Angling up the cab for rehearsals - anyone got any elegant and styling ways of doing it?

It's a shame Markbass stopped integrating a kickback feature in their cabs, both the Standard and Club series could be angled back.

I converted an old Halfords bicycle carrier into an angled stand. The amp weighs a out 32 kg, no issues.

I use a version of this (also branded Stagg and Ortega) at every gig and rehearsal, Though I've not put my BF Super Twin on one yet 😂

Sorry for late reply , been busy. I recently took the amp off and serviced it. I took an old Halfords bike carrier apart. Cut it to the desired length, swapped the locking mechanism around so it works as a stand. I put some prosecco cork stops in the tubes to protect the carpet. It hold the old school Peavey bass combo, about 31 kg. It's not a pretty stand but the combo conceals it.

These all look like great solutions for combos, but when it comes to angling a cab + head would the head need to sit on a wedge or something like a bench hook to stop it sliding off the back of the cab?

 

I suppose the head could be put elsewhere, but where's the fun in that?

I did it the Eich way, screwing strong magnets under the feet and metal washers on the cab to receive the head, works flawlessly.

I used to have a MarkBass LMIII in a second hand zippy carry bag thing that had velcro that'd stick it to the rat fur surface of the cab. That was very handy.

If you Google "angled amp stand", you'll get plenty of options. Check the weight rating if your rig is sizeable.

 

Not an issue with a combo, but if using a separate head, you'll need something to stop it sliding off the cab.

I bought a little keyboard stand.  We were just too loud as a band and the angled cab thing didn't help.  It was more about elevating the cabs  so you were in full battle with the cymbals.

I always resolve that issue with a shortish one of these. Safe as houses and no drilling or gluing.

Caveat: I use a lightweight class D head. I‘m sure you could do it with something heavier, up to a point. However, anything really heavy and tilted would raise an issue with the centre of gravity anyway.
