Question: Filling pocket screw holes on maple neck

Just make sure the inserts are plumb in the neck, not at an angle. With careful drilling (best is a drill press) for the inserts it is not that difficult to do. The added advantage is that you can remove the neck for truss rod adjustments etc as many times as you want with no movement due to wear in the neck holes. It’s a good upgrade. -
Can’t comment on the SR but it’s not far off my Jazz. Took a few side by sides for comparison.

Screws come in different widths, you may have slimmer ones, check dimensions and get next size up or some slightly wider. -

Gallien Krueger Plex, as Duff used GK amps, and a chorus pedal of some sorts will get you well into Duff territory.

Japanese dimensions and fit are different to standard. The curve you're talking about you'll have to judge by eye, some are rounded, others more angular.
-
Cheers for the advice and ill keep it in mind, unfortunately i don't think it will help in this case as a side by side shows that the widest part is a few mm further forward on the new one resulting in a shallower angle on the 'curve' meaning there will always be a gap between guard and plate

I play in a band and all are Di’d into the Pa. I currently use a tone hammer. I’ve got it into my head that I want to have the Duff Mckagan sound from the 90’s. Other than the pj bass what pre amp/ Di could I use ? And other pedals too. Thanks

I found that removing the pickguard, then fitting the control plate, and then re-fitting the pickguard usually works. It took me a while to figure this method out though, as in the past I've ended up sanding the pickguard to get it, and the control panel, to fit snugly.
