jd56hawk Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago ...I sure wish I could play like this guy. He didn't just play the bass, he slayed the bass! 3 Quote
NancyJohnson Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago We had a song about Dee-Dee, but changed a few of lyrics and it became 'Supermodel in Cocaine Shocker!'. Go figure. 1-2-3-4! Quote
jonno1981 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Downstrokes, fresh swing bass 66, all the attitude! Quote
Cato Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) Best gig I ever went to was The Ramones at the Humming Bird Birmingham in around 1993. My one slight regret is that by the time was old enough to see them Dee Dee had left the band. Still both he and the rest of the band were a huge influence on me from the first time I heard them in my early teens & I'm glad I got to see them a couple of years before they finally stopped touring. Lozz196 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Great bassist, plenty of attitude, whilst people might say he didn’t play anything difficult he did it with the attitude and aggression the material required, doing that for a whole gig is harder than many might think. 1 Quote
chris_b Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I don't play with attitude or aggression, but I do remember when I was that shape. Oh for those days again!! 1 Quote

They were incredibly lucky that when someone left they always had a family member who could step into the role. 1 Quote
Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago Aka Dee Dee King I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the only rapping he had ever heard before recording as Dee Dee King was the Two Ronnies 'Pink Rupee Rap' Quote
