  2. The reverse P sounds so much better in a PJ setup too - plus it’s Nordstrand pups! I struggle with the string spacing on these, which is a shame cos they’re blinding basses especially for the money! It’s still possibly tempting tho Just a question - in passive mode is there a tone control (like traditional passive tone control on a fender etc) I know some Ibanez’s the treble works as the tone in passive.
  3. Hi all, I've picked this up as a doer upper. Needs a thorough (to say the least) clean, a new pot/stalk, and all the stickers removing. And a strap button. And a set up. Does anyone know what it is? I was thinking a bass collection, or perhaps an sx? But the D tuning peg is higher than A on the other side? Its a shallow but wide ish neck. Confused. Feels so so light, seriously the lightest I've ever had, and sounds very nice.
  4. So first rehearsal tonight with the ric and to be honest i was a bit underwhelmed. I ditched my pedals years ago and go straight into an Ashdown Spyder head into a Barefaced 1x15. The P gets a lovely plumby bottom with a slight breakup, the mids are throaty and growly and the top is open but beefy. The ric was thin, hollow sounding and got lost easily in the mix. Now granted it does need a set up so ill hold judgement but a quick play with pickup heights didnt really help, the neck pup is maxed height wise and i just wasnt getting enough beef. Ill try again after the set up but im wondering if ill maybe need a pre amp pedal for the ric to get a similar beef that the p gives? Im also aware that ric v p is apples v oranges. I just expected a bit more body and timbre
  5. It’s a really annoying Windows limitation - it only allows a single USB-MIDI device to be active at a time.
  6. Hey thanks Paddy, I have been looking at that one 😆
  7. Hmm I had no idea about that! A strange and annoying quirk that seems like it would cause all sorts of problems. Can't remember if it has been open or not tbh. Will have another go, thanks for flagging that!
  8. There was another one on here that had issues some years ago but I’m sure it was fixed by Jon in the end

  12. And now, a true collectors' bass. GLWTS
  13. I agree! Despite all I have said, I'm still a sucker for a nice Thumb Bass. I could see me ignoring all good sense and buying one like that example. I once nearly inadvertantly got given one by the Bass Centre in Wapping when I bought a gig bag and someone had very thoughtfully left a brand new Thumb fretless inside. For a moment I thought they might have been so impressed by my playing they were forcing an endorsement on me. However, honest to a fault, I alerted the shop to their generous oversight and gave them their bass back.
  14. I reckon it's a dead-ringer for Davros.
  15. A rare premium Ibanez sound gear 6 string bass guitar. Made in Indonesia. If you are looking at this, you know how good they are! this one comes with the original hardcase, a strap and the manual. I tried to take enough photos to show some bumps but the neck is perfect and playability is superb. Strung with flatwounds so no need to ever change them! Reason for selling is only because 4 strings is more than enough for me and I am doing a clear out! Collection only! No trades unfortunately...
  16. It's a tough crowd here.

  20. Edited the topic and reduced the price to £1300 based on the new information, not sure how to edit the price. Thanks for helping out!
  21. Utter bargain price on the Gemini.
  22. No need to 'shuffle', you could have borrowed a car and driven away.
  23. Thank you. Hangs head in embarrassment and quietly shuffles off to the corner.
