Three really good real shops who also sell bass things via the internet:

Yep, just got my SBMM Ray34 from them. Cheapest i could find on line and it arrived in very quickly.

Also another vote for stringsdirect. I get all my strings and bit form them and i always get them the following day.

I used to really rate Thomanns but due to the exchange rate (i think) they are quite pricey now, although they off very good service. Probably the best i have had on line.

You must be one of the lucky few. I've had a nightmare with these and after several posts on the forum, you're the first person I've seen say they have good service.

I don't know what customer service is like - never had to deal with it.
I've ordered a fair amount of stuff though, and the only problem i've ever had was a danelectro guitar took about 2 days more to arrive when it was snowing last year.
Obviously if they've got a reputation for being terrible, feel free to ignore my recommendation. I'm only speaking from personal experience.

I ordered some of my new kit here and was very happy with the service and turnaround times.

Wife bought my Christmas present from GAK and said they were excellent.
I've only used Gear4Music for small inexpensive items but never had any complaints.
