  1. Past hour
  2. That my good Sir is a very good idea.
  3. We'll have to meet and compare preamps being as you're only 40 miles away. Would actually be very interesting to hear the Sadowsky onboard in a Fender.
  4. It certainly does, thanks for your observation 👍
  5. Funny you saying that. The preamp on mine has been swapped out for a Sadowsky one with the vtc. I brought it with the mod done, but I do have the original pre amp. I also own a 5 deluxe too.
  6. Fishman Platinum Stage - I use it for rehearsals when I don't have the time or energy to lug a rig. Simple but clean, EQ, low cut options, built in boost, can run on battery and clip on your belt if needed.
  7. I'm pleased to read that the hardware is made from high grade steel! Definitley not a fan of die-cast "zinc".
  8. Why RMS? As most AC signals are symmetrical around zero, their mean value is zero. As 'a minus times a minus is a plus' the process of squaring a negative value then finding its root makes it positive. So RMS effectively means 'flipping' the part of a waveform below the zero live and then averaging all the values. If this is reminiscent of calculus, that is because it is. Theoretical RMS values are easily calculated. True RMS values are more tricky to measure. Most meters assume a sine wave. True rms meters are more complex and costly, although for audio signals a good moving iron meter will do the job.
  9. The Orange Terror bass head has the same issue.
  10. Thanks Bernmeister. Yes, I think they're definitely the one to have in the long running American Deluxe family. Huge boost on the preamp too, with a very clean sound.
  11. I was looking at this, luckily I now have the 5 string version. Yes, a great bass with a lovely feel to it.
  12. Always preferred the Subs version of "She's Not There" to the Zombies slightly wet original... And Dead Kennedys' "Vive Las Vegas" is considerably better than Elvis's!
  13. Yep, that's why it's an unhelpful design. You could do something daft like a DI box in the effects loop followed by a clean boost that would act as your master volume, but (a) it could introduce noise, and (b) you shouldn't have to go to these lengths
  14. I live near Villa Park, it’s an approx 20min walk to the venue. I’ll be avoiding the area at all costs. I was lucky enough to get to attend the Final “The End “ Show in 2017. That was it as far as I was concerned
  15. This is why I`ve in the past preferred to DI from a Sansamp/equivalent preamp, that way I can adjust volume or eq on the amp to suit the stage without affecting the FOH mix.
  16. Tech21 VTDI, everything from clean to filth in an SVT style. Really flexible EQ.
  17. Shoot You In The Back - Motorhead
  18. I still use the Sansamp BDDI v2 and love it. Clean punching sound and a great DI. I don't use the drive on it either.
  19. It sounds like you might be better served with a preamp pedal of some sort anyway. If you're going direct and don't need any stage volume... It'll be less gear to take to gigs.
  20. Yes but then you lose the preamp and tone stack colour.
  21. Well that's made the decision for me
  22. I had one of these. The amount of space it took up was completely disproportionate to the sound it made! Fantastic little things. GLWTS
  23. The fun thing about these amps is that the FX loop also comes after the master volume 🙃 Really the only option is to stick a DI box between the bass and the amp
