  1. Past hour
  2. Thanks Kiwi. Do we have a ball park cost? Colour me interested too 😊
  3. I've added in midi to the FI additional capabilities list on my earlier above.
  4. Sounds good! I think where I'm heading is that the FI with 99 presets is capable of being much more than "just" an excellent synth pedal. Why not have banks dedicated to some of the commonly used fx that the FI does well e.g. Bank 2 modulation - chorus, delay etc. Bank 3 octave and pitch shift etc.? It then becomes a synth / multifx.
  5. Well, there’s definitely bass stuff in the works…
  6. Thank you for the explanation. My Epiphone LP is in bits so can't try it. It was used on bridge pickup, full volume & tone. I never got to know the controls. Good job really, I might think it's broken too I'd sussed the circuits are all joined and wasn't entirely convinced of my fix. Since no one else has fixed physics to work properly either, I'm going to call it a learning success. The final process that the electrics got was a fix to the dodgy jack socket, then squeeze and reform the shape of the wires and caps so they sit nice, and put the cover back on. It sounds a lot better now without the jack socket spinning about intermittently shorting. I've heard both tones working but need to update my test method and expected outcomes before I validate their function. I'll do that when I'm tired of playing it.
  7. So would I. In fact I’ve added a poll to the FI Facebook group to ask.
  8. David Brent said it best: "Does a struggling salesman start turning up on a bicycle? No, he turns up in a newer car - perception, yeah?" Joking aside, I think this theory has some truth to it
  9. PS same works with my Scarlett 2i2, you could use one channel for bass and the other for the mono backing track perhaps?
  10. Year started playing: 2001 Number of basses: 4 Music theory: 4 Technique: 7 Groove: 10
  11. I recently realised I can use the boss Katana:Go connected via USB to my iphone to record my bass directly in the camera app. It wouldn't record the AUX in though so you'd still need to sync up to the backing track audio. It'd probably be less faffy than syncing video to audio though.
  12. Year started playing: 2002 Number of basses: 5 Music theory: 6 Technique: 6 Groove: 7
  13. How is that going to fit onto a card?
  14. Polyphonic pitch detection is very difficult, requiring lots more resources than monophonic tracking. That’s not to say it couldn’t perhaps be done as one of the two currently-unused apps in the pedal. Polyphony/paraphony has already been under discussion (for MIDI-triggered uses). I’d like to push the idea of on-pedal patch management as that will benefit all users.
  15. Turn It Down - Sweet
  16. EMG GZR pickups and solderless controls for sale. I'm after a change in sound with my Precision, so I'm moving this set along. I've had them fitted for over two years now, and they work 100%. Price includes postage to anywhere within UK mainland. Cheers
  17. Had a few tracks pretty much done, thought I'd try and fix them up good enough (by my standards anyway) to put them up on bandcamp. everything you hear is me. Drums were live recorded. Bass used was a 6 string squier affinity jazz (amazing value!). Guitar was a thomann DIY prs style. All effects/processing done using guitar rig. Used reaper for daw. Rough around the edges but deliberately left so 😅 would be appreciated if you'd like to listen! https://sixtofour.bandcamp.com/album/artifice
  18. I`ve read that in a few places, and agree that whilst it might not seem particularly taxing playing straight 8s (or 16s) through a whole track spot on is much harder than many would think. Probably many wouldn`t even realise how off they were until seeing the notes on the display in the studio - myself def included in this. It`s quite eye-opening to see just how much you`ve wavered when you thought you`d nailed it. Not all skills involve every fret and every string in a verse.
  19. Year started "playing": 10 (yup! 1980 was that good; the playing not so, though) Number of basses: 2 (down from 16, but up from 0) Music theory: 10 (but some of my teachers have 100) Technique: 0 Groove: 0
  20. +1 - had some work done on a few basses now, been happy with the result every time. Also sold me a wonderful Sandberg. Good egg!
  21. I've regularly gigged Harley benton, squier, fenders, vintage.... anything. If it sounds good, then it's good enough. However... I do have to say for auditions for bands and jobs, I've always found turning up with that Fender logo really does help (although it shouldn't). To other people it's much more than just a logo. It boosts your chances before you've even played a note. Again, unfortunate, but just what I've found.
  22. Yeah I think it has, I just linked to the wrong one, the X is the current one.
  23. I have heard this very amp and chocolate does indeed come to mind. Gorgeous, authoritative, punchy sounding thing. As Jack says, as long as you can deal with it not being a lightweight flibbertygib of an amp, it will make someone very happy
  24. Get your stock one cloned. Either Brian Pillans (earlpilanz on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/earlpilanz) or TinyTone - https://tinytone.co.uk/ will do this for you - you remove the pickguard from the bass, send the pickguard to them, they copy it in whatever material you want then send both of them back to you.
  25. The dreaded Lead Singer Disease in full flight
  26. PRICE NOW DROPPED TO £300. Easily the best speaker cabinet I have ever used: am downsizing to lighter Genz Benz cabs as I rarely play live now. The Eden D210XST Cab is loud enough to be heard and yet still small enough to be used at home or in a small studio. For those players who need a portable, high-performance rig with even more low end than the XLT, Eden has designed a 2 x 10" cabinet for their XST woofers. Punchy and clean, the D210XST produces a full and clear tone through its two 10" speakers. It's excellent for delivering articulate bass lines with volume. This 2 x 10" cabinet handles more power than many 4 x 10" cabs on the market. The D210XST offers huge bottom end with its cleverly-designed tuned and ported cabinet construction and speaker selection: the low end is full but tight, the mids are open and well-defined and the highs are clear and crisp. Durable build quality makes this ideal for touring and live performances. All Eden enclosures are constructed with 5/8" thick void free plywood with full dado and rabbet jointing. Massive internal bracing prevents vibration and keeps the sound deep, tight and clear. Exclusive Eden Cast Frame loudspeakers and Eden Cast Bell low distortion tweeter horns are designed, hand-built and tested in their own factory in the USA. Very Good condition. Comes with an official Eden cover. Power Handling: 500 Watts Impedance: 8 Ohms Speakers: 2x10" Eden-spec Eminence EC1060XS speakers Tweeter: Eden Cast Bell low distortion Crossover: 3.5KHz @ 18dB Frequency Response: 30Hz - 14KHz Sensitivity: 103dB SPL Connections: Parallel 1/4 Inch and Speakon Dimensions: 23" w x 18" h x 18.5" d Weight: 59lbs / 26.8kg NOW ONLY £300.
