  1. Past hour
  2. Not confused at all. You weren't specific enough, and the fourth Pokemon badge, as I discovered through the wonder of DuckDuckGo, is Brilliant Diamon and Shining Pearl. I suppose I could have said Camp Cook, but not every former Scout would have gained their badges in the same order as me.
  3. Have you tried WinISD as mentioned above? It's a bit non-intuitive if you don't know all the terms but I've managed to get it to work, so if you've used other cab software you should find it easy enough.
  4. What looks very much like the M-Vave branded equivalent of the Lekato WS-90 has come up on AliExpress for under £30 (until the 27th of August). I've ordered a set as my WS-50 receiver is getting slightly temperamental around the micro-USB socket and I like to have a spare set. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006613115406.html - I'll report on it when it arrives.
  5. For anyone as confused as @tauzero:
  6. It's on FB Marketplace reduced to £180 in Brighton.
  7. I once orded from Farnell, a single microprocessor about 20mm. It arrived in a plastic frame for 100 chips about ten inches square, sandwiched under another one. In an anti-electrostatic bag. In a standard plastic bag. Surrounded by bubble wrap. In a cardboard box. Surrounded by cardboard packing. Inside a cardboard box over two feet square. Someone must have been having a very borjng afternoon. 😁
  8. I'm happy to model the Celestion Pulse drivers for you or indeed look at any others. As @stevie has pointed out the cab is a little large for those drivers (we used a 30litre cab for the Pulse design we did during lockdown), but they look like they would work in a range of cabs. It'll be good to return some of the help you've given me over the years
  9. Brilliant diamond and shining pearl.
  10. Whomsoever can answer the question, will get their answer ticked and a credit towards obtaining the rare and only slightly less mysterious Third Badge.
  11. Clearing out some stuff, and I don’t use this so time to move it on. Excellent 9/10 condition, works fine and has a new Duracell fitted recently. Has two little rubber feet missing, but will include a new set of 4 with the pedal in case you don’t want to Velcro it to a pedalboard. These currently sell new on t’internet for between £75 and £85. Cash on collection from East Yorkshire, or can send - UK postage now included. More info here - The ultimate distortion for bass! This XO-series sized box features a bass boost switch and was specifically designed to handle bass frequencies. It also features a "dry" output. The Electro-Harmonix Bass Big Muff Pi Distortion Pedal lets bass players get that great distortion that the Big Muff is known for with no loss of low end. The bass big muff features controls for volume, tone, sustain, dual outputs (effect & dry for recording), and a mini switch for bass boost. Powered by a single 9 volt battery or optional AC power supply (not included). Features - Controls for Volume - Tone - Sustain Mini Switch for Bass Boost Long, creamy sustain, fat fuzz sound, solid treble and transparent bass sound On/Off switch Controls for Volume, Tone, and Sustain Dual outputs Mini Switch for Bass Boost Rugged metal chassis
  12. Pleased that it went well. Thanks for the update, we all like a happy ending
  13. So what's the mysterious fourth badge?
  14. Something like this if you can find one would probably be usuable. This one has a 230V ac primary, and a 32.5Vac - 0v - 32.5Vac secondary. It was salvaged from an early 80s Carlsboro 100 watt pa amp and is likely rated around 100 - 120VA. The 250 ML is a 50 watt per channel unit so you will likely need a transformer rated around 100 - 120VA. The GK diagram also notes the mains fuse should be T 1 Amp for UK operation so you would need to change that from the current 3 Amp fuse for 110-120v working. The fuses for the transformer rails ( the 32-0-32 outputs) remain the same. You could also go all fancy and fit a modern toroidal transformer. Ideally one with a 240V primary, and around 30-33v ac dual secondary. That should give you around the 45-0-45v rectified supply you need to power the amp. It's not rocket science, but it is messing with mains voltage so a great deal of care is needed to avoid any unpleasant outcomes. Just saying. Maybe a different tech might help you out and it may even be worth emailing Gallien Krueger to see if they can suggest a modern part to replace the 110V-120V transformer. They may also be able to offer any insight into anything else you might need to factor in to a voltage conversion.
  15. Reviving this old post as part-penance, part-information sharing To paraphrase the saying: Good things come to those who... give up trying to fix something and leave it in a corner until they speak to a guy at the gym. Having not got anywhere with the red tape involved in posting an item for repair to the Netherlands, and briefly sticking my head above the parapet a couple years later with another request to Darkglass support to which they couldn't help as the model wasn't produced anymore so no stock to repair was available, it turned out in the end that the answer was staring me in the face for years... another persons face in fact! As it happens a fellow gym-goer's father is a retired electronics engineer who mastered in sound engineering (or something like that) and likes to tinker with old amps, speakers etc in his now perpetual free-time. After four painful years of having to stare at a very expensive doorstop this chap spent 10 minutes looking over the board, 2 minutes googling, and told me to buy this > ICEPower-700 Exactly the same board as is in the V1 MT900, just available from somewhere else. Popped the blown one out, fitted the new one in, and gave it a go. So happy to say it hasn't skipped a beat since it got fixed. Performs just the way it always did - although it now plays second fiddle to the V2 MT900 which is in the main rig I always make a point of running the V1 for a good portion of a rehearsal just to make sure it can keep up and that there's no other issues waiting in the wings from it's previous idiot-borne demise. Double bonus is that the new board comes with a 2 year guarantee! Hopefully, if someone else is unfortunate enough to have suffered a similar issue they might happen across this thread and find the information useful.
  16. For the record I’m bucking the age trend away from “a large serving of years” At a mere 56 marking me out as a mere stripling
  17. Don’t think I’ve ever fallen out with any previous band members but had one or two resent my leaving, despite giving them decent notice etc. The last band I left were brilliant though, and I still keep in touch with them. From my experience it’s been mainly singers who seek / want a drama when they leave. Instead of working as normal through their period of notice, I’ve seen some just start stupid behaviour on gigs or just putting no effort in at all, as if maybe ( shock horror ) they’re seeking attention of any kind. On more than one occasion this has led to near physical interventions from the band, especially when one singer was caught giving out business cards on our gig to the new outfit he was setting up in an attempt to steal our clients. He was lucky to walk away from that incident I think. 🤨

I'd love one. I'd like to wait until they add some more preamp models though - I'm quite dependent on the MXR Bass DI+ model in my Zoom pedals and I'd like to be able to reproduce that. I suppose I could attempt a Neural Capture of it, but I'm not sure I'd know where to begin. My sound is basically that, into the model of the MXR Dynacomp - the Luminal model will take care of compression duties nicely, but I need that Bass DI+ sound!

Hope there won’t be any delays. That’s where I got mine. Still no regrets and issues at this point
  20. Today
  21. Oh dear... My apologies to all who have provided excellent advice here. I should have absolutely, most definitely, acknowledged your kind responses in a timely fashion; but as such I have not. I shan't provide explanation as to the why, but I will stand here and take my licks for the poor showing of forum decorum. *screws tippy-toe into floor and looks coy* Sowee... To update all on my endeavours. I took all your advice - plugged things into the correct places, turned things on in the correct order, turned volumes up, then down, then down a bit more... then the vocalist shouted at me and I turned things up a little. All in all everything works great! Had a quick bit of a flashing DDT clipping light issue on the PA which was easily resolved with some trial and error on which input was to blame. Of course it was the lead guitarist! But we've settled into our new space really well (bar the single-glazed wooden framed windows that I swear will fall out eventually) and everything is working as expected. The drummer is most pleased after years of only being able to practice for 3 hours once a week, half the time of which was setting up and breaking down the kit, to now having a permanently set up kit and the option to pop in whenever he wants a practice/jam 24 hours a day! So thanks again for the tips and stuff. I did inwardly digest all of them and all advice provided is appreciated greatly. I will now await a good berating on BC etiquette. As penance I will also pop along to a very old thread discussing my bricked Microtubes 900 with a recent update to the positive!
  22. I don't anymore sadly. With my arthritis problems I am slowly selling off pretty much all my basses. I may keep one or two and something to play through but that will be about it.

You are clearly more "in the know" wrt the specifics of CPC - but yes that's how things generally work commercially. Additionally, the technical documentation from CPC esp wrt some of the products that appear exclusive to them is scant. eg look at connectors and cables etc. Datasheet info maybe scant - eg for a twisted pair you are unlikely to see the lay length or screen detail eg lapped / Reussen / braid etc. Service is reliable though and I order from them. And fwiw my (very corporate) employer uses both Farnell and CPC.
  24. East J tone, unlike the J retro this allows you to switch to passive if battery becomes flat.
  25. I believe that there have been agreements put in place that have made easier than it was at first, but there are still issues that need looking at. As the OP alludes to, you may need to look at how things differ from country to country. I understand that in some countries it ma be easier to hire backline, etc out there. I would be interested to see what Loz reports back from people who have first hand experience of playing out there recently.
  26. I saw a mopho recently, will check where.
