  1. Past hour
  2. Didn't that used to be the Private Shop? My dad had a video shop next door!
  3. Looks really good and so much better I think, i like a dark board, is it messy to use, did you have to use masking tape or something similar
  4. You mean with the political stuff? Basschat has pretty strict moderation that shuts down most partisan things. People get around it by discussing more general philosophical topics, although they do too get shut down from time to time. I’m 57 and it can definitely seem like a time machine to the early days of the internet around here.
  5. Noll with volume (push/pull for active/passive), balance, tone, bass, mid, treble yes it comes with new gig bag

  9. Great result for me this weekend darkening a pau ferro fretboard with Monty’s Montypresso. Cleaned the fretboard with lighter fluid beforehand and left the Montypresso on for 24 hours. Before and after results below.
  10. 34👍🏽
  11. I’ve made drawings and had these made by a toolmaker out of aluminum. Then I found someone who anodized these in black for me..
  12. I got the Montypresso and left it on for 24 hours after cleaning the fretboard with lighter fluid (I need to use the bass today so couldn’t leave it on for 48 hours). A remarkable transformation, exactly as hoped for. The Pau Ferro could now pass for rosewood. Thanks for the recommendation.
  13. To be fair, like all Youtubers, Sapko is an insufferable megabell. Whilst this may get "exposure" were he to pick it up, it’s still a fairly niche bass channel isn't it? Would it not just be the sort of people who frequent the forum who would check out a video he did anyway?
  14. Keep the 2x10, but buy a 4x10 of the same make and impedance (assuming it's 8ohm). That way you've got teh option of a 2x10 for small gigs, a 4x10 for medium and effectively a 6x10 for big ones. That's what I do!
  15. Excellent price!
  16. Selling this on behalf of a good and trusted friend, here you can see his original Facebook Marketplace ad. If you're interested I can put you in touch with him directly. Bass Collection "Betsy" Jazz bass, Guy Pratt signature model. EMG pickups. There's a ding in the paintwork to the left of the bridge. Go for £745 new. Full specs can be found here: https://www.basscentre.com/british-bass-masters/bbm-betsy.html No gig bag, collection only. North London.
  17. The evidence of this thread suggests that the number of "wrongs" is way past two.
  18. Website is still on line. I guess until liquidation starts they could still sell stuff... but pick up and pay in person might be wise. I've had various bits from them over the years (strings, rosin, a pickup, a bass bow) and a couple of minor repairs ( new cello end pin, bridge, sound post move, new bass end pin) all no frills decent work and they fixed up my orchestra's bass to playability.... never trusted them with anything too major tho as it was unclear who was actually doing the work.
  19. Bought as a set with the P bass pickup for my short scale but didn't think that the bridge pickup would be neck pickup dimensions. Screwed in but never soldered.
  20. My feeling is that we’re all thinking about this too much. Art is organic. It shares its DNA with other art, and evolves. just be respectful of the art and its sources.
  21. Zoom Ultra Fuzz UF-01: Had one years ago and had some nostalgic curiosity. Just as good as I remember and not super keen to get rid, but there's other things I want and with 85 DIY pedals on the shelves, I have a strict one in one out policy on branded pedals... For those who don't know, the ultra fuzz was something of a hidden gem - often very wrongly considered a fuzz factory clone, it's absolutely anything but. Can do noisy squeals but also does very rich dense heavy distortion. This one is in absolutely immaculate condition, with box. Price is £125 and includes postage with adequate insurance. Pickup available from Sheffield or Leeds also an option Zoom MS-70CDR+ Multistomp Now the other end of the Zoom spectrum, the new version of the Chorus, Delay, Reverb multistomp pedal. Just not using it enough to keep, it's genuinely amazing but I've just got my sounds settled with other pedals. Had from new and never left the desk, absolutely immaculate with box. £90 posted with adequate insurance.

  23. So you might just about be able to remember your lines? Seems like a worthwhile thing if the rest of the band and yourself got the knucklehead vocalist to accept his place in the world.
  24. Rasta (1983/1989 reissues) — some versions list Benjamin Obadiah Zephaniah credited for Bass, Percussion, Vocals (Discogs entries Purloined from AI search.
  25. I think it was only about four years ago.
