It’s a hand made artisan product. That’s probably a fair price. Well done got following through on something like this and doing what you. Best of luck with it! -
Spodiddley started following Vanderkley 210 NMT 8ohms - For Sale - £475

Great-sounding bass cabinet in excellent condition, complete with a brand-new £75 branded cover. I bought this from here a few years ago, and it has served me extremely well. I’ve recently moved to a pair of Barefaced 110s, so this cab is now surplus to requirements. The cabinet is in excellent cosmetic condition, has been lightly used, and is in perfect working order with no issues. Power handling: 600W @ 8 ohms Weight: 17kg Tone: Big, warm bottom end with plenty of clarity Use: A few jazz gigs and home/practice room use only This is a sale only — no trades, please. Collection only from London SW13.

I agree with some of what you say, but I don't regard gigging as a "privilege". I'm experienced/good enough to be worthy of my place on the stage. Whether people like what I do is another matter, of course, but that's their choice. It doesn't alter the fact that I do what I do competently. For much of my life, music has been a sideline that earns me extra money, although I have had a few periods during which it was my sole source of income. However, I wanted to be able to pay a mortgage, have a family, etc, so I kept a day job for the majority of the time. I also made it clear above that I'm not opposed to turning out for charity, so it's not a case of saying no to charities and focusing on paid gigs. I make monthly donations to a few charities and am happy, provided the cause is one I have sympathy for, to turn out and play for free on occasion. However, the fact that my band may be willing to give our time and effort does not entitle people to treat us without respect. Covering basic expenses (we're not talking 5 star hotel stays and expensive dinners) is part of that respect.

Black Coffee started following Kala U bass 5 string
-
Here we have a Kala U bass 5 string solid body which has the Kala gig bag which come with it. These are just incredible for their size and punch well above their weight in sound and this 5 string version is excellent. Light, compact and so easy to play, just needs a new home where it will be played more. Plastic still on pick guard, so it’s just about immaculate at less than half the price. I have the box it was shipped in so can post it - UK only though.

I dismissed any Bluetooth headphones because of the latency problems when using them for practice, I've managed to repair my old Audio Technica ATH WS-1100's, so far the glue is holding

I personally have no issue with playing for free at charity gigs; music isn't my job so I have no pay expectations and indeed expect there to be out-of-pocket costs. I do actually have want to support and be associated with the charity, though, as I see those costs as a tacit contribution to their fundraising budget (spent immediately by them on entertainment for that event) and any photographs of me under their banner as being a much stronger indication of my personal support for their cause than, say, a bartender photographed at the same event. If I wouldn't smile for the camera as I put £50 in their collection bucket then I wouldn't play the gig as I see them as broadly the same gesture.

Over 10 years ago we did a fund raiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust following the death of the daughter of a couple that the band knew, it was quite high profile locally and the local MP popped in, it was well-attended and was part of a series of events that the couple did to raise funds for TCT. I was told on the day that they'd raised over £1600 just at the event we played. There was a photo of the couple in the local rag after these events presenting a big mock cheque for around £400 to TCT. A friend of mine checked and that was the only donation made by them, so where the money raised at the event that we played went and what happened to the cash raised at the other events we can only guess. As you might imagine, this has coloured my attitude towards any event where I'm donating time/money.

Hello! Back to Bass (and BC) after around 15 years. Unable to get into old account as lot access to my previous email address. Anyway! Not played in 15 years or so since I finished college. Been relearning, re familiarising myself over the past 6 months or so. Already had a little bout of GAS. With a young kid and time to only play late after work and bedtime I use a fender mustang micro plus (love this, wish it existed when I was first learning!). I use a Fender Vintera 70s Jazz bass and a Fender 51 reissue P bass (MIJ) - Picked the 51 up from a fellow BC user on ebay but forgotten the username.

Just my tuppence. The X series features STELLAR.45 driver, which isn't the same the good old DT xx0 Pro ones you mentioned before utilise. This STELLAR.45 sounds and feels different to old ones, as well as is only available with impedance of 48Ω. Some people like this, the others don't. Having tried both 700 Pro X and 770 Pro X, I clearly prefer good old DT 770 Pro 250Ω.

Do the speaker stands actually light up? Or is it an illusion?
-
I assumed so, too. It honestly can’t be worth their hassle to bother with it. I have experience of small claims court and have advised I’ll be charging storage and disposal fees.

He said it was likely to be structurally sound because he tuned the bass up and checked for movement, and to let them know the fault and see what they say. When I told them they advised me not to use it and return it (which was when the fun started).

Darkglass Anagram £750 Delivered in UK. Note that this has a small ding on the LHS which is reflected in the asking price. Comes with supplied case and power supply as well as a KnK shield which cost me a total of £70 to have delivered from Poland. https://www.darkglass.com/en-gb/products/anagram https://www.knkshields.com/products/anagram Apart from the ding it is in excellent condition. Purchased from guitarguitar in August 2025. With great irony it received the ding while I was fitting the protective shield. I was moving it on my desk and clipped the edge of my Apple Studio Display cracking the monitor's screen in the process. Thankfully I have Applecare+ or that would have been a very expensive repair. I've really enjoyed playing through the Anagram, I've owned all flavours of Helix and Quad Cortex and the tones from the Anagram were the best of the lot. Selling as I don't really have a use for it. I like to stick to a simple preamp/compressor board but do love trying out new kit. Potential buyers are welcome to demo in Glasgow.

A few months ago I would have bought it instantly, but as I don't play bass, but only piano, anymore since then... Excellent bass, I had a few over the years. That said, this one looks like a very first generation model made by the original company: Lightwave, not Wilcox. Beware that you have to know how to set up the optical system ("sensing diodes"), which is explained in PDF here: https://www.willcoxguitars.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Willcox-Guitars-LightWave-Systems-Saber-User-Manual.pdf And with a video here: And how a fiver sounded in 2009 under Ed Friedland's fingers:

Headphones are a guilty pleasure of mine. I use beyer dt770 for playing precisely because they don’t bloat the bass end so there’s a lot of ‘space’ for playing along with music. I find cans which are designed for pleasurable listening sound too crowded for bass monitoring. For music I have a set of Yamaha YHL700A which are not well known but absolutely fantastic. I can’t say enough about them - I rarely use the cinema modes but the soundstage and weight of the bass is perfectly judged especially using the listening care setting which reduces perceived low end loss at low volume. With ambient noise setting on, it’s like having some lovely speakers in the room. Yamaha have recently released a slightly paired down version, the yhl500a which I think have the same audio but benefit from multipoint Bluetooth. They don’t have ANC and don’t fold etc so they are designed more for listening at home. They’re only £150ish. Most reviews of the 700s are less than perfect due to the lack of convenience like no multipoint Bluetooth and weak ANC but all I care about is the audio quality, and they excel against anything else I have tried. I bought loads of top rated headphones from Amazon and returned them all - Dyson, Focal, etc. They either didn’t sound as rich or were way too tight. Some had amazing ANC (Dyson) but it depends what you want. It seems as though most manufacturers cater towards people who want touch controls or for their headphones to pause when they take them off, stuff which imo is pointless if it’s at the cost of better sound.

I’m selling my recently acquired (in a trade) 2020 Precision finished in rarely seen Silver. The bass is in excellent condition and has had some worthwhile and expensive upgrades including Fender Original pickups with cloth wiring, Fender Hi-mass bridge, TI flats (not new but still with plenty of life left in them) and a brand new Thomann gig bag with 20mm of padding. it plays and sounds great and if I didn’t already have a few other Precisions I would happily keep it. Collection with coffee, tea and biscuits welcomed or I could post in a Fender shipping box at the buyer’s risk and expense. A part way meet in Bristol, Cheltenham or Cirencester could be arranged too.

Black or White - Michael Jackson

When I saw the pic of the box in your hallway, it did cross my mind that it would be hard to return it if you needed to, and here we are. Thomann often just write things off, refund or account credit, and tell you to keep it as the return is just not economically viable. Bax won't be able to resell this bass, so they ought to just refund you and leave you to do what you want with it. Otherwise it's just going to cost them more!

We do a couple each year. One is for a friend of the band who lost close family to cancer and we donate our services FOC as all ticket sales go to the respective cancer charities. We also do a mental health charity sponsored event, these are done on a budget so we ask for expenses.
