  1. Past hour
  2. I’ve just looked. Yeah, 2 out of 3 look good to me and the other one isn’t as bad as mine. The 2x green they have are both ok and all 4x 5 strings, grey and green look good.
  3. Peach Guitars have a few in stock with a picture and weight of the actual bass you are buying. The matching does vary quite a bit, maybe at that price point Cort think that's appropriate? Personally I'd send it back as well. I bought a sunburst Player Jazz from them and was able to select one with no visible joins in the body which also happened to be the lightest. It also came with an excellent set up. Worth a look.
  4. Carnage In The Temple Of The Damned - Deicide
  5. I like your taste,Si. Now I know it's Sherwood Green I can see it right away. Excellent basses made by a very good people. Let's us know how you like it.
  6. Well, seeing you put it through its paces convinced me Flea was going to a good home. It’s served me well. Have fun!
  7. What we've found as a similar type of show is that Sunday afternoons are a great time for people of a certain age. Weve now played a few well attended Sun afternoon gigs and it suits everyone from the band to the audience. Dave
  8. Looking at the 3 that PeachGuitars have currently listed online you can see the pics of each instrument, 1 is well matched, the other 2 are not but are both actually visually interesting so would be acceptable and are arguably unique, but if the book matched finish was important I'd choose the best one off PeachGuitars, but obviously the extra 10% unless you can get them to price match..
  9. Do people still bump on here? It’s been a while
  10. Sad to read the news about Höfner. Such a historic name.

  11. Would wind me up too. Shame the retailer didn’t open the box to check the replacement didn’t suffer the same complaints.
  12. We've done more than our fair share of clubs over the years. Now we only do them now when they virtually beg us to, and only on the proviso that they get what they just saw us do in the pub. At those clubs we go down well. We can't be doing with the old club "cheesiness".
  13. I updated mine but still not played with any of the amp blocks from last time 😂
  14. It's 10lbs, there or there abouts. Balances really well and feels proper solid.
  15. I've had one of these from new (from GAK, RIP!) and I can vouch for their capabilities. Great cab, EXCELLENT price. Recently the bass gallery in London was asking a LOT more for one of these babies.
  16. I just took a look at their website; now there's always going to be some smart Alec that will comment to the contrary, but the whole business seems to be being carried by their proxy association with Macca. Less core instruments than Fender. I was actually quite surprised they had a couple of guitar models and upright basses.
  17. Spray it black. Problem solved.
  18. Yeah, I wouldn't be happy with that either. Maybe try a smaller retailer? They might be able to send a pic first.
  19. When I read the title I thought unless it was sold as book matched then don't worry about but having looked at the pics it would bug me too , that said I'd way rather have bass 2 than bass 1 given what you said about the fret work and neck relief
  20. Today
  21. Being nice to sound techs is common sense I think. But I don't think that precludes me noting that, as it becomes more about driving complex software interfaces, a surprising number of them aren't actually very good at mixing music with their ears. One thing I have noticed, and which was corroborated chatting to a touring engineer for the band of an old friend at a gig this weekend, is that a lot of house systems appear to be EQ'ed for an empty room. He said once the audience turns up, he often ends up having to push a ton of mids through the mains to compensate system EQs. The perils of preset system design.
  22. I use stereo and have a full stereo mix of the band in my IEM. Each guitar panned to opposite sides, bass in the middle, kick in the middle and overheads/rest of kit as a stereo spread. Lead vocal in the centre and BV’s panned off centre. I love this set up.
  23. That would be a bit too much of a mismatch for me to accept, I think they need to do a more in-depth search to find you one more matching from their stock, you need to be happy with after all or you’ll always be looking , good luck
  24. It’s fascinating how we all perceive sound and decide what works for us. In have been through multiple, precisions, jazzes, stingrays, Warwick’s, overwater etc and for the last 8 years i have settled on a stingray. It’s one of the few basses I can hear well in a big band, it cuts so well. I play it in a funk/soul band and a 90s pop/dance band and it just seems to work well for most things. It’s one of the few basses where I have ever had compliments on the sound. I have a 3 band eq and run it flat with small boosts and cuts depending on the room. Adjusting the mids on the bass and amp seems to make the most impact for me in terms of flexibility. when I first got one I just boosted treble and bass which sounded great doing crappy flea impressions at home but struggled in a band situation.
  25. In my case, I never had a U4. However, I had some interference with some wireless going in 2.4 so I bought directly the U45. My other bandmates (3 people) uses the U4 without any issue. Open question for the guys who use stereo. How do you setup? My Sennheiser XSW is capable of stereo, but I just used it to mix the bass in one channel and the rest of the band in the other.
