  2. Originally bought when I switched in-ears, the bass player in me made me buy 2 - you know, just in case one went faulty 🙄 Either that or it's OCD 🤔 I pretty much take two of everything to gigs. These are two channel headphone amplifiers so you can either take a stereo feed from the desk and have your own level control for each channel or do what I did and take a signal directly from the end of my pedal board into 1 channel and the second from the desk. That way I could mix all of the ban minus me in one channel and then bring my bass in using the other. Overkill but I liked it. Anyway, the first one was on my pedal board and at some point I took the sticker from the Radial Tonebone that I had and put in on top. It also has velcro on the bottom so is ready to mount on your pedalboard. Looking for £25 for this one. The second one is as new and still sealed. Looking for £30 for this one Collection welcome or postage will be £5 for each one.

  3. I’m having a big clear out of basses, strings and pedals. Pretty much anything that I am no longer going to be using so that I can reduce my collection to just 1 main bass, a back up and the pedals that I need. Boss LMB-3 - no box - £60 Behringer UO300 Octaver - £25 Behringer BDI21 Preamp - never left the house - £20 TC Electronic Blood Moon Phaser - £30 All pedals have velcro underneath ready to attach to a pedal board. Collection welcome and postage will come in at £5 per pedal.
  4. Yamaha BB735a go for between 650 and 1100 same exact everything. Make this make sense? One thing that's a positive is that high end "heavy" cabinets are cheap, while lightweight cabs are at a premium. The sound is not as good I own 6 bass set ups and my lightweight Rumble 500 and Ampeg Porta 500 will never sound as good as my heavy stuff. I hought a Henry 8x8 for under $300.

  11. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1238010064525230/ As an electric bass player for over 50yrs, I've never been down the DB route. Obviously, I haven't got a clue but nothing ventured, nothing gained. I've done research on these but as always, everyone has differing opinions. There are a couple of rockabilly guys around here who could possibly try it out for me, it's only 25 miles away. I'm sure the price is negotiable, lots of variables I guess. Is it worth a punt ? Cheers Ian

  15. I bought my first bass amp with cash made by stuffing stamped addressed envelopes (kids, ask your parents) with *** slimming section's diets, so I won't have a word said against that very fine publication. On topic, I have a number in my head where it becomes not worth selling and I would rather keep it, but generally I want it gone and am prepared to take quite a big hit on most stuff. There's only Fartbook here in Mexico, really, and I have been dealing with so many tyre kickers with bass stuff and bike stuff I have been trying to move on before we up sticks again. I price stuff below market rate and clearly list prices etc. and all you get is people asking the price and if you will drop it to them half way across the city for free or take staggered payments. It's soul destroying but if that happens at a fair price I can sort of understand why people try to put a slice on top to cover the aggro.
  16. I've just got back in from seeing SatchVai Band in Wolverhampton. Two words... Kenny Aronoff. I've seen him a couple of times before but I swear he keeps getting better. He can do it all. It was like like 2 hours of some guitar blokes and Marco Mendoza keeping Kenny company while he wiped the floor with 99.99% of other drummers. And he's 72 and as fit as a butcher's dog. The people I went with said that the guitar playing was decent but then again, I wouldn't have thought Kenny would have played with anybody shoddy for a minute 😉

  18. Tell that to ICE Power. The general rule is no free lunch, ever. I surmise 2 ohm operation costs something significant.

  20. This rogered me when the forum changed over. I was directed look to the left of the thread topic, there is a star, or a dot if you read it and didn't comment previously. I am not "following" anything either. If I "follow", the email gets chocka with notices.

  25. I joined my local gym. Not something I EVER thought I'd do, but my doc gave me a choice of meds or NHS part-funded gym membership. The strange thing was after a few weeks I started to really enjoy it and missed it if I couldn't work out for a few days. Nothing too strenuous - treadmill, cycle machine, and some weights and there's big TVs to watch so the time goes quickly. My formal exercise goals include "carrying my bass amp" The NHS bit was quite important for me - I have a special coach who went through my medical history and designed a suitable programme and keeps tabs on my progress.
