn't getting used. at a reasonable price.

Sounds great Chad 👍

I can send you a DCX Bass and maybe the MXR Bass Synth (I’m in the process of buying one but not in the UK again until end of August) -

I've been thinking about getting one of these for my US P bass for a while, the only place that sells it for a price I would pay is Thomann, but you've then got the £10 shipping fee and I don't really need anything else expensive enough to get it to the free shipping level. Anyone have one fitted to their bass? Is it worth having? I'd be putting it on the A string to try and get rid of the weird rattling overtone noise.

Yes, I watched some of her vids where you can hear her talkback feed. A lot of US churches I see bass cams from seem to simply programme the songs into Ableton (or similar) and just follow the robot voice and click track. It’s clear from those vids that she’s actively MDing a live band, calling repeats and transitions, calling dynamics, controlling some sort of tech with those buttons to her left… all very impressive. And so it’s music with the ability to flow as needed rather than just follow the pre-programmed, rigid karaoke track. Watched one where the voice was more audible than on the Revelation Song video above and she was giving instructions along similar lines of, “…repeat that section… …again… …OK, take it to the one chord and hold… …build… …c’mon, build… …chorus, two, three, four…” I love the organic nature of that band leading and the flexibility it gives to work a tight arrangement but allow some spontaneity. And yes, only 24 years old 😮

One of my favourite flyrigs. I just don’t use it. Basically a boost, big muff, ampeg amp sim and a Boss OC2 clone. It’s the same octave circuit as the Sonicake Octaver and Valeton OC10 which if you’ve seen my octaver comparisons nail that OC2 tone. DI out and fx loop, honestly if it had a tuner it would be perfect. But it doesn’t and I cover most of my gigs with the Darkglass Element
