Fender 51 reissue precision bass SOLD!!!

Selling a Japanese Fender 51 reissue precision bass in 2 tone sunburst.

I bought this for recording at the beginning of the year, used it for this and then for one other gig as a spare bass, so has hardly had any use.

The only marks I can find are very very faint scratches on the back of the body, their so faint i can't even get them in a photo.

It has an ash body with a beautiful grain, with a gloss maple neck, fitted with rotosound hybrid strings. (100, 80, 60, 40) with a low - medium action.
All original hardware, control knobs etc. The only thing I have changed is the strings.

I'm selling as i just don't play it enough, it has been sat on a stand for quite a while in my room so feel its time to let it go.

I'm looking for £575 ono.

Here are some photos. :)

Interestingly no online retailers are currently selling them though. I've just been googling these & all the cheaper priced listed ones aren't stating stock levels. The main dealers simply aren't listing it at all. I wonder if Fender are discontinuing them? These are fantastic basses & I love mine.

I had read that these were being discontinued, however this wasn`t on any official Fender website, think was on here, or maybe T**kbass.
Whichever, these are fantastic basses, thoroughly recommend them.

I've heard they're equally as good as the fender custom shop 55, a mate of mine tried both and said there really wasn't a lot in it, just change the pickup. Pretty appauling when you consider the CS was £2000+ new!! Value for money with the '51 used or new. I'll have one some day...

:)

I imported mine from Japan for less than 300 clams. True the exchange rate isn't very good but they've possibly put the prices up in line with the MIMs

I've bought one recently and I'm amazed at how good they sound.

The neck feels much faster than it should given the dimensions. I am really surprised at how much I like this bass. Up until two or three years ago I wouldn't have had a Fender of any description, especially a Precision.

Never say never?

Frank.

No hardcase, no upgrade, but basically not used.

No warranty, no 30 money back guarantee, none of the other benefits that you pay new shop prices for. Basically not new.
