  1. Just bought a bass offa Dave. Top bass-chatter. Lovely bloke.
  2. Bought a double bass headway 'band' from Adrian. Excellent comms, fast shipping, and great packaging. What is there not to like.
  3. For those of you who are on tenterhooks, I took it to Jerome before Christmas and picked it up last week. I can now ?third?, ?forth? the reccomendations above. Lovely bloke, good advice, great price, fantastic work.
  4. No. It went to the great bass case recycling centre in the sky 😞 I'll close this.
  5. Hiya. I have a B&H 400 that's in need of a new bridge, possibly a sound-post reset, and a general set-up. I've always gone to Malcom Healy in the past (http://www.healeyviolins.co.uk/) but as it's a cheap bass he didn't sell me he's not interested. I'm at Junction 9 on the M25. Reccomendations for a luthier in Surrey please....
  6. Bought a bass recently that came with this hard case. Unknown history. Has some battle scars and the main handle is attached with glue where the stitching has died. Doesn't come with the bass, obviously. Space for 2 bows inside. Pickup from TW20 (Thorpe). Fits in the back of a Jazz, just, but not in a Fabia.

  8. "on hold" if such a thing is possible.
  9. MARUSZCZYK INSTRUMENTS Jake 4a (precision style) bass guitar including original soft case, case candy and an excellent strap. This came to me a couple of years ago and I've used it sparingly ever since, I've gigged it and there are a couple of blemishes (pictured). Frets are good with plenty of life left in them. Truss rod is good. P-J configuration with an active 2 band EQ. Matt finish on the neck. Overall it's a great bass, the only reason I'm selling is that it's been sitting on the wall for some time and I'm just not using it. Smoke-free home. Weighs in at 3.8kg Local pickup is possible from Egham. Shipping possible at buyers expense. Usually about £30 but you can arrange your own if you think you can get it cheaper. I have some old bass boxes in the loft and plenty of packaging. No trades, thanks, unless you have a double bass suitable for classical orchestral use (I can add cash if that's the case)
  10. This is the only thread I could find, so I added to it. Bought a USA p-bass from Gunnar - extremely nice bloke and I love his dog too. No nonsense transaction, as it should be and I expect through basschat.
  11. Ahh. My old bass! Really is terrific - I just fell out of love with 5 strings otherwise I'd still have it. GLWTS.
  12. Joel bought my Sadowsky in December 2018. Excellent communication. Flawless transaction.
  13. Up for grabs my Yamaha BB2024X Bought from Bass direct about 5 years ago this has been gigged regularly. I'm selling as it is left on the wall in favour of either the Chapman or the Maruszczyk, and it's too much bass to not be played regularly. Weight: 9lb 8oz/4.3kg Some dings in the finish as you'd expect from a gigging bass - I've tried to capture them as best I can. The neck is straight & true. Local pick-up from Woking, Egham or London City. I will post internationally but it has to be fully insured. No trades, thanks. I'm sure we're all aware of how good these are, but in case you're wondering: hand-built bass from the Yamaha Japan factory using the latest technology in vibration treatment and construction techniques. Body: Alder ( A.R.E.) Neck: Maple/Mahogany 5 piece Fingerboard: Rosewood Scale: 34" Frets: 21 Pickups: PJ, Neck: Alnico V split, Bridge: Ceramic single coil Controls: Master Volume / Tone, Toggle Switch for pickups Hardware: Yamaha Chrome Finish: Black Hard case included
  14. Bump. I don't particularly want to drop the price any further as this is lower than what they seem to go for on ebay. Would I be better off there with a low value bass?
  15. Fantastic Bass-Chatter. Bought a second Orange Terror Bass from me (for his son). Clear comms. Turned up on time. Everyone happy.
  16. Up for sale is my 'big box' Electro-Harmonix Q-Tron. It's an old design so maybe I should class it as "vintage"? Bought many moons ago after having met Mister freekbass and having had a go on his. Comes with the official power supply. Reason for sale is that it's been in its box for the last ?3? years and it really should be used! In perfect working order. I'm just not in a band that needs its funkilicious feel. There's still a piece of velcro on the bottom which used to attach this to my pedal board. Technical details here: https://www.ehx.com/products/q-tron - it looks like they've changed the design slightly. £90 £80 - price includes shipping. Local pickup from Chertsey, Woking or Central London possible.
  17. Up for grabs is my Morley Dual Bass Wah. Had it for ages, from new (must be ~ 10 years?). Saw light use at both rehearsals and live for a few years then went into the big plastic box of effects I may use again someday. Working fine. The bottom's a bit tatty from when I stuck on some velcro when attaching it to a pedal board (see photos). Tech Details and sound demos here: http://www.morleypedals.com/dual-bass-wah/ Priced at £50 £40 including shipping. I'll knock some off for local pick-up from Chertsey, Woking or Central London. Not interested in trades.
  18. SOLD on EBAY for £116 Up for grabs is my immaculate Squire Bronco. I bought this for my son 3 years ago from Wunjo music in Denmark Street - I tried all of the squires they had and this was the pick of the litter. It's been lightly used ever since, but at practice last week I noticed how small it was on him, so he's graduated to stealing my basses. It's a shoulder saving 3.5kgs. Perfect working order. I can't see any major dings. Comes with a soft stagg case. Happy to ship at buyer's expense. Bass is in Chertsey and I can drive a reasonable distance for petrol money. Original listing at £140 - now £130 £120 £110 Happy to listen to trade offers. Unlikely to be taken up, but tell me what you've got. Yeah, this is in proportion 🙂
