Yes, they've enough light for a small venue, though I tend to point them at the ceiling rather than at eye level. Back in the late 1990s I was part of a heavy rock DJing team. Our main lights were on a goal-post shaped tri-lite truss with 6x 300W halogen PAR56s, 4x 250W gobo projectors with moving-mirror style mechanism, 2x 250W moonflowers, fog machine and UV fluorescents. In comparison I can get the same amount of light from a bunch of lightweight and relatively cheap LED units. That said, even though MP3s were more efficient, I missed dropping the needle onto vinyl when we moved to laptops instead of turntables. In the same way there's something about the halogen PARs I miss - even though they were heavy, and lighting gel melted every few weeks and the bulbs would break and cost a small fortune to replace. But I'm sure this nostalgia would disappear within minutes of having to load that kit again

Great thread @kwmlondon Really laughed a lot reading everyone's posts...😂😁🤣 What an irrational lot we are. Many of my irrational prejudices have been posted already, but the one that really grinds my gears that hasn't been mentioned so far is this one. It's social media or Basschat posts that we bassists share frequently about our upcoming gigs, with wording to the effect of... 'tonight's office' Or 'today's office' That come with a tasteful picture of some basses and a bass rig. OMG, that winds me up like nothing else because... It's not a f*#king office for f*#k's sake!!! 😡 It's a gig, a venue, a place where people congregate to do nice things (in the main)... I play music to get away from the office, and the last thing I'd ever want to associate playing music with is a f*#king office. 😡 There. Said it. 😬😜 I need to go and lie down in a darkened room for a couple of hours now... 😁🤣

This bass started life as a Gherson Jazz bass that I bought off @Bass Wielder here last year I have had the neck completely refretted and levelled as there was some buzzing up at the dusty end Rerouted for new Toltec Jazz pickups, ring around the bridge pickup is to hide the previous rout as the original pickups were an odd ball size New Pickguard added and the original pots used Tuners also changed out Schaller bridge fitted Weight is 4.6 Kg's The body is just a lovely, pickups are lively and loud Asking price is about half what it cost me in total to put togeather but the result is great IMHO I will include free delivery to UK addresses

I bought my first 'proper' bass from A1 (a semi acoustic Charvel Surfcaster which I still have). We used to make the pilgrimage there from sleepy North Wales every now and then. Amazing place at the time. It felt magical to us as teenagers because we knew that's where The Stone Roses bought all their gear, including Mani's famous Ric 4005. Happy days! ✊️🍋

QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Nope, the truss rod is headstock end on the op ibanez, so my directions are correct to loosen the tension. If you were looking at the truss rod from the opposite direction, i.e. looking from headstock end down the neck to the body it'll be turning in opposite direction.

Re advertised with reduced price. I’ll give this a couple of days and then withdraw it again. Selling at a reduced price before I trade it in. Fender Musicmaster Bass 1971 This is the rarer first issue of the Musicmaster bass. This is the baby of the Fender range of this era and has a 30” scale. This early version has the smaller logo and model name with the distinctive hooked R. The tuners are original with the tulip shaped keys, later models had Schaller types. The neck is nice and easy to play, it has a lovely dark rosewood board and 19 frets. Truss rod works as it ought to and the action is low and comfortable. It also intonates very well for a two saddle bridge shorty. The bass had been modded years before I bought it and had been routed for a reversed Precision bass pickup rather than the original rather weedy sounding Strat pickup. I swapped the pickup for a Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder as the fitted pickup was in poor condition. I also removed the ‘choke’ from the original wiring circuit as this was probably used to make the original Strat pickup sound darker. I will include the choke with the bass. The pots and Bakelite knobs are all original. The scratchplate is one I made. It’s rather rough but does the job. I have the original one but it has been modded to accommodate the P pickup and the original pickup cavity patched. I’ll include this of course. The finish is original with lots of dings, touch ups, crazing and darker patches where stickers have been removed. It has had a long life as a gigged bass. It looks great because it’s been played and loved. I’ve personally used this for all my gigs over the last year. It sounds punchy and has a surprising tonal range. It’s light at around 3.7kgs and very easy to play. I’m selling because I’m getting back to playing long scales. I don’t want trades sorry and it’s UK only. I can post at the buyer’s expense and/or arrangement.

Excellent condition lightly used Mic Mechanic vocal pedal. This is the V2 version. Affectionately known as the 'talent pedal' by the rest of the band, has a lovely inbuilt EQ that sweetens up the vocal. Also has onboard echo, reverb and pitch correction. Price includes UK postage, but no power supply or box.

The PAR floods are prtty much what i have on my Party Light bar I quite like the multiple single coloured bulbs as they give a sense of movement, and the tri light bundle is pretty much standard for bands. It's interesting that both of us and @Rosie Cseem to have gone for lamps around 20W each. four of those gove a decent amount of light on a small stage without blinding people. I have got a couple of 180W Par lights I bought before I'd really thought things through and they are mad, there's no way you could use them in small venues and the only time i've used them successfully is outdoors. Those Stairville floods look great because of the 45deg spread of light. Proper floods which is what you need when the lights are necessarily close to you. Too many of these lights have too narrow a beam.
