Actually, looks alright, specs are intereting as well.

Aparently that's "1x bass humbucker + "2x bass single-coil", also "machine heads: diecast, black"

I however see a one single coil and one split, and chrome machine heads.

I'm tempted, but cannot afford to throw away £80 like that atm.

OMFG those things are ugly. Bc Rich in general make the ugliest guitars possible.

Then again, i hate the really angular ones, i like my classics.[/quote]
damn straight, those things are awful. They look awful, they feel awful to hold, the feel terrible to play, and they sound even worse.

A mate of mine got a BC Rich bass with a transparent purple body because he was going into a heavy metal band, and thought they looked cool. He loved it for a week or two, then the novelty wore off, and he realised just how shithouse the thing actually was. He ended up breaking even and got an Epiphone Thunderbird :)

Doesn't float my boat aesthetically, but it's a huge mistake to make assumptions about cheap instruments because they're cheap. It's surprisingly uncommon to find any budget instrument with a ply construction these days - in fact the branded cheapos - Epiphone & Peavey for example, are more prone to being ply than unbranded, probably Chinese stuff such as this.

Realistically, if the body & neck are decent, the generic components mean it would be eminently upgradeable.

For my sins, I admit I'm rather taken by this, from the same seller:

:)

That initially doesn't look too bad - some nice design ideas like the black brust finish and the inlay fingerboard markers, but then scroll down to the last pic and look at the state of the grain on the neck! If they'd had any sense they'd have covered that up with a nice black brust finish as well.

the thing i like about that bass is it would work in a heavy metal situation just aswell as the first one without being tastless.

yeah i mean if you actually changed everything apart from the body, you'd still be paying a lot less than to have a see-thru body made by a luthier.
