  1. Past hour
  2. Stratitis maybe?
  3. I think writing your own material makes a massive difference.
  4. What happened to that BB2024MX you had?
  5. That's lovely, can't see it hanging around for too long, GLWTS.
  6. Hofner violin basses. Left handed basses.
  7. Yes, something else crossed my mind when I just read that 😁. VID20250831154400.mp4 The problem at hand is that I just detuned my 5-string down to Bb for a cool transcription that @ChrisDev shared and I noticed that the G-string sounded markedly different, as though it had a separate effect on it. Observing it being plucked showed an odd resonance (a slow vibration or modulation atop the regular string vibration when plugged) that I've not seen in my basses before. This is reproducible and it's spoiling the overall bass sound, because it's the only string with this "feature". It's this just physics? A combo of free string length, tension, etc? Ideas to ameliorate or solve it?
  8. There's a lot going on about Rod Stewart on certain sections of the web at the moment, none of which can be corroborated with a simple google search, Funny that. Also, the prose in all of these "reports" just screams AI.
  9. Thanks guys for all your input it was very useful and now found the problem, it was me doooh.
  10. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  11. Hi. Here you go (from the Gator site)... Length 12.50" Width 19.00" Height 9.00" Cheers!
  12. Thanks So,
  13. Don't they have red crosses on them?
  14. Although according to the article millions of fans know about it and it's all over Facebook and Instagram. You'd have thought that Google or Duckduckgo would give some results for a search...
  15. I’ve put a mint green on now like it but might go back to tort or anodised gold
  16. Similar here in my electronics project (box) room that my music gear grew out of. Least you've got stuff to go back to.

I’m in the US right now (sadly) - I got mine from Sweetwater. Although I’ve been burned in that sort of situation before so I feel your pain!
  18. I mainly use it to backup the presets I have created just in case of user stupidity! 🤣 I've also checked out some other user presets from the Hub to see how certain combinations of pedals sound and also use as a basis for some of my presets.
  19. Hey All, Sadly my new PJB D400 is going back. Much as I love the open, clear "hifi" sound, the preamp section is just a bit too noisy for my fussy tastes - which becomes especially apparent when played through a high quality, revealing cab such as the LFSys Monza. So the hunt is back on for a suitable head - here's what it needs to do: *Easily fits into a gig/shoulder bag * Doesn't need to be huge wattage (200+w) as the Monza does an astonishingly efficient job and I never play loud gigs. * Transparent, hifi sounding - basically all the usual awful adjectives that get thrown around! I love the PJB sound but haven't really tried any other similar amps * After my recent experience absolutely must have the lowest possible noise floor at both pre and power amp stages and through the DI * FX Loop and pre/post DI * Budget £450-£800 As with my "search for a cab" thread, I'm primarily playing Zon and Sei fretlesses with a touch of reverb for solo / small acousticy ensembles with the occasional theatre band pit and jazz gig thrown in. It will also be my main preamp for DI'ing into my PC for Zoom teaching online. Aside from the PJB BP800, the only other likely candidate that looks promising see would be the Eich T300. I suspect I could be a Glockenklang fan but they don't yet make anything physically small enough. But do please chip in with thoughts, experiences etc. Thanks! Andy
  20. Lol Coxhill doesn't count! I used to play in an improv band with some of his ex-cohorts... They were ever so good at playing in all the keys at the same time!
  21. I've got a USA Lakland passive PJ with a Jazz Bass neck on it and it's a superb instrument in every way. Sounds great, plays great, feels great. The neck profile is sublime. If you trawl the internet you might find a used one within your budget.
  22. We do that already - basically, there are audiences who expect the Commitments/Blues Brothers and those who are broader minded. I want to know what blues clubs and festivals expect…
  23. Monza arrived last week! A proper review is definitely needed and will be done soon, but spent the last week getting used to the huge difference in sound from my combo - every thing now sounds like it's in 3D rather than 2D is the best I can describe it. The first and critical thing to be aware of is just how clear and present the sound is and how much this cab lays bare every link in your signal chain - it immediately showed me that my lovely new PJB D400 was making a lot more hiss than I was previously aware of as was my equally lovely Source Audio EQ2 pedal. This has prompted me to do some proper DI recording and metering in Cubase to look at the D400 noise floor from the preamp - and, as much as I hate to see it go, the D400 is going back to Gear4Music (within its 30 day period). As a result I no longer have a head to properly put the Monza through it's real-world paces, (see new thread about the search for a head..). However I can also report just how efficient this cab is - the D400 puts out probably 180W into 8Ohms and I barely had to have the volume above 8 O'clock to get a big room-filling sound. (My PJB combo needs to be double that and that's into a 4Ohm load). Very impressive. So, frustratingly I'm going to have to wait to do an in-depth review until I can get a suitably hifi sounding but quiet (noise-wise) head.
