Elfrasho Posted March 22 Posted March 22 Sturdy keyboard stand raising the amp up to closer to ear level? 2 Quote
lemmywinks Posted March 22 Posted March 22 It's a shame Markbass stopped integrating a kickback feature in their cabs, both the Standard and Club series could be angled back. 1 Quote
SH73 Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I converted an old Halfords bicycle carrier into an angled stand. The amp weighs a out 32 kg, no issues. 1 Quote

I use a version of this (also branded Stagg and Ortega) at every gig and rehearsal, Though I've not put my BF Super Twin on one yet 😂 Quote

I took an old Halfords bike carrier apart. Cut it to the desired length, swapped the locking mechanism around so it works as a stand. I put some prosecco cork stops in the tubes to protect the carpet. It hold the old school Peavey bass combo, about 31 kg. It's not a pretty stand but the combo conceals it. I think that’s tres elegant!!! 1 Quote
Homatron Posted Friday at 21:35 Posted Friday at 21:35 These all look like great solutions for combos, but when it comes to angling a cab + head would the head need to sit on a wedge or something like a bench hook to stop it sliding off the back of the cab? I suppose the head could be put elsewhere, but where's the fun in that? 1 Quote

I did it the Eich way, screwing strong magnets under the feet and metal washers on the cab to receive the head, works flawlessly. Dan Dare Posted yesterday at 10:37 Posted yesterday at 10:37 If you Google "angled amp stand", you'll get plenty of options. Check the weight rating if your rig is sizeable. Not an issue with a combo, but if using a separate head, you'll need something to stop it sliding off the cab. 2 Quote

NancyJohnson Posted yesterday at 12:13 Posted yesterday at 12:13 I bought a little keyboard stand. We were just too loud as a band and the angled cab thing didn't help. It was more about elevating the cabs so you were in full battle with the cymbals. 1 Quote

I guess back in the day we’d all have used beer crates! 1 Quote

Caveat: I use a lightweight class D head. I‘m sure you could do it with something heavier, up to a point. However, anything really heavy and tilted would raise an issue with the centre of gravity anyway. Edited yesterday at 16:25 by SICbass Quote
JoeEvans Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I prop mine up on a 1950's edition of Proust's 'Au Recherche du Temps Perdu' in the original French. Great for that wistfully elegiac P bass tone that so many of us strive for. 5 Quote

That said any Harry Potter book would have done the job perfectly, furthermore they are available in different thicknesses for perfect angling. 1 Quote

I did try Harry Potter - everyone used to love the sound of the amp like that, but then it started making these weird tweets, which really irritated some people. 1 Quote
