1976 Precision - All original REDUCED £2250
Davebassics replied to Dannygno123's topic in Basses For Sale
I was up in Morecambe last week to give this a try. Sounded excellent! It's got some proper mojo. I had been concerned about the damage on the back of the neck but you cant feel it at all, or at least I couldn't. I opted to go with a 74 I found at a dealer. GLWTS mate, somebody needs to give this a good home! -
The worst thing about eBay is having to find a suitable box and packaging up stuff. Almost every time I sell something it'll be shortly after clearing out loads of empty boxes in the garage that I think I'll never need! Invariably I end up hacking up a box that's too big making me feel like I'm running a custom cardboard box atelier boutique from my garage. Maybe one day they'll do what Amazon do for returns - take the item to a shop, print the return sticker with a QR code and they do the rest.

Looking to get a beater Pbass and torn between these three. Anyone owned both the player and classic vibe, what are your experiences? 1 and 2 are almost the same price and have no mods, and because it's second hand, I like that it has more mileage and most prolly been setup. Or get the latest player II coz I'm a sucker for maple and blue combination. 1. Squier Precision Fiesta Red Classic Vibe 60s - 2nd hand 2. Fender Player in Tidepool - 2nd hand 3. Fender Player II in Aquatone - bnew

Agreed. This year I have mostly used eBay for getting rid of a load of unwanted tat including several things that were sold unworking for spares or repair that would have probably otherwise ended up in a landfill. I didn't make a massive amount of money, but all the new automated process meant that most of my time was spent taking the photos and then boxing up the items when they sold.

Cheap, Light-ish 6 String... How about an SR306?

Nice, and my second-favourite colour combo for a P, closely behind black + black 3-ply guard + maple board. Looks great!

I was looking for a second PBass to use alongside my Player II Nearly went Squier but decided to try out these new Standed series It’s a nice bass and fretwork and neck is lovely to play. Noticeable difference in tone from the ceramic pickups in as much as it’s brighter and clearer sounding, less warm and vintage and more modern Set up out of the box was decent apart from pickups were not set slanted to match neck profile etc Slight tweek on truss rod and she was playing sweetly Wasn’t sure about the Olympic White colour as it’s more cream than white but it quickly grew on me. I did own a polar white and I thought it was closer to that but I would say closer to cream Tuners are good and work well as does bridge etc For a £500 bass I think it’s a nice balance of quality, tone and cost. A workhorse gigging bass

Weird - the actual vintage ones have lower bids. Almost normal.

Well, marketing is how you sell something, not necessarily how someone uses something - if you found the old ones made good drum machines, you will find that the new ones also still work as very good drum machines. Yes, they do more, but they don't have to if that is what your job is.
-
Exactly so. Make a shorter neck with the same number of frets, extend the neck pocket a little to accommodate the extra frets, move the pickups a little bit (possibly just the neck pickup), leave all the other gubbins where it is. Reduces production costs and makes for a better balanced bass.

I don't actually mind the simple delivery at all, used it a couple of times now and just dropped off at the local shop. Don't have to worry about charging the customer the right postage amount, buying the right postage, or even really about weighing and measuring it (eBay "guess" based on the item and if they're wrong, they pay the extra postage needed). As a seller I think the changes are for the better, its the buyer protection fee and the confusion that causes with offers etc that is the real issue for me.

I’d go for wide and low, aluminium maybe (like these https://ebay.us/m/tmu7Ur)

It's a pickup configuration that I want to use for a home build that I'm very very slowly putting together.

I have an adjustable bridge and when my daughter used to practice with the bow (I only play pizz) I had to raise the action a bit alright

Always. Its been either the band isn't busy enough, the standard has dropped, or the musical direction has changed significantly from what it started out as. However, I've always found another band to play in and had a few rehearsals and at least one gig with the new band before leaving. Don't want to jump out of the fire and into the frying pan. Currently looking for a new band due to lack of gigs and a complete lack of interest from a couple of the other band members.

I've got a Double Trolley by Marc Grue. I got it broken and have mended it to be in usuable condition. I found this unusable, where the wheels were bent, and the wheel frame did no fit the stool, and the latch under the seat snapped and a few other problems. I've put a new latch on and rebent the frame, cleaned it up and tighten some loose parts so that it is in good working condition. I've have tried and tested a couple of times going to and from, and at rehearsals. This is a trolley which helps move your bass around and conveniently doubles up as a stool. Tyres hold pressure, and will require a bungee to fasten to your bass. Find out more about it here: https://doubletrolley.com/index.php Due to the size of the item, I would prefer collection in person. I can provide more pictures on request. Open to offers. Thank you

Having previously moderated an internet forum I can quite categorically state that it can be a monumental ball-ache, so thanks very much to the guys who give their free time to herd the cats, push the fog up the ditch and plait the yoghurt in order to make BC the welcoming, friendly and wallet-hazardous community that it is.

I seem to have acquired an embarrassing number of bass books over the years. Life circumstances are changing and I need to clear out from a life of accumulation. All are £4 plus the cost of postage which I think is a very reasonable price. All are in good condition, some (very few) may have annotations in them.
