  1. Past hour
  2. U OK hun? I have a cheese grater called Pierre. Baked beans are delicious and doubly so due to the rampant post bean consumption guffage, what's not to like? Apart from our very own resident Egyptian deity, obvs. *raises hand* Because the hours it would take to simply summon you on the oijua board make communication on points such as this counter productive. Fair.
  3. Bought a Squier CV Mustang bass from Lozz - We agreed to meet halfway which meant a nice stop at a service station along the M4. Money and bass was promptly exchanged, the bass was exactly as described then we then proceeded to talk all things bass/gigs/music for over an hour! An absolute gent to deal with 🤩
  4. A great playing vintage Fender - if you make me a reasonable offer I may even say yes!
  5. What is the best bass stand? I've tried a few over the years. I like them to fold up, have a neck support (I had an instrument crash off one which just had the body support) and is light. The closest I got was called Ultimate although it was nicked from a gig.
  6. No, I'm not brave enough to try and modify mine much, either. Looking at my American Original [which I've had for nearly seven years], the nitro finish is just starting to show tiny flakes in places here and there, but we're talking pin-hole sized dots. No checking, though.
  7. I read the story on Reddit from the guy who gave the original '61 to Flea, and ended up getting a prototype signed Modulus in return. Apparently he paid $6000 for it at a store in LA.
  8. Andertons have become my first port of call (after Amazon) for music gear. Good prices and ive sent a few things back over time and it's always been smooth, quick and hassle free. One day I will go and visit them as they aren't too far.
  9. Agreed, and some of us don't even get sweaty hands. I have a variety of satin necks, glossy graphite necks, oil finished necks, and even a couple of nitro finished gloss necks, and I don't have a 'sticky' problem with any of them, thankfully.
  10. Monster mash - Bobby Pickett
  11. Cretin Hop - Ramones
  12. I don't like painted necks at all but looking through this thread I don't think that can be an irrational hatred because so many of us don't like the horrible sweaty, sticky things.
  13. I Can't Dance - Genesis
  14. Reliced Stack Knob control plate. Postage can be arranged or you are welcome to collect.
  15. Galli flats and D’Addario half now sold
  16. The new EMG E5Ws are what might finally convince me to get an Ibanez EHB, since all but their most expensive models have the poorly-reviewed Bartolini BH2s. (On Thomann, the EHB1265MS is less expensive than the EHB1135MS, for some reason I don't quite see.) I tend to prefer the EMG way of thinking: Active starts at the pickups, not by adding an active EQ after passive pickups and controls.
  17. Exactly what Mrs S said to me a couple of nights ago...
  18. isn't it lovely how we're all different.
  19. Basses with decorative 'ornate' points like Alembics and G&L.
  20. Just had a great experience with Andertons, I bought a TC Helicon Critical Mass voice processor, it is supposed to make you sound like a group of people. I've been doing that with reverb and delay/detuning on my mixer but having a stomp switch was appealing. It doesn't sound as good as the mixer and is electrically noisy, not Andertons fault but I don't want it. Anyway I rang the shop and a really helpful guy immediately said: "not a problem was that the TC" quick and pleasant chat and the returns details were sent to me. He even advised me that it was cheaper to arrange my own courier than to use theirs. I've always felt we need to cherish the firms with real shops and good values before they all disappear and for me this was yet another good experience from Andertons. Full Marks from me
