  5. Heads up for a correction. My bass is one of the late ones with the curved US Bartolini Pickups and that I'm going to advertise this elsewhere. I need to sell something 👍
  6. Well done!
  7. La Bella 760FX Flatwound Strings Used for approximately 4 hours. Cut for Fender style head. £30 including postage.
  8. Sadowsky Jazz Pickups Used for project bass which is now disassembled. Look closely in the second photo and you will see the Sadowsky branding. Mounting screws supplied. £120 including postage.
  9. Sad news if they actually go out of business. I wouldn't trade this for a brand new USA-made Fender Precision 𝘢𝘯𝘥 Jazz bass.
  10. I asked the seller few weeks ago if he has any, and got one. Ask him.
  11. I applied, never got a reply, perhaps they're trying to tell me something 😄
  12. Not mine but just spotted this on Faceache: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/17Z5LT9Wuz/?
  13. Haha, that's a good one!
  14. I'd just register my songs with the PRS and put a demo on soundcloud, in fact I register all the bands songs whether I wrote them or not seeing as nobody else can be arsed to register them in their own names
  15. Based on previous year's posts in the "How was your gig" thread it appears that quite a few us are likely to be playing this. So I thought for this year everyone playing could add the venue and time they will be on to this thread. To start us off Hurtsfall will be playing at The Berliner, 6-8 High Road, NG9 4AE at 3.00pm. Tickets for wristbands to get into the venues after 6.00pm are available here. Before 6.00pm it's free. It's also my birthday that day (if that counts for anything).
  16. Try not to buy to cheap, unless an active bass an active DI is better for passive bass's, Warm make a fantastic mic level multi instrument active DI, 48v Phantom Power, has a level pot for your DI output, very useful, & has a high quality transformer for a better, cleaner sound, works on many instruments from bass to keyboards, guitar, anything needing a good DI signal, Sushi Box Finally V3 DI has a real 12AX7 tube, variable LPF, real RoHS transformer, very handy well made tube DI for bass guitar, i carry a spare active NU-X MLD Pre-amp/DI pedal & a new 9v battery connector to 2.1mm power input incase of a power break & a spare back-up...great switching options & can be used as a re-amp box with a built in drum machine & 3.5mm headphone input, 3.5mm stereo input for your phone or other 3.5mm music player for practise, it can be used as a bass Pre-amp/DI box or just a good direct DI, very good quality.....
  17. Ah!, Thats very helpful
  18. Use the nut as a guidance for a more accurate position. Check this file where there is a lot of pickup placements including Fender and Musicman (4 or 5 string pickup is the same position): Pickup Positions For Many Makes Of Bass.xlsx
  19. Fantastic basses.
  20. I don't know if it's relevant, but I have a Cort Persona and have problems using a Boss wireless transmitter directly, and it turns out that it's because the output jack is wired in reverse. From the manual: My Cort is the only bass I have that is wired this way. Maybe worth investigating/eliminating?
  21. I was in a band that bought out an ex-singer's share of the song writing with a proper legal agreement and money changing hands, just so there would be no come backs should anything we wrote whilst she was in the band be successful.
  22. Thanks, that does help, though it provokes GAS as well 😕
  23. Still not passive and phantom isn't always available on some PAs or can't be activated on a per channel basis, which might make some setups difficult to cable. Passive DI boxes are great because you don't have to worry about issues like this or batteries going flat. hey can sit in your equipment bag until they are required and you know they will be fine. I have 6 channels of passive DI I take to gigs for my band. That's one for everything we need and a spare. I wouldn't contemplate an active DI device unless I was in charge of the non-battery power for it.
  24. Yes, great price. Got an absolute bargain. I'd love to get a bit of stability in life (never happens) where I could collect old bass amps from the past and have them in a room or garage for little money. There'll be a time where a lot of the great amps from days gone by will be rare. Even now there's plenty of stellar bass amp manufacturers that have gone for ever (in their original guise - Eden, swr, Warwick, trace, genzbenz, Marshall etc and plenty who don't make transistor amps anymore.

  26. This ⬆️ It's stupid threatening legal action for recording/playing a song you wrote. So long as you have proof you wrote it, just wait for any hint that they are making money from it and then claim the royalties without having to worry about recording or playing it yourself!
