  2. I forgot to mention the other potential failure mode, in case anything similar happens again - plugging the receiver into the bass and the transmitter into the amp tends also to produce silence.
  3. Where do you have the master volume control set?
  4. Yesterday
  5. 6. I just mean the price will be dramatically different whichever it is.
  7. Gigged one the other day! Shame that they’re not getting as much use and love as deserved 😖
  8. Genuinely think this should be in a player’s tonal chain. Took out on a Jazz/Funk gig and it was smooth as butter!! Almost has me changing my mind…..just too much a luxury with the other stuff that I own and use!!
  9. *PRICE INCLUDES UK POSTAGE * Wicked pedal! Tracks beautifully. Only selling as I’m now using multi-effect unit. In great condition (I may even have original box…can’t find at the moment m). Does an octave below and/or above. Also has an independent boost effect. Blurb here: Octavius tri-tone generator has 4 controls LO OCT, HIGH OCT, MASTER MIX and BOOST. LO OCT knob lets you set the volume of the lower octave signal produced by the pedal. HIGH OCT knob controls the volume of the higher octave signal produced by the pedal. The balance between the levels of these 2 knobs is what creates your particular octave-divided sound. Experiment with your mix, and you’ll be amazed at the variety of effects you’ll get. MASTER MIX knob lets you set the overall volume of your low and high octaves compared to your direct signal. Use the BOOST knob to control the output of your octave-divided sound. The boost function lets you dial in a solo level, whether the overdrive circuit is activated or not.

  11. Not really. It's 33.25" (standard 4*** series models) as opposed to 34" on most Fender basses. So it's longer than what most would consider medium scale (32") but slightly shorter than the standard long scale. Short scale is usually 30"-31"...Fender, Gibson, Guild, Hagstrom and most of the usual SS offerings fit within this bracket.
  12. I don't see an applicator ... only the cleaning fluid?
  13. That's interesting... especially as their highly rated ones seem to be poor at blocking higher frequencies and the lower rated are poor at blocking low frequencies. This may give a more 'hifi' sound but it's the upper register that does the most damage so for on stage protection might some top end attenuation may be preferable at the expense of fidelity?
  14. No idea. Doesn't really matter to me either way.
  15. Are these a Canadian bass or an import MIC bass?
  16. That’s made me consider grabbing one again ha. If they add more scenes with midi, defo worth a look again!
  17. A headless 5 might be in my future then, depending on what they cost.
  18. As new still sealed in packs, 3 sets available £10.50 per set including postage. I have been trying various brands of strings on a number of basses, whilst these are very nice I'm going to Dunlop's for my fretted Warwick. To my ears the Eden's seem similar to Rotosounds, maybe not quite as 'zingy' initially.

Dialed-In Reverb Sounds at Your Command The BOSS RV6 makes getting high-quality reverb sounds with your guitar quick and easy—just select a sound mode, tweak the knobs to taste, and play. But while its operation is simple, the RV-6’s sound is rich and sophisticated. Under the hood, each mode includes a huge array of detailed reverb parameters, all perfectly tuned for guitar by the BOSS engineers with direct input from many pro players and sound engineers. Even as you adjust the selected mode with the Time and Tone knobs, many parameters are simultaneously adjusted inside to create the ideal voicing for every setting. Analog Dry Tone and Versatile I/O While the BOSS RV-6’s reverb effects are high-tech digital, you can rest assured that your straight guitar tone always remains pure analog as the effect is blended in. Convenient auto-switching jacks let you integrate with any pedal chain, with support for mono, mono-to-stereo, and stereo-to-stereo operation. And by plugging into the B input only, the BOSS RV6 outputs a 100-percent wet sound, great for working with more complex rigs that employ parallel processing chains and mixers. There’s also a jack for connecting an optional expression pedal, allowing you to control the effect level in real time as you play.
  21. Now £350.00. This amazing emulation of the acoustic control corporation 360 preamplifier with variamp and built in fuzz is up for grabs. Hand made by the renowned JC Maillet and commissioned and imported by myself at great cost. I have used the 360+ for studio recordings, gigs, rehearsals and at home, it has never dissapointed. The preamp sounds fantastic and the fuzz section is the best I have used. I have owned this pedal for a good few years from new, as can be seen it's in pristine condition. Specially sourced UK power supply also included. Will happily run from other sources with the right leads (I used it with a trex chameleon). Fully detailed printed instruction manual also included. Only available as I have more preamplifiers than I can use. Try out/collection always welcome, or UK insured postage for £15.00
  22. Interesting how views differ on the Alpine Musicsafe. I suspect it's got a lot to do with individuals ear shapes. I got a set recently and they are the first ones I really get on with and they clearly fit me well. I prefer the 12dB white inserts as I like to be engaged with the music and am not in silly loud bands. I do find that blocking the filter makes them harder to insert, they didn't come with an applicator but it's easy enough to get them in by holding between finger and thumb. For a minute or so they sound a little muffled but I seem to adapt quickly. They are the first I have found that I am comfortable wearing all night, and even the 12dB takes the edge off cymbals and snare. One oddity is that as they don't make my voice quieter, I have to remember to speak up when talking! They do make singing backing vocals much easier though. These ones, much better than others I've had near this price and higher: https://www.thomann.co.uk/alpine_musicsafe_pro_black_edition.htm
  23. I'm Still Standing - Sir Elton
  24. I’ve gigged with the original Beat Buddy and people were genuinely asking where our drummer was. It’s an excellent bit of kit.
  25. The finish looks cheap.
  26. The worst things you can do? Talk yourselves down. Not telling people they are having a good time. Telling people what each song is in advance (people enjoy the buzz of recognition). Waffling or just appearing to be waiting for something to happen. Not acknowledging applause, dancing etc. but keep it proportionate. Criticising bandmates, the venue or audience members. Getting carried away and thinking upur banter is more entertaining than the music (it isn't unless you are Billy Connolly, Jasper Carrott or Ed Sheeran).
