I'm not highlighting Ebay sales I am just asking that if you had the choice, which one would you go for and why. Its just an experiment that I need to do. I shall reveal all later. The used black one is a bit suspect because of what might have happened to the neck to take that big chunk out of the headstock. 200 more for a new one although I'll bet if you went to a music shop and tried a few, found one you like and waved cash under their noses you could probably get it for less, meaning you could get a new one for not allot more than a used one. Last one - nice but I reckon you could walk into a shop and get one for that(ish) with some negotiation. Second one all the way for me if I could get it for £6-650. The Japanese Fender is mine and I'm trying to talk myself out of selling it so I was gauging what other people thought of it compared to the US models as i would probably be buying a US model if my one sells but am I making a mistake? This is the dangerous season for me between the end of the wedding gigs and the start of the Christmas party nights when I have a lot of spare time not playing. The price I have it in at reflects my indecision as to whether I should be selling it or not. I did get caught out before when I put my Fender '51 reissue on Ebay at a high price as I didn;t really want to sell it but someone came right in and bought it. The rolled fingerboard edges really appeal to me on the new US models as it was the thing I really liked about my JV Squier but whatever I get I'm tempted to put a Fralin or ollar pickup in there anyway. Delberthot Posted November 13, 2009 Author Share Posted November 13, 2009 Its an absolutely fantastic playing and sounding bass but I absolutely hate chips, dings, dongs etc. Unless you're a clumsy oaf or an extremely unlucky oaf there's absolutely no reason how you would get them. stu_g Posted November 13, 2009 Share Posted November 13, 2009 yep if that is my old one it only had a couple of age related dings when i sold it but the bloke who sold it on did add some relicing dunno why it looked good as it was the only reason i think its my old one is because of the machineheads which arent normally found on jap precisions and i put fender stamped 70s usa ones on mine also it had a seymour duncan vintage p bass pickup installed so it sounded awesome Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Personally I'd go for item no. 325928501 at [url="http://www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box/"]Ishibashi Ubox[/url] but I've always had a weird man-crush on Duff I have a Jap P from the 90s and it's absolutely bangin'! Does anyone have any pills to sedate me until the end of the month so that i don;t do anything rash?[/quote] I've owned a JV squier P for 20 years (My god, is it that long?), yet I tried a mex standard precision at the Bass Gallery a couple of weeks ago and if I closed my eyes I'd be hard pushed to tell the difference, nicely profiled board edges and everything. There's definitely a kudos, a bit of magic to the American made instruments so it's really about change for change's sake if you havet to do it.
